Kaanapali Beach Hotel
- What's Included
We love the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. We have stayed there twice and will stay there again when we return. I wanted something that was more of the vintage Hawaiian style and authentic. I didn't want anything modern or sterile. We love the family atmosphere here. The views are perfect, the terrace restaurant has top-notch entrees and desserts. The drinks are wonderful and everything is so conveniently located. Love their hula classes and cultural classes, local craft fair displays, and that each time that we return they add a white kukui nut to our necklace. Very courteous and pleasant staff!
We booked this hotel as a Costco package (air, hotel, car) for my family of 4. Only reason why I say almost perfect is because their pool was standard. My 9 yr old would have loved a bigger pool with more options (slide, waterfall, last river). However, if you don't care for a pool, everything else was great for our family. We loved:-Having two queen beds that were comfortable and very clean-Very large open area with lots of green space; my family played with our home brought light-up frisbee every night-Wonderful cultural classes: we signed up for lei making, bracelet making, net throwing, ukulele class... there were a few other classes too that we weren't able to get to-Clean room and linens-Extremely courteous staff-One free breakfast buffet where they let you know of all the different activities (for fee) that you can sign up for; they do not get commission. The breakfast was also pretty hearty, and you got a lot of good information (thank you Mike!).-Down to earth settling: I live in Orange County CA and loved that it didn't feel that way. --Beach is super close and wasn't crowded.-Umbrella/lounge chair rentals were priced very well; opens at 8am to 4pm, and you can rent the set all day for $30.-Covered parking of $12 daily rate self park was fine; the structure was right next to our room and we were always able to find covered parking.Yes, the hotel is one of the first ones there and isn't "glitzy". However, it was very relaxing, comfortable, and not crowded with masses of people. I don't regret spending our vacation there. Like other reviews, don't expect high end, which is totally fine with me.
My husband and I stayed at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel the week of July 8th. We had stayed there 35 years ago and could not get over the changes in the area. Yes, the rooms are outdated, but they are clean and well maintained. We love the location of the hotel not far from Lahaina and the lovely beach not far away. We had the buffet breakfast in our hotel package. There was a nice a variety of food choices everyday. We love the fact that the hotel takes pride in the Hawaiian culture and shares this with their hotel guests. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and well kept. We enjoyed listening to the music near the Tiki Bar. The most touching thing was the Ohana ceremony at the end of our stay. We loved hearing the history of the lei and the reason why they are given to their guests. We are looking forward to returning to the Kaanapli Beach Hotel in the future and bringing our leis with us so they can be restrung.
I had an amazing trip here. However, it is pricey ($30 for an entree) but you make up for it because of the location. The beach is very clean and there was no garbage on the ground at all. I would go again in the future.
Great stay here. The staff are wonderful and the grounds kept so clean with the beach right there. Loved it and definitely would stay again. Close to Whalers village so shopping and dining close by if you want to. Lahania is 10 min drive away.
