Hyatt Regency Maui
- What's Included
Stayed in the Napali Tower room #224. I would classify this as a partial ocean view, not ocean view. Upon our arrival, aesthetically the resort looks great, nice open layout in the lobby atrium area and a beautiful views over looking the pool to the ocean. Guest rooms on the other hand are not as comfortable as pictures / images show. My boyfriend got locked out on Lanai when he closed he patio door. Thank goodness housekeeping arrived to clean the room. I heard guest room renovations are not to take place until 2018. The beds are very worn out, wallpaper coming off the walls, and bubbling in several areas. The carpet is worn and coming up in certain areas. The work station chair cushion was stained on both sides, the fake leather ottoman was worn and dirty. We even had a cockroach visit our bed. Bathrooms show wear & rust stains and old chain locks in the doors kept preventing our door to shut on several occasions. Son'z Steakhouse was short staffed on a Saturday evening, the wait staff was yelling at the hostess. We had poor to little service. This restaurant is not owned by the Hyatt either, using Hyatt points can be deducted off your hotel bill itself not by restaurant staff.Drums of the Pacific Luau was incredible, as well as Japengo. Japengo is owned by the Hyatt, you can really tell by its staff compared to Son'z. Kamaha'o Spa, was average, nothing to brag about besides the relaxation rooms' view is amazing. The meeting and ballrooms facilities were renovated & completed in late 2016. I would give that 2 thumbs up. Honestly, I would have trouble recommending this Hyatt Regency, the price of the guest rooms out weigh the class the guest rooms should have as a Hyatt Regency.
Recently returned from a several-night stay at the Hyatt Regency and once again, it was very pleasant. All of the staff, from the moment walking into the hotel, are very cordial. The beautiful grounds continue to impress. While I would agree some of the rooms are perhaps a bit dated, the overall experience at this Hyatt more than compensates.
This is a very nice resort to stay at. Nice beach. The restaurants weren't something we personally enjoyed as the varieties are somewhat limited. We stayed at a deluxe ocean view king room. The view was excellent. The washroom was smelly probably due to poor drainage. When we called the front desk they were willing to explore and fix the problem in a timely manner and they did credit my account for the inconvenience. That was a nice gesture. The washroom also was an it small and crowded. Wifi was very interrupted even after I called to have my cell phone IP address manually entered. All in all a nice stay and lots to do at the resort with a few inconveniences The hotel could use some maintenance and the wifi could be a bit more reliable. Would stay there again.
This hotel is gorgeous with an open lobby and several very good restaurants. The rooms are a little bit of a walk from the lobby and they are a little dated but very nice and offered bottled water every day. The pool area is beautiful and just off the beach. It gets crowded and there aren't many shaded lounge chairs so we went to the Hyatt Residence side which had more chairs and shade. The walking path is great and goes on for miles. The Japengo Japanese restaurant was our favorite restaurant. The coffee shop in the lobby had great breakfast sandwiches. The Swan Court had a great breakfast but did not offer healthy alternatives. There was a lot of butter and grease on the eggs, toast. Overall very nice experience! We would definitely return! On a side note, the hotel should keep an eye on people drinking at the pool bars. There were a few men who were quite inebriated and not being respectful of the people in the pool areas. Would have enjoyed playing tennis but no Pro was available.
Went to Maui for my husbands birthday, and stayed at the Hyatt regency. It was amazing. The rooms were a little outdated, but the resort itself is beautiful! Everything is kept so clean. The staff all went out of their way to make sure we were happy and had anything we needed. They were all so friendly. All of the food we had at the resort was great. We were very happy with our stay and will definitely be back
