Hyatt Regency Maui
- What's Included
We returned to the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort after Honeymooning in 2005. This visit was with our 7 year old and we all had a great time. Rooms, grounds and staff were all great. Can't wait to return...
The hotel grounds are gorgeous and the staff was pleasant.I was thoroughly unimpressed with the room. It was dirty and outdated. The bathroom door was torn up at the bottom. There was dirt and dust in the corners of our bathroom vanity and on the tub. The room was dingy and the deck was so small it was hard to do anything more than stand on it. Thankfully we only spent two nights here. Had we been staying longer, I would have cancelled the remainder of our reservation and found a cleaner more updated pace to stay.
This hotel is gorgeous and the best one in Kaanapali....The open-air design with the rainforest decor and live animals makes the maui experience amazing. Also, the pool is unlike any other i've been to. LOVE the waterfalls, Grotto and Kiddie area...exactly what i would expect from a hotel in Maui AND the beach is literally 5 steps away....couldn't have asked for a better experience. And...i'm very picky about the hotels i stay in ;)
This was my 4th trip to Maui and my first to the Hyatt in Lahaina. The lobby of the hotel is gorgeous and we loved the pool as well.We were however, disappointed in the service. We were celebrating a big birthday and on our other visits to Maui we have been well taken care of when celebrating a special occassion. Our partial ocean view required craning our necks around the balcony, and our bathroom smelled moldy. Our room was not serviced for 2/8 days we were there. We were incorrectly charged on our room service bill and also served spoiled milk with our breakfast. They did bring milk and some cookies to make up for it, but it was just one of many things. We had difficulties getting served at Umalu, and after two attempts of waiting 30+ minutes and one bill where we were overcharged, I made the front desk aware and was told a manager would call. Unsurprisingly, no one ever did.The place seems severely understaffed with management who doesn't seem to mind if guests aren't being accommodated because they're so busy. We won't be returning on our next trip.
We stayed here 3 nights and the property was amazing. The rooms are spacious and clean. If you forgot anything they help you find it. We also got help making parasailing reservations. Would stay here again and again. The penguins in the lobby are amazing. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Instead of bottled water they give you a refillable water bottle.
