Maui Eldorado Kaanapali by Outrigger
- What's Included
To be honest, this is a great place to stay. Nice facilities, near to the beach, clean and spacious room. But I was a bit upset because there was a hidden fee involved. After paying for a premium price to stay here, I was charged an extra cost for the cleaning fee. I feel this is a bit unfair considering that the hotel already charge such a premium cost for staying there. So probably, this is something which the management should share in advance, to prevent any inconveniences.
I would advise anyone thinking of renting at the Maui Eldorado, chose somewhere elsethe room that was rented out to me was L 101, there was mold and mildew in the master bathroom shower, we address issue with the Maui Eldorado and they said that they could do nothing about it, that these condo were private property and they had nothing to do with the rentals. also the location of Suite L 101 was was very dark area and I had to hold on for dear life to make it down a steep incline to get to my dirty suite, there are many more things to mention, which would need a chapter to write it all.Plus I had to pay a cleaning fee which was ridicules, since I had receive dirty unit , shame shame shame on the owner and the Maui Eldorado Extremely disappointed Zero stars from me.
My wife and I stayed in a King Garden View studio unit for 7 days. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. They are 3 pools, located in different areas of the resort, as well as BBQ grills and ample parking. Our bed was very comfortable, and the kitchenette was well equipped. The is also a cabana on the beach, It's a little bit of a hike, since there is a golf course between the resort and the beach, but they also offer a shuttle to take you there and pick you up when you are ready to leave. The cabana is staffed from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. There is a full kitchen available as well as a covered area with tables and chairs. There are ample lounge chairs available, and towels and beach chairs available if you prefer to sit on the beach. The scenery is very nice, it's easy to see that they spend a lot of time attending to the grounds. The staff, from the front desk, to the service staff and the grounds keepers/shuttle drivers are very friendly and helpful. This is definitely a great place to stay if you want to kick back and relax. Also, the town of Lahaina is just a couple of miles away, and there you will find the famous "Front Street", with many shops and great restaurants, and don't forget to check the block size Banyan tree. There are also ample boat tours, including whale watching tours available down at the harbor. Our next trip to Maui will definitely include booking another condo at the Maui Eldorado.
We only spent a couple of nights at the Maui Eldorado and quite enjoyed it. The new pool area was nice with a hot tub. We had a LARGE 2 bedroom suite on the golf course....beautiful view. The condo was huge. Parking was easy to find and there was even a car wash area which we used to vacuum out sand before returning the rental. (probably didn't need to but what the heck) The cabana on the beach which I'm sure you read about already is quite an attraction. It's a nice walk (10 minutes) but it's along beautiful pathways so no biggy. Plus they will golf cart you there and back if you want. There is also a free bus that goes to all the good stops in the general vicinity. Also handy for the Luau we went to. We could have stayed easily for a couple of weeks but this was the end of our trip and we only needed something for a short stay. Hotel was very quiet at night. Good area if you want to explore Lahaina or the North Shore but the island is not huge so anywhere is Ok I guess.Tour guide in the lobby was very personable and seemed to know her stuff. Have seen many many of these presentations over the years and she is one of the good ones in my books. The only drawback was the resort now charges a daily fee (much like Vegas) and I am not sure if this is now common in Maui at resorts. (first timers) We were coming from a condo arranged thru a travel site and booked this through Expedia. The daily extra resort fee wasn't a big deal but the cleaning fee also caught us a little off guard. It is the same no matter how long you stay. There is no daily maid service and they send in the cleaners when you leave and you pay $225. For two nights, this seemed high as we barely touch half the room but none the less it is what it is. We thought we had scored a decent deal even at 350 (Canadian) a night when comparing to higher end hotels. But in the end when that was tacked on the deal was no different than some of the higher end hotels in the area. We should have known and looked closer. Not upset - just made it less special
This is a great condo option with full kitchen and washer/dryer. The resort does not have daily maid service and you are expected to wash your own towels and resort will provide the soap etc. There are no restaurants except for a coffee shop but there are many options within walking distance. The resort is on the beach but about a 10 minute walk since the resort is huge and on a golf course but once at the beach there is a private cabana that has a fridge etc, plus all towel/chair service etc. The main pool was recently renovated and quite nice. Overall this is a nice resort as long as you understand it is not full service resort but the price per night is lower because of that. I would have like drink service at the pool or beach.
