Kihei Surfside Condo
- What's Included
This place is awesome. This is our 4th time staying there. Everyone is so nice and you get to meet so many people. We were married on the grounds there at Kihei Surfside in April, 2006. We have also stayed there in 2000, 2003 and just this year Nov. 19-30th. The place is clean, the grounds are kept very nice. We would like to go for a 5th time if we are able to. I recommend this place 100% We stayed in unit #111. We have also stayed in Unit #113.
My husband and I spent an amazing week at Kihei surfside #403. I initially found another unit through Home Away but was told that my length of stay of 5 nights was too short even though there were no stated minimum in the listing. I was dismayed to find that the majority of the listings were managed by the same individual. I was fortunate to find unit #403 available through an individual listing on the Kihei Surfside site. Our unit had an amazing view and was well stocked. The 2nd half bath was a luxury. The King bed was as comfortable as my bed at home which was a pleasant surprise. The grounds are impeccably kept. We spent many afternoons enjoys the sun and the people watching as there is a state property easement that runs the perimeter of the property. There is an active social group at the property with nightly pupus at sunset. The hotel next door has a convenience store and rentals for paddle boards, snorkels etc. there is snorkeling in front of the units. I saw no less than 8 sea turtles in our 6 night stay. the beach is a 2 minute walk away and one of the most pristine I've seen in Maui. We definitely hope to return to Kihei Surfside
The Kihei Surfside is not a luxury development. It does NOT have a lobby, restaurant, spa, pool attendant, or similar amenities. It DOES have lounge chairs outside on the grass, a communal BBQ area, and a clean pool and outside shower for rinsing. What I liked best about Surfside is its location. It is right next to a more luxury hotel, which has convenience store and a nice restaurant for food and drinks. They have a gorgeous beach for swimming and walking, and also a rocky area for snorkeling. Turtles are common there-- I saw two in one morning. The snorkeling area extends to the oceanfront of Surfside. It takes literally one minute to walk to that gorgeous beach from Surfside. The Surfside is also walking distance from the Kihei boat dock, where diving and snorkeling boats leave for Molokini island and off-shore reefs. This is about a 10 minute walk, depending on your unit and how much stuff you are carrying. I walked it several times, leaving our rental car to others in my group. About our unit: #214. The building is sliver-shaped, facilitating views for as many rooms as possible. Although we were in the farthest unit from the water, we had a lovely view of the ocean, just beyond the manicured lawn. The kitchen was recently remodeled and had all new cabinets and appliances. We had several plumbing problems, but management was very responsive and fixed it within an hour (twice). Our unit did not have AC, which is the one negative you might want to consider. It was really hot in late October. We had the fans going all the time and it was still uncomfortable at night.
We had the pleasure of staying ground floor, ocean front, in Unit 108. We initially had a problem with the TV and Elizabeth was right on it to get it remedied! We look out over a grassy area, the pool and the expansive ocean.a remarkable experience for our anniversary and the location in S.Kihei is superb!
Rented unit 202 which was a beautiful condo with most excellent views, great location and well stocked. Highly recommend this facility for a relaxing and peaceful escape. Easy beach access with great snorkeling and excellent area to enjoy sunsets and spoting turtles.
