Hyatt Regency Maui
- What's Included
Once you go Hyatt Regency Maui Resort And Spa, you will always want to stay at Hyatt. This resort had the best pool of all the hotels on the strip and even a water slide. With Hyatt Regency privileges, you also get free food all day; it was almost like staying at an all inclusive without the alcohol and multiple restaurants, but hey, this was Maui! Loved every minute here, with great snorkeling just down the way at Black Rock.
My family of 3 (parents with 6-yr old) spent 4 nights in an upper floor, corner room and we can't wait to go back. Loved the lei greeting. The views were amazing and the grounds immaculate. The bathroom was so tiny it required acrobatics to get in and out, but the view more than compensated (maybe it was worse because of the corner?). We also took advantage of Regency Club which was a sufficient breakfast and light dinner for us daily. The Regency Club attendants were attentive, helpful and made the place feel like home with their pleasant dispositions and friendly conversation. The staff outside of the Regency Club was just as pleasant. One night a staffer we didn't know but happened to be walking beside in the lobby struck up conversation, asking about our stay and if this was or first visit to Maui. We learned that it was one of the housekeeping leaders when he sent a surprise for my son to our room! The pools and slides were fun. We also stayed at the Ritz while on the island, and found that the service at Hyatt was top notch. The location is perfect - right on the beach and near all of the water activities, walking distance to Whaler's Village, close to Lahaina, etc. Self-parking spaces were like the bathroom...tiny. But it seemed that larger spaces could be found toward the back of the lot. Tips: - Book activities through the hotel. We booked directly before we traveled but found that we would have spent a little less actually going through their Expedia Activities Center. They also may provide certain bonus gifts with purchase. - Request a high floor. The view is great and you'll be less likely to hear the action from the 24-hr pool. - You can use valet during the day for no charge (aside from tips) as long as you've picked up your car by like 11 PM or midnight.
This isn't a cheap resort and it's definitely in the touristy part of the island...and it's amazing! Clean, friendly staff, GREAT POOLS, great beach access and views, fun wildlife on site (breakfast is served on swan pond, flamingos, penguins, etc on site) great restaurants, just a very short drive to Front Street waterfront and shops, drum luau dinner for those interested, knowledgeable concierge.
