Close to Beach, almost every thing within couple of miles. Nice, Quiet location. Highly Recommend it. Our Condo was in Bldg 2, top floor. We enjoyed walking to The Kihei caffe for Brkfast, Local Gluten free waffle/Ice Cream/Shaved Ice shop , right nxt to the Pizza hut.
We stayed in Maui Vista #3-215 to visit my girlfriends cousins who lives in Kihei. The location was fantastic, condo nice. The only issue we had were small bugs in the condo who liked to get in food..
We stayed in building three on the third floor and the ocean views were amazing. The resort is fairly quiet in the evenings as there are a lot of retirees there. Some of them have a repulsive sense of entitlement, often bullying our family members off the tennis courts. Even yelping when they hit the ball as though to emulate "professionals." That was the only problem we encountered during our stay. For that reason, I don't think it's really a great place for families. The grounds are beautifully maintained with several palm trees and flowers. The groundskeepers work tirelessly to maintain this standard. It is about a five minute walk to the beach where you will always find a spot to enjoy the day. (Faster if you are in building one.) I would definitely recommend this resort but keep in mind that the units are privately owned and vary in interior finishings. The location is perfect for walking to all amenities: shops, restaurants, groceries and of course, beaches!
The condo we got at Maui Vistas through Airbnb was very nice , clean, and stocked with everything needed for a great vacation. They included boogie boards , beach towels, sunblock, kitchen utensils and seasonings. The AC was great. But the best part of all was its proximity to everything. We were in the best part of the island , in my opinion. A walk away from Kihei cafe ( yummy) . Close to plenty of restaurants and bars. 10 mins away from wailea , and the big beach , even a black sand beach. 35 mins away from Lahaina.
We stayed at the Maui Vista 2-16 Sept 2016 in Suite 1107. The place was wonderful. Very clean , 2 a/c units one in the living room and one in the bed room, modern appliances, and all the kitchen amenities you could ever want. Even the butcher knives were sharp. What we enjoyed most was that we didn't have to go to Costco. The place has 3 boogie boards, 2 beach chairs, beach umbrella and a wide assortment of beach goodies for kids. It has a TV but we aren't sure if it worked. Also free wifi and telephone calls to anywhere in North America. The location is excellent. Literary 2 min walk to the beach. Free parking and there is a Foodland grocery store 3 blocks away with better meat deals than costco. Tell them you are a guest at the Maui Vista and they will give you the members discounts. Things we have learned about Maui...Try Huli-Huli chicken. Its the best BBQ chicken in the world.Try the Poke. It's a local delight of Raw Ahi Tuna and spices. Ask the butcher to let you sample some.Outrigger Pizza is fantastic. It was featured on Drive in Dinners and dives.Go and check out all the beaches in the area. There are some really cool places that are not busy on week days. If you're into it, Little Beach is clothing optional and is one of the nicest beaches in the area. If you are going to go Hippy , you might as well go all the way.Don't pay attention to the "DO NOT GO BEYOND THIS POINT" signs. If there is a path, take it. We have seen so many cool things just beyond this point.Rent your car from Discount Hawaii Car Rental. We had a mini van for 14 days for $350 USDWe did the morning snorkel at the Molokini Crater with Kai Kanani. It is a large sailboat that will take you out to the crater at 630 am. The boat is wonderful and the crew are on top of what they do. It is very cool to be in the water as the ocean wakes up. Tons of fish and marine wild life. They supply snacks , water coffee etc. We paid 75$ each.We did the Sunset supper at the 5 Palms restaurant. In the month of Sept they wave the corkage fee, so you can bring your own bottle(s) of wine or whatever. The food was good and the venue in outrageous. You will need to make a reservation.
