this is so close to one of the finest beaches in maui, right across the street. the accomodations are good and the views are excellent.you are walking distance to some of the best places to eat and shop
Condo we stayed in was # 3205 which was booked with AA oceanfront condos. The location is great walking distance to multiple beaches, a nice park, and many restaurants and bars. The condo could use a little updating but overall had everything we needed. The customer service even worked with us the last day and allowed a late checkout of 3 PM which we greatly appreciated since our flight did not leave until 1020 PM. Overall a great stay in Maui/Kihei.
You must realize that this is a very large complex with individual owners offering their places for rent. Therefore the quality of the apartment that you rent depends on the amount of care that the owner has put into it. You can save yourself a lot of time and researching various units by simply renting Building 1 #315 in which we stayed for 5 nights. The owners here obviously have put a lot of money into making this a very nice accommodation. It is spacious and clean and has an excellent king bed. You have a very nice view of the ocean. All the furnishings appear to be of very good quality. The kitchen was excellent. It also has been retrofitted with one of those efficient all room air conditioners (compressor on lanai). Some other units have none, or just window units. You are on the main road so sitting outside on the lanai you will hear the traffic in the daytime. The mid-afternoon sun also does hit the lanai so it makes it rather hot to sit there (but we would rarely be there at that time). You will not hear the traffic in the bedroom since it is it at the back. This entire area has very nice smaller beaches and all the buildings have restrictions as to their height so therefore you are never overwhelmed, as is the case in many beach areas everywhere. Groceries and restaurants can be found very easily nearby. A pretty beach is simply about a minute away. We believe you cannot go wrong in this particular unit. We loved this area and we loved this apartment.
LOCATION: Maui Vista is located in South Kihei, right on South Kihei road. There is a number of other complexes next to it, but no shopping or dining really close. However, a short drive or few minutes of walk can get you to a number of places along South Kihei road. Foodland supermarket lies about a third of mile to the north.ROOMS: Maui Vista is a condo community with many of the rooms independently owned and operated. Unfortunately, like most communities in Kihei, Maui Vista is aging, and this one is not aging well. We stayed at room 1401, which is a unit with a loft directly facing the ocean. What more to expect? It turns out, quite a bit. The unit is updated - it has new appliances and nice bamboo floor in the living room, but still, the unit has old, drab feeling about it. There is very little natural light in bedroom and in the loft. Shower knobs are tricky to operate - at first, when we checked in and could not get the water running, it caused a little panic among us, but later, when we learned the trick, showering was not very difficult.SEA/BEACH: Maui Vista is very close to northern end of Kamaole I beach. Going there is very easy - one has to cross S Kihei road, walk a for a minute and descend to that beautiful beach. Community also has several small pools which can be accessed using a key.STAFF: General questions like parking are handled by the office in building one. Maintenance issues are handled by individual operators which you will need to call. Our operator (AA Oceanfront) was very responsive. Towards the end of our stay, they asked that a realtor would go through the unit. We agreed, and made some feeble effort to clean up, but the realtor never showed up.In the mornings, a flock of wild lovebirds liked to make a cheerful noise outside our unit.Overall, we liked the location and ambiance, but did not like the unit itself.
Close to Beach, almost every thing within couple of miles. Nice, Quiet location. Highly Recommend it. Our Condo was in Bldg 2, top floor. We enjoyed walking to The Kihei caffe for Brkfast, Local Gluten free waffle/Ice Cream/Shaved Ice shop , right nxt to the Pizza hut.
