This hotel has changed a bit since 1987. This place needs a refurbishment or knocking down. We arrived and had no towels but we got some when we went back down to reception. We were not aware of the building site until we opened the curtains. We asked at reception for the building site hours 9-4. However the next morning were awoken at 6 am by drilling and digging. However the pool was nice were surprised at the deepness . The beds were clean and comfy. Location was excellent right on the beach. Parking was expensive for what it was across the road in a puddle.
This resort has seen better times but the location is very good. Rooms are clean. Corridors a bit creepy, old elevator. Nice pool area. Complicated and few parking spaces. Directly at the beach. Reasonable prices.
Never in my life have I ever had to deal with more disrespectful un-hospitable people. I approached the front desk and first was not greeted with a smile. I gave the young girl my name along with my credit card and ID. I told her that my dad made reservations for me through Expedia and that it was under his name. I was immediately rudely cut off by her coworker, who I'm convinced was her mother, and said "no we can't check you in if it's not your name". You know, this wouldn't have been a problem if this would have been told to me with respect and a hospitable tone. This lady told me this with a gross attitude. Never in my life have I been spoken to in such a demeaning way. I responded to her and said okay let me call my dad, and instead of the girl who was taking care of me asking me if it would be okay to take the next guest as I called my father, she simply motioned for the next guest with her hand (EVEN THOUGH THAT PERSON COULD HAVE WAITED BECAUSE THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE BEHIND HER). As furious as I was, I got my dad on the phone and asked the "mother" (rude lady) if she could speak to him and she RUDELY and rolling her eyes so "no there's nothing i can do". I was livid. Did I mention it was my birthday and this was a birthday gift from my parents?? Yea. Lovely way to be treated. I also have a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and have worked in hotels for 3 years. Back to the situation, my father had to call Expedia to change my name on the reservation and they were great. When I went back to tell the young girl that Expedia sent over a fax because the hotel's email also wasn't working, the "mother" RUDELY interrupted again to hand me the keys by saying "here you go". I kindly said thank you as I did not feel like letting this disgusting treatment get affect me on my birthday. I don't understand how this hotel is running. I only stayed one night but during my stay I had to call for maintenance 3 times because the toilet was broken. The hotel itself is extremely run down but if the front desk had at least decent customer service, this could have been avoided. I hope Wyndham Hotel Group gets involved and takes care of this hotel that has so much potential to generate a great amount of revenue as it is centered in the beautiful Sunny Isles.
We went for vacation, looking for good shopping, beach, rest and tranquility. We did make shopping, we went to the beach, and that's it. Upon getting there the first morning we were woken up by heavy machinery from the construction site right outside our room window. We asked to be moved, but the answer was that we had to pay for a better room. They never notified us of this nor mitigated by giving us a special price for this situation. We felt ripped off. I won't review the rooms because there's plenty about this from other guests and it's no good. But we knew what to expect and what not to expect in that regard because we had stayed there in 2015. The beach, was another chapter. There's was guest playing very loud music all over the place. Hotel Security asked them to turn it off and once the security clerk was gone they would turn it back on again. Very bad behaved people, rude, unrespectful. We had to leave the beach because the noise was unbearable. Won't stay here again.
This was the worst hotel experience I have ever experienced. No elevators were working to the forth floor and my room.Door lock to my room repeatedly malfunctioned.Parking very expensive. Personnel, impolite and absent from their post.Adjacent property, very noisy.STAY AWAY
