Napili Kai Beach Resort
- What's Included
This was our first time to Napili Bay, we've stayed in Kihei and Kaanapali previously. This resort was so lovely, we had a view of the pool and partial ocean. There is a mini pitch and putt golf course, fitness centre, the beach is steps away for great snorkelling. We walked on the coastal trail many times in the morning, to the Honolua Store for a coffee and back along the Kapalua Golf Course walk. The area is truly one of the most beautiful in the world. The unit was beautiful, air conditioned, full kitchen, big lanai.
We booked our stay through Donna Bender of MauiCalls. Our schedule freed up and my wife and I wanted to run away to Maui in February (without a place booked). Donna Bender jumped on our call for help and found us some wonderful options. She was responsive and polite--she did point out that it was winter in the rest of America and a little notice would be better. But she found us a place at Napili Point (right next to Napili Bay) looking down on Honokeana Bay. We spent a wonderful week watching whales and turtles. We loved the resort and our room. Thanks Donna!!
We stayed at the Napili Kai Beach Resort thirty years ago and enjoyed it. We just returned from our second visit to the resort. It was a fantastic stay. We were in a studio Ocean Front room in the Puna 2 building. It was a very comfortable room with a small kitchen. The best part was the balcony with a view of the bay and the Lanai and Mololkia. A great benefit of staying at the resort is that you can snorkel or just swim right off the hotel. There is excellent snorkeling and the bay is calm compared to other locations. Stand-up paddle boarding was also an option used by many at the resort.Since it was Easter week, there were many kids at the resort. The beach did get crowded, but there are several pools where you can lay peacefully in the sun and still have a great view of the water.I highly recommend staying here for your stay on Maui. And the sunsets were fabulous.
I had high expectations for Napili Kai after reading reviews, and the resort exceeded them all. The location is beautiful and the resort has a wonderful, relaxed feel. We saw with turtles in the cove by the resort, explored the most amazing tide pools, played put put golf, and enjoyed wonderful meals at the Sea House Restaurant. I can't wait to return!
I just returned from a week at Napili Kai with my husband and two sons, 6 and 7. I mostly hate resorts; they're cheesy at the low end and obnoxious at the high end. Napili Kai manages to feel both elegant and humble, classy and comfortable. Staff and guests alike are down-to-earth, friendly, unpretentious. It was a nice vibe for our family. Everything was easy. The main pool is right next to the beach and the boys were back and forth between them all day. No one seemed to mind their boisterousness (except me, haha). They chased lizards in the rock walls as we dined outside, which we did for most of our meals. The food is good and kids eat for free, which helps to offset the high prices. The poolside snack bar is also really convenient for kids. It's just the right amount of activity to get into a truly relaxing rhythm. I wish we'd had another week! PS Don't forget to reapply the sunscreen regularly--we all got fairly scorched.
