Deauville Beach Resort
- What's Included
OverviewDeauville Beach Resort is a historic hotel ideally situated in the heart of Miami Beach, where Frank, Dino and Sammy romped and John, Paul, George and Ringo made history. The resort has over 700 ft. of sun-drenched, white sand beach, a beautiful oversized pool, and sweeping Atlantic Ocean vistas.
One of the worst hotel experiences I have had in over 50 years as a traveling professional! Should be an iconic property on Miami Beach... It is NOT!!! Rooms are horrible... Bugs everywhere... Food is awful...Air Conditioning only works some of the time... Management is non existent... Stay somewhere else on the Beach!!!
We booked the hotel last spring for my brothers family for the end of October and again for another few days in November. In August, I happened to be in Miami and noticed the hotel was closed to all guests. I understood there was a fire and it was closed and would reopen in a few days. I tried calling multiple times to check what was happening. Finally after no response through email and calling 10-15 times I finally spoke to someone. Luckily, I decided to cancel the reservation and book at another nearby hotel. Although I received a confirmation number I was worried that it wasn’t really logged properly. On the day that my brothers family “would “ have checked in, I received an emailing claiming that they were closed due to damage from hurricane Irma, I wouldn’t be charged. But what really closed the hotel was it the fire or the hurricane? Strangely enough our apartment which is next to it didn’t have Hurricane Irma damage. I was so lucky I cancelled the reservation and felt so bad for all those who flew to Miami expecting a place to stay and they only receive a crappy email the same day they are to check in. It’s terrible customer service. Deauville, can you imagine the anger and frustration of all guests who fly from Europe to discover that they no longer have a hotel reservation? Do the right thing, stop accepting reservations and call the people well in advance so that they can book elsewhere. This is shameful.
I will give this hotel a 0, we had previously stated there at least 3 times previously & so we booked from Oct 1st thru the 6th, when we got to the hotel, it was closed & the cancellation from the hotel came on an email as we were arriving at the hotel, needless to say we were disgusted, we were told to go to another hotel where there was a rep from the Deauville which told us they were very sorry, I asked if the hotel had been closed since July, why were we able to make reservations on July 6th & then later on didn't even get a cancellation notice until we actually got to the hotel, of course he did not have an answer, he went on to say they will probably reopen in January or February, told him they will never ever get my business again & I am sure many people are probably just as upset as we were, told him they were a whole bunch of unproffesionals who did not even give a hoot about their regular customers, Do yourselves a favor, DO NOT BOOK AT THIS HOTEL.
We have stayed at the hotel numerous times, and always enjoyed our stay. However, on August 15 we arrived to find the hotel closed. We were extremely upset, to say the least, as we had not been informed of this (the fire occurred about 3 weeks prior to our arrival). We were met outside and directed to the Sea Coast, and told they would accommodate us. However, the person at the Sea Coast told us that they had no record of our reservation as all records had been destroyed in the fire, and they could not accommodate us. So at 8 pm, we found ourselves stranded and had to make other arrangements. Very poor customer service indeed. I hope when the hotel re-opens they install a reservation system with back-up in case of emergency.I also hope management reads my review and responds appropriately.
We stayed at this hotel prior to our Cuba cruise in July. My expectations weren't too high, but I have to say I was nicely surprised. The property had been upgraded and had a clean and nice crisp retro look. Beautiful retro fitted lobby area. Our room was nice clean and offers a beautiful partial view of he ocean. Breakfast was great! It offered a lot of options and variety. The area offered many restaurant options. Highly recommend it!
