Deauville Beach Resort
- What's Included
OverviewDeauville Beach Resort is a historic hotel ideally situated in the heart of Miami Beach, where Frank, Dino and Sammy romped and John, Paul, George and Ringo made history. The resort has over 700 ft. of sun-drenched, white sand beach, a beautiful oversized pool, and sweeping Atlantic Ocean vistas.
I spent here the last week of December with my family. The rooms are big enough for 4 people, 2 adults and 2 kids. The hotel is on the wonderful beach of Miami. There is a big pool and a bar where you can eat delicious food.We come back the last 3 days of our holiday in Florida because we really loved the location. We booked by phone and Carmen, a very nice lady who speaks Italian (thank God!!) found us a room with an amazing ocean view. Carmen has been very kind, as all the other people who work there. We will definitely come back next year!
From the moment you walk in, you feel like an inconvenience to the staff, especially if you are an English speaker. The man at the front desk was so unwelcoming and our welcome into the hotel consisted of being told that we would have to pay 25 dollars a day for wifi and towels for the beach. My internet at home does not even cost 25 dollars a month. The rooms were dirty, the carpet clearly hasn't seen a Hoover since it was fitted and the bathroom, let's not even go there, dirty, marks and hair in the bath and around the basin. Everything is very dated but that doesn't mean it can't be kept clean. The internet didn't actually work during my stay and did complain to the front desk and their answer was a very disinterested, oh! My only positive would be that the beds were very comfortable and clean. Please avoid this hotel, as someone who has been to Miami many times, there are much better hotels you can stay in, you will receive better service and not feel like an inconvenience for staying there.
We booked into this hotel for three nights prior to joining our cruise around the Caribbean. We booked the hotel as an extra to the cruise and booked through our travel agent in the UK and this was paid through the agent. We did not expect to have an extra 25 dollars per day manditory fee to pay to the hotel. This fee was apparently for wi-fi, use of the sunbeds and towels, gym etc which in a hotel in the UK would be all included in the price quoted. Unfortunately because the weather wasn't great we did not get to use the pool or sunbeds and didn't use the gym either.Apparently a lot of hotels in the United States are jumping on the band waggon and charging this fee. I wonder what visitors to Britain would say if we started charging these fees. However to get back to the hotel most of the staff on reception were very pleasant. We did consider upgrading to a room with a view of the ocean but were informed that this would be an extra 50 dollars per day. The hotel was perfectly clean and our room was comfortable and spotless. Just one thing the water in the shower was tepid and on mentioning this at reception they sent someone up to have a look. Once again very pleasant but gave us the weak excuse that the water was this temperature for chldren? We didn't take this further as we were leaving the next day but I would advise someone to look into this further. We were booked in for continental breakfast and this was adequate, the dining room was very pleasant as were the staff. Overall enjoyed the stay but would not rush back as the prices for drinks in the hotel were extortionate,
It was OK. The room was OK, clean sheets, clean floor, but the mirror in the bathroom was an exception, the details are important, people! . We had a great view and it was really big. The elevators were a little bit slow, but in general the hotel was ok.The reception was always crowded and NEEDS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF.The beach is good, not stunning.
I stayed at the hotel in May 2016 and the hotel is old. The air vents in the bathroom was full of mold and lint, like a very clogged dryer vent. The updates in the bathroom has large plops of silicone to seal the mirror to the sink counter top. Very poorly done updates. In Miami, I know there are many craftsman however, they used the worst of them to do updates on the hotel. Also, my room had sand ants in it and we were on the 9th floor. How do ants get up that high? This hotel did not meet my expectations and I am saddened that I stayed in the hotel. However, the rate was ok. I should have looked into air BNB.
