Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas
- What's Included
We were a little disappointed at check in when we weren't able to upgrade to a 1 bedroom unit. It was a pleasant surprise to find the studio unit everything we needed for our stay, including a cooktop for preparing meals and a large refrigerator with an ice maker. We were expecting just a microwave and small undercounted fridge.
Westins are very good, very consistent, and usually expensive hotels. They're also almost always well worth the money. If you want inexpensive, go to the Residence Inn. If you want great quality of many not-so-little things (such as great showers, sinks, and faucets), a terrifically comfortable bed and pillows, thick towels, and quality amenities, you can't go wrong with Westin. The Westin Kaanapali Villas are no different. They have a great pool (pools plural, actually), multiple restaurants, and a serviceable store for villa visitors. The location is directly on the beach just north of Kaanapali, and the grounds are enchanting. The open air lobby gives off a total Maui vibe of relaxation and refinement. Don't miss the lighting of the tiki torches around the property at 6 pm nightly by a native-clad runner with a torch. Its awesome.Westins have a bit of a fetish with white tea, which I could care less about, but it's everywhere. The scent is in the lobby, the toiletries are all scented with white tea, and the soap is shaped like a tea leaf. I personally think that's a little over the top, but it's their shtick. OK - I can live with it.Everything about Westin is just tight: I rarely find deferred maintenance in my room or the property. The TV's are always brand name flat screens with great selections. The air conditioner works and doesn't sound like a semi truck. The restaurants are functional (albeit rarely excellent). However, be advised that they are not inexpensive. Breakfast can easily run to $30 per person - higher with the admittedly good buffet - but you can always find better value in the area. However, it is very convenient and always OK or better. This particular property at Kaanapali, however, has a very excellent restaurant with a very talented young chef. It's an Italian themed restaurant (Pulehu) with an Italian-heritage chef from New York State. Do yourself a favor, and try the bruschetta and risotto. It's awesome.I probably stay in more Westin Hotels than any other brand (as of this writing, over 791 lifetime nights in Starwood hotels). I'm familiar with them, comfortable with them, and rarely disappointed in them.Strongly recommend.
This is our 6th visit to the Westin Kaanapali Ocean resort Villas. It is our favorite destination. We were able to snorkel on the beach in front of our property and saw a turtle. The villas are well decorated and comfortable. Nice beds and bathrooms.
SABRINA Armijo was awesome taking care of us in our gazebo! SABRINA made sure we had everythi g we needed all day. She brought an extra chase lounger, water, towels and all with a great smile and greast attitude.
The Westin resort is amazing beautiful resort on north side. Evan and Todd at North side of pool were exceptional. Would recommend this resort just because of the pool service!! I give them a 10 star if I could!!
