Great experience...Jeff was so helpful during the check in process. He is definitely a great asset!! The location was great and the hotel amenities were also very good. They also have an on call doctor which we unfortunately had to use but how convenient was that!
For a 4 star hotel and brand name Hyatt, we had high hopes and may be the reason we were unhappy with the stay. We had a room for 5 days and were given a room (751) which apparently was a partial ocean + mountain view room. While we had actually booked a deluxe ocean view room. The room was noisy, definitely not what the pictures depicit and the staff didn't care when we asked to change. Housekeeping staff ( one on phone) is pathetic as it takes them couple of hours and phone calls for any request. Amenities on the our hand is awesome and would recommend for families with kids. Beach outside Hyatt is a bit rough and rocky. Overall - they could have done much better and you can definitely find a better option for the same price.
Loads to like about this place, from the proximity to the beach, to the top-notch service, to the shops on site. Our only complaint, if you can call it that, is that the rooms (carpet, shower, furnishings) are a little dated. Definitely not enough to take away from the overall great vacation, though. If you like the beach, this is your place. Very nice pool, too! (although with that beach who wants to soak in chlorine?)We didn't eat on the property much - we prefer the local places - so can't say much about the food. Breakfast buffet was good, but nothing spectacular. Had room service after a particularly long day, and it was good. Service was excellent, from arrival to departure. The valets really appreciated tips...we got the feeling that we were among the few who actually tipped them - sad. Front desk was very accommodating when we asked to be moved to a higher floor with a better view of the sunrise. Every housekeeper we saw always had a smile on their face, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Would definitely recommend this resort for a nice, relaxing Hawaiian vacation!
All in all I have stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Kaui and was disappointed in the Hyatt in Maui. Hotel is dated and in need of remodeling. The room was nice, but the rest of the hotel is dated. Is not somewhere where I would take my children. The pool was not very big and the slide, if you could find it, is the only thing that children would enjoy.
The location of this hotel is great. Landscaping and common areas of the hotel are impressive! Rooms need to be updated as they are showing their age. The service at the hotel is excellent. Food at the restaurants is very good.
