Beautiful hotel in a great location

We enjoyed everything about this hotel. Front desk staff was couteous and even offered us a free upgrade to the 28th floor without asking. We had amazing bay and city views. Loved looking out at Biscayne Key and watching the yachts go by. The room was clean, comfortable, and smelled really good. The pool was great (despite the fact that construction was going on). We ordered drinks and and some tasty food at the pool and received good service. Valet can get very crowded but we never had to wait more than a few minutes for our car. We also enjoyed the beautiful art in the lobby and free coffee in the mornings. I believe they also offer free wine but we weren't able to make it downstairs during that time period. Overall an 'epic' stay. Would definitely stay here again.

a wonderful hotel

I am currently staying at the Epic in a lovely corner suite.the check in with Tanisha (?) was wonderful. She went out of her way to make everything so easy for me. an excellent jobThe room itself is great with a wonderful balcony beautiful views, spacious, lovely bathroom etcthe linens need upgrading of which they changed mine right away when requested. We had dinner at their restaurant Area 31 and it was very very god, only matched by the server Dawn who made us so comfortable as well.I had a small issue that the Hotel Manager, Fernando Rivera, did an outstanding job of handling me and making me feel very well served.I look forward to coming back as everyone here has a smile and 5 star servicecongratulations to the management and Kimpton

The worst

This place is a dump . The outside is nice but the rooms are bad . Overpriced for what you get . The parking is $40 a night and you have to valet which is inconvenient . It takes the valets about 15 minutes to get your car . Other parking garages close by are almost as expensive .

Rude Front Desk Attendant

I've stayed at a fair number of upscale hotels, and this was the oddest experience I've had with a front desk member.During check-in, the front desk attendant Allison seems fake-polite and smarmy. That's fine--I just want to get to my room. But then, as I'm leaving, I ask her if there's anywhere in the hotel I can buy a swimsuit. She replies, "There's a shop on the 16th floor...but...it's TOO EXPENSIVE for you. There's a Macy's and Ross Dress for Less nearby."Excuse me? Did I just walk into that scene from Pretty Woman? I've never gotten such a randomly judgmental and passive aggressive comment from a front desk attendant before. It was so bizarre. Other cons of the hotel: beds aren't very comfortable, the front desk checked me into a room with 2 double beds even though I was a solo traveler, and the pool was closed for renovationsPros of the hotel: located in the center of downtown, the restaurant Zuma is located on the first floor, deep soaking tub in the bathroom, I was able to check-in earlier because I had an early flightOverall, there are better options in Miami.

Double charge to my credit card, nobody cares about it!

I stayed this hotel from July 1st to 3rd.I paid in advance using AAA. Then, at checkout they charged again. I noticed few days later when I checked my credit card and saw double charges.I contacted the hotel 4 times by phone, talked to Cristel and Matia by phone. They gave their emails. I sent emails showing my credit card statement and my AAA reservation. Then they just said: oh, on my system you did not paid twice. Well, I am not an Epic employee so I cannot access the hotel system to check. What I know is that I sent many emails, nobody answered me.In fact, they don't care about customer. It is my personal conclusion. I sent today the last email trying to receive the refund for extra charges and if I dont receive my money, next week I will sue.Patience is something that we must exercise to the extreme, however, when it's over, no excuse is accepted. I am sorry Epic, but I will not staying with you anymore.
