amazing location

When we walked into the villa, the view from the lounge stopped us in our tracks. The huge glass windows in the lounge gave a panoramic view of the ocean and it was absolutely stunning. The villa itself was very roomy, clean and comfortable with a big kitchen, large bedroom and beautiful outside area. Nothing prepared us for the sheer size of the Kapalua Villa grounds, with two huge golf courses, shops, restaurants, pools and bars, its a big place. We ate at the Plantation Restaurant one night and it was a ten minute drive away. The view of the sunset from our table was fantastic and the food and service were first class. Some of the restaurants are so popular that you need to book them as soon as you arrive, otherwise you may not get a table during your stay.We saw whales from the villa, which is an incredible sight and one thing to bear in mind is that the hoilday companies state that whales are in residence from December to May, this is not the case as their numbers dwindle greatly by the middle of March and we were told that we were lucky to see so many in mid April, on our whale watching trip, the tour guide told us that they hadn't seen any whales the previous day, so the eight or nine we saw were a bonus. Two other trips worth mentioning were the helicopter trip {Maverick Helicopters} and the Molokini snorkel cruise, which was a lot of fun. The Kapalua Villas are a class operation and well worth a visit. We had a great holiday and would recommend the Ocean Front Gold Villa we stayed in. The staff couldn't do enough for us and very kindly lent us towels and let us use all their facilities between vacating the villa at 11am and departing for the airport at 5pm.

Excellent stay

We had an excellent stay. Condo was clean with a great view. We could sit on our patio and watch the whales. Staff members were very friendly and most helpful. We would go back in a minute and recommend this place to anybody. Golf courses are close and loved the store on site to pick up groceries, souvenirs or even grab a quick bite at.

Would stay here again

We are a family of 4 (kids are 13 and 11). We stayed in the Bay Villas (Condo 27 B2 )for a week in March 2017. The Condo is a 2 bedroom Ocean Front Gold. My daughter's first words when we entered were: You did good Mom.. and Is that a spiral staircase???We had originally booked one bedroom Gold from Costco and when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a 2 bedroom. Reception staff was excellent and professional. It is a well run placed. The location is superb. Within 30 minutes we had seen 3 whales and a turtle from the balcony. Pool was close by and we were in walking distance to our favorite beach, Kapalua. Our condo was situated on the second and third floor. Large windows through out. We felt we were on the water. The kids had their own room with 2 beds and 2 baths. My husband and I slept upstairs in a loft area with a large bathroom on the second floor. The condo was clean and comfortable. It had a nice lounging bed/sofa on the main flour in front of the window. We also used a few times the services of the shuttle when we had lots of stuff for the beach. It was prompt and clean. Reasons I don't give it a full 5 stars:Given that this is suppose to be a Gold condo, I was disappointed with the washer and dryer. They were small and old fashion with the thing in the middle of the washer.. I could barely put more than 3 towels in there. The other reason: I felt that it lacked a few extras for the price. The kitchen had the bare minimum and there were no extras like coolers and beach stuff (not that these were advertised). We had just arrived from the Big Island where we stayed in a condo that was fully stocked (kitchen had plastic rap, plastic bags, spices, oil, etc. the garage had boogie boards, coolers, umbrellas, chairs, snorkeling gear etc.) So on that front it was a little disappointing. Finally, this is not something that can be fixed but I missed the opportunity to be able to eat outside. Some condos had enough room for a table and chairs while others had balconies which are very narrow and they fit only chairs and a side table. if this is important to you, you may want to put in a special request. All in all, this was a great place to stay and we feel truly lucky to have found it. We would not hesitate to recommend it.

Secluded and quiet

We liked the Kapalua Villas. It is a 20-minute drive from Lahaina. If you enjoy peace, quiet and serenity, then this is the place for you! We liked the Kapalua trails and the peaceful surroundings. Our villa just needed an update but it felt like a home away from home. The kitchens are fully stocked and equipped and it was really nice that we had a washer and dryer. As what the other reviewers mentioned, pick a gold villa. It is just a hit or miss because every villa is privately owned.

Amazing views and an amazing time in Kapalua!

This was my 3rd visit to Maui. We have always stayed at hotels and found it quite expensive and wanted to try something new. This time 4 of us went and we booked a Gold 2 Bedroom Ocean View villa thru the Outrigger Resorts website. It was lovely! We arrived Jan 26,2017 and stayed for 8 nights. I liked booking thru Outrigger as I only had to put a 1 night deposit to guarantee our stay rather than prepay everything months ahead. The villas are located in Kapalua which is about 15 mins north of Lahaina. This area is alittle more quiet than the Kaanapali area that I had stayed in before but so beautiful. There are several beaches that are a short drive away. We liked D.T. Fleming beach which was a short drive by the Ritz. There is a golf course, tennis, the Honolua store, several restaurants and a tour desk. There are also several hiking trails in the area to explore. Our Villa was lovely! It was located on a ridge and the units consisted of 3-4 villas in a condo community. Our villa was a 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom, loft villa with the most beautiful view! It had a nice fully equipped kitchen, large living area, dining area, washer & dryer, and large lanai with a table, chairs and chaise chairs. There was a little lanai upstairs off of the bedroom. There was a king bed in the loft bedroom & 2 twins in the other. The ocean view was so beautiful. You looked out at the isle of Molokai and to the left was the isle of Lanai. Just amazing. You could also see whales from the lanai spouting in the ocean. It was very relaxing. Our unit # was 2623.The only negative was the king mattress was alittle worn & sloped abit on one side. There was a/c and several ceiling fans to keep us cool. It was very clean and we had no problems at all. The villa was well equipped with all the basics and the store nearby was reasonable for any extras you may need. It had a covered parking spot for 1 car & extra parking available for guests visiting. There were afew communal pools areas with bbq's. There was a nice pool across the road from us. We dined at the Pineapple Grill one night. Prices were reasonable and a lovely view of sunset. There are alot of restaurants nearby. No gym unfortunately but you can get a work out walking up and down as the area is hilly.I highly recommend this property. It is good for families & couples as it is alittle quieter. Not alot of night life nearby for those who want to party. I would stay here again as it's beautiful, quiet & has lovely views. It really is paradise!
