Conny Ragone was a Great Help

Our wedding reception had been scheduled for August 5th in the Jazz Room or the Deauville. We met with Conny to reserve the hall, to have a tasting of menu, and to take a second look at the hall when we wanted to pick a color scheme for our event. Nine days before our wedding, Conny called me to informed me that the Deauville had been temporarily closed due to an electrical problem that left the hotel in the dark. Seeing that the problem was taking longer than expected, she made phone calls to nearby hotels, and took us to see various venues that were similar to the Jazz Room. Even when our money had been returned by the Deauville and we had transferred our party to another hotel Conny continued to work with us. She worked with the new catering manager to make sure all our original wishes were fulfilled. The new hotel did not allow us to set up and decorate the night before, so the morning of the wedding I took the boxes full of decorations and props so she could do the set up herself. When my husband and I entered the hall during cocktail hour we were astounded by the way everything looked. Everything was in the right place and the whole place looked better than I expected. She had even gone back to our place to pick up the place-cards I had forgotten in the rush. Personally I think she could do very well as a self-employed wedding planner, but the Deauville is very lucky to have her. She was working up to twelve hours straight to make sure things went smoothly for us. She was relentless and it was thanks to her dedication and tenacity that we were able to have the wedding of our dreams.

Bad quality hotel, friendly staff

Great service from Carmen and Chris when we arrived, and the staff was friendly. But the hotel overall is very noisy (massive groups of teenage girls running around the hotel), the room had this horrible humidity smell that wouldn't go away, and every facility of the hotel was super crowded. I wouldn't go back to the hotel.

By far the worth Motel every

I can not call this a hotel. very bad customer service. Take it from me don't trust the pictures. Don't waste your money there are a lot better hotels around. The worth place ever. Stay are trust me you will be frustrated with the way the rooms are and the customer service specially the general manager. I don't think she ever dealt with a costumer issue before in her life.

Extremely rude security guard, mistreated, and nice MOD

I was treated deplorable by a security guard for reading after hours in what he called the "office area" amd interrogater about my guest status at the hotel. My sweater was lost there and never found, and the manager (MOD) directly gave me permission to read at will in the lobby area after hours until morning. He was uninformee but I was interoogated amd reprimanded as if I a homeless person found in a guest room. While not techniclly an overnight guest, my family is good long time friends with a room owner here who invited us to visit as we please sinceyou childhood, but more importantly the organization I'm very involved with has a contract renting out a ballroom 365 days a year at this location, meeting daily, and as part of that org, I often have to stay out late and read up quietly. To treat me like a child and essentiallyrics tell me I can't stay a few hours, after each meeting and read quietly to myself, or ask, is wildly disrespectful, and goes against what we're about. Maybe because I look young and am female, and don't dress like a girl ready to go clubbing. But I'm treated like a homeless prostitute in the worst way possible. Please fix this, hotel, if you want a better honest review. I'm in the hospitaily industry, and my group makes you lots of daily, year round revenue. What a shame. The hotel is otherwise fine, but I haven't gone back since to my extreme and expensive inconvenience, and a once recommended spot is now held in justifiable derision. Kudo so to the sweet young, glasses faced, front desk/MOD manager who treated me with professionalism and respect, and lethe me sit a while to read. He is such a good credit to the hotel and reflects the courtesy and professionalism I'm used to in the luxury hotel industy here. Please promote him, someone. He makes you look good. The second star is for him and the female dark skinned security guard. What class they represent.

Terrible - worst stay ever

The worst hotel (motel, hostel) I ever stayed in my entire life. Just terrible. We booked our room well in advance while most travellers' opinions were either average or good with negative ones focused on lack of cleanliness in some of the rooms and positive ones focused on location. As we planned to stay for two nights only and the location was our priority we decided to give it a go and book a more expensive room hoping that it will reduce chances of getting one of the older rooms that may show some wear and tear. Well - we were wrong. So where to start?Rooms - the photos shown are edited... as mentioned in some of the reviews, our room was dirty and bathroom infested with mould - disgusting but still bearable though - we only wanted to get a good sleep in our room so this wasn't the biggest issue ... Service - just terrible - staff members were very rude and unprofessional, communicating with front staff in English was sometimes an issue too. Wi-fi - what wi-fi? Terms of stay - some seem to be unfair - I still feel uncomfortable with potential charges that this hotel could decide to charge from my credit card at management's discretion especially after reading some other recent reviews and issues that other travellers encountered - for example a note left in our bathroom said that any towels that are not left in a bath at the end of stay are charged at various rates - something like $20-50 a piece ... we left all the towels inside the bath and took photos of the room before and after - "just in case". Pool - overcrowded Comfort - hmm that was one of our biggest issues, mainly due to noise issues. Our stay wasn't relaxing at all. You can hear everything that is happening outside your room - it might have something to do with a 2cm gap between the floor and bottom of the doors or the fact that there's no carpet in the corridor that could potentially reduce any outside noise. In normal circumstances maybe it wouldn't be a big issue but the hotel was full of teenage girls groups (15-16 yo) who were drinking and running between the rooms @ 1 - 2 am in the morning - the door closing sound effect was super annyoing. Our request for a different room on a different floor was ignored and the security just wasn't capable to manage it all - apparently these groups are there for an entire summer so be aware... Highlight of a stay - on our second night just when we managed to fall asleap, we were woken by a false fire alarm set off at 2 am by one of the teenagers by accident (at least this is what we were told at the reception). The alarm went off for a while so a lot of guests started to evacuate by taking stairs (as you would expect in case of a fire) - with an exception of some of the holidaying teenagers who were hoping to evacuate by taking a lift ... just scary to think what would happen if this was a real one and those girls would have been left there waiting for a lift with no adult assistance - after all there was no one on that level to supervise them. It's not a hotel issue but just gives a bit of a picture how badly managed these groups are.
