Sugar Beach Resort
- What's Included
We chose this property because of the location. Being my first trip to Maui I wanted a launch point that was easy to get to areas around the island. For that purpose, this is a great spot. Our 6th floor recently remodeled unit was perfect in every way. Clean, ready early for check in and no problems throughout. Check in and out was easy and efficient. The ocean water at this spot is not your perfect Maui blue water. The wind stirs the sand up. We were snorkeling at other sites as we toured the island so it wasn't a big problem. The pool area is nice and well maintained. There are grills near the pool which are maintained well. There is a little bar/sandwich shot onsite which was outstanding!!! Good prices and big drinks!
We stayed here on our honeymoon, room 430. This was rented through homeaway.com so we did not experience the housekeeping or room service as you normally would. Our interaction with the front desk was always very pleasant though when we checked in and got our parking pass. The grounds are beautiful! The views are amazing with the islands in the distance. The beach may be small but it is what we needed. The pool is very nice as well. We thought the location was perfect! Some may say Lahaina is the place to stay but we feel as if Kihei is more central overall to the island. Less traffic with still many places to eat or shop right down the road.
We stayed here for 7 nights and loved it. We were in condo 534. The view is fantastic and the beach is right there! The condo is nice and totally comfy. And the shower was great with good pressure and a good shower head. The king bed mattress was firm which we loved. The location is perfect because it's in the middle of the island with quick easy access to all parts of the island. The grounds are nice but not fancy and the pool is nice as well but not extravagant. The beach is nice but not as beautiful as some of the others around the island. This is a great place to stay for those who like to explore but want a nice room.
Great condo complex, we are visiting again in September. Very good rates but pool is going to be closed. For two weeks after Labor Day week.So nice for rental agency I use to let me know about pool closure and offer lower rate. We are ocean lovers do not need the pool.
We have been to Sugar Beach Resort, Kihei, several times. Each visit seems to blend seamlessly into our digital Rolodex of memories until as years pass we have steady stream of splendid memories, of sights and sounds, of old acquaintances and new that we can recall and revisit on demand.I just read a review of room 317 from October, 2104.We stayed in room 317 in November this past year and were very pleased with everything the suite had to offer.Everything one could hope to have in a reasonably priced room in Maui is here for one to enjoy. The ocean views extend along the horizon east and west, and the melodious strains of the ocean surf rise up to greet you as soon as you open the patio door. This room is located on the East side of the hotel. From the patio once has a fine view of a section of beach that is frequented by guests throughout the day as the waters are calm and the beach is lovely. I swam and floated for many an hour in the waters just in front of the balcony while my loving wife enjoyed marathon Yoga sessions on the Lanai once or twice daily. We were completely satisfied with the room. The Hotel itself is not new and one can not hide that fact, but nevertheless there is really nothing to hide. The people we have encountered each visit are wonderful! We always find that many of the visitors are from in or around the Lower Mainland of Vancouver, B.C,. Another great number of the visitors seem to come from either Washington State, Vancouver Island or Alberta, Canada. The pool, albeit not expansive has everything one's heart could desire. Located just steps from the beach and even closer to Sugar Beach Hotel's array of outdoor barbecues.Take the time to mingle as many guests do, (around the BBQ) at night and you won't be disappointed with the company assembled there. We have been to other hotels on the island that are more expensive and are in more exclusive areas but I would not recommend staying at any of them in place of Sugar Beach Resorts Maui. The stretch of beach in front of the resort is perhaps the best reason for staying at this location. Costco is about 12 miles due north and there are several other stores and strip malls due East of the resort including a gym that will fill your needs.Go to Maui and stay at Sugar Beach Resorts and based on our years of experience having done so, you will be delighted with the ambience: rooms, guests, locale, weather and anything / everything else your feet might tread upon or eyes gaze upon.Enjoy, we always do!We are planning to return this November.Aloha
