Outrigger Palms at Wailea
- What's Included
We have stayed at the Palms in Wailea for the past 4 years. and have already prebooked our vacation to escape our Canadian winter for 2018. Quiet but relaxing and if that is what youre after then this is the place for you.
I would not recommend this condo. Upon arrival the condo was found to be dirty, needed dusting, etc. There were no cushions on the lounge chairs on the balcony and the barbecue was dirty, and did not work properly. Even the barbecue utensils were all rusty which made us actually afraid to even try to use the barbecue or the tools in their present condition. We worked hard to clean the barbecue and did use it but were very unsatisfied. These problems were rectified by the barbecue being replaced and new cushions bought at Walmart being put on the loungers but it did take a couple of days. One of the fans is held together with black tape so we did not even use it. The cupboard doors don't close properly, hinges are rusted out at the bottom and we did not come all this way to be handymen. The burners on the stove are terribly lopsided and nothing sits on them straight. The house phone does not work. It is dead as soon as you pick it up! We were under the impression that the beaches and shopping were within walking distance. This is not the case unless you are 20 years old and in tip top shape. There is no way we could haul lawn chairs, etc. down to the beach and walk back up hill to the condo. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice and in good working order. Washer, dryer and dishwasher worked well. The disappointing aspects of our vacation was that we were misled regarding the location of the condo and the view as well as the condition of the suite. The balcony was extremely dirty with bird droppings and we had to spend time cleaning before we could begin our much needed holiday. In conclusion - the pictures on the website are very misleading.
My husband recently stayed at the Palms at Wailea for 2 weeks. The condo had a fabulous layout, designed to catch all the lovely Hawaiian breezes. The furniture was very comfortable - not the standard rattan stuff you see in so many beach condos. There is a grill on every lanai. The complex is quiet, beautiful and well maintained. We will likely stay here again.
Yes as Inam sure a number of people have said , there are some old features at the Palms but the located covers a lot of this or has for us. The other feature that really helps with the stay are Matt , manager and his staff are great , friendly and knowledgable . We were staying at another location this January but came by to check on a June all family vacation for our 50th. When my wife and I walked it the desk clerk went right to the computer and looked up with questions in her eyes. She said Did I miss something I do not see you coming in today. She had remembered us from our last visit. Now how many places have you stayed at more than once did the front desk know who you where when all you did was walk in? The staff will swing your votes and star marking . Now they grounds are outstanding , the pool a bit small but area around is confortable and you are only 10-15 minute walk to a beach or 5-10 minutes by car to 2 or three beaches. Come and enjoy. Stayed every other year for the past 8 years. This was our off year this year 2017.
This resort has amazing lawns and a lovely tranquil setting. We couldn't hear the traffic and the place was not very busy. The grounds keepers do a lovely job of keeping things looking pristine. The units themselves are very spacious and basic. Ours was very clean and although a bit plain, was certainly comfortable. We had everything we needed to cook with and were given extra soaps etc as needed.
