Outrigger Palms at Wailea
- What's Included
I had the wicked Arnold Palmer (vodka iced tea) and very specially marinated ribs and it was delicious! All seats at the bar, or happy hour are reserved or seated by the host. The Happy Hour prices are great! and the appetizer are very filling. Nice atmosphere, view, music, TV's. Definitely coming again!
Unfortunately our stay here at the palms at Wailea was not as great as everyone else's that have reviewed this place. We stayed here for a week as that is what we had booked and paid for prior to arriving, we arrived on a Monday and within the first hour of being there we got broken into! Seems suss?? We agree as its not a place that you can randomly drive by and how did they know we were arriving on that day and at that time (late afternoon). They came through a window that we believed had been left open by someone.? Window screen broken and lying on the floor when we came back from our swim which we did 10 mins after arriving - 45mins later we went back to our room to that! Police dusted for fingertips around the window. Have to let you know that as we stayed the whole week in that room, no one came down to fix the screen, clean up the fingerprint dust and it took 2 days to be offered another room!No help from staff they didnt want to know about it! No management on site to help with anything, we didnt see a manager the whole time we were there! Obviously with all credit cards and money taken on the first night we asked if we could charge some food back to our room so we could feed our kids until we received emergency funds.... NO! was the answer we received. Can you believe that! Asked on the Tuesday if we could use a computer to download new passport forms to be told " you will need to go to an internet cafe" So no money, no ID and no food and No help from the palms at Wailea!!!Here in NZ our hotel staff would bend over backwards to help anyone that this happened too on their premises but not this place - we even had to call 911 ourselves as the receptionist didnt want to know.So yes a beautiful place but you could find probably better service in another beautiful resort around Maui as there are many!
The Palms at Wailea is in a fantastic location, walking distance to some of the most beautiful beaches in Maui. It's also located minutes from Kihea and numerous great restaurants in the area. The 2BR, 2BA condo is large with a huge living area and lanai, plenty of space for our family of 4. We lucked out with a unit that has a fantastic ocean view and updated decor. The lanai is nice and roomy, complete with a Weber grill. The unit comes with AC for an additional $20 per day. The AC was broken the first 3 days we were there and during one of the hottest and most muggy time of the summer. Customer service is very apologetic and helpful, providing us with an additional fan to help cool the space and also refunded the AC fee. Service is limited and unlike other hotels or resorts, you take out your own trash, clean your own space, make your own bed and replenish your supplies. Unit comes with beach chairs, umbrella and mats. We brought a compact cooler along but you can buy a nice cooler at Costco for $6.99. The pool is small and quiet. Landscape is lush and the grounds are well cared. Having a washer/dryer unit is great, since we're also island hopping and didn't have to pack too much. It was great to have a spacious condo in a great location to enjoy our week in Maui.
The Palms is an absolutely beautiful bunch of condos with the pool being just as amazing sadly that is where the story ends for my family and I. Within 10 minutes of our arrival we were robbed. We arrived in the condo and decided to all go to the pool thinking at how beautiful and secluded these places looked we were stupid enough to leave our belongings all out in the open stupid i know but you would think after only just arriving the place would be secure...WRONG!!! Coming back after a quick dip at the pool only taking 30 minutes we had come back to the window being broken into with all of our stuff gone!!!! jewelry, shoes, clothes, credit cards/money and even passports gone.Running up to reception to find no help was given we had to deal with it all ourselves they even were against us using there computer to print important documents. With all of our money gone we were sitting there starving for the night it took our family at home to ring the outrigger company complaining and threatening for us to get some food as we were told there was no possible way we could get anything charged back to the room. None of the staff were willing to help. After the robbery our window was broken and we didn't get offered to move rooms at all we didn't get anyone coming down to ask if we were ok!!!! disgusting No manager was seen by me or my family until days later but only then did we get a cleaning manager and a property manager who were again no help just were only interested in crossing things off there own lists to protect themselves they also only came to visit us as we were again on the phone complaining to the outrigger company itself who decided to send those clowns in. The manager told the staff on reception to give us $100 so we could get food only to find out that on the day we were checking out that it was only a loan and we had to repay that money back what a joke as we only had enough money to get to the airport that day!!Im not a professional or a cop but those windows in our condo were left open for these thieves to come in and take everything. We were told no way could that be a possibility as housekeeping shut everything for new guests but two of our windows were left open and for only being there for 5 minutes we were watched upon our arrival i mean how else did they know what turn to go down as the Palms has about 4 different streets with condos but that begs the question how did they know we would be staying in that room and how did they know that the windows would be left open for them to come inside i wonder.......
We are a family of 4. We have been to Hawaii 3 times now. We were in MAUI from July 24 to August 4, 2017. We absolutely loved our condo at the Palms at Wailea. Our unit was very clean and completely renovated. A lot of living space (2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms) and a great patio for the BBQ. We could walk to the beach (10 min) and the pool was also very close (2 min). A very good choice for a family vacation ! This complex of condo units is very well maintained. Please keep it this way!
