Holiday Inn Miami Beach
- What's Included
I had an excellent one-night stay here at the Holiday Inn Miami Beach. Joel at the desk was very patient and helpful in meeting my requests. Also, the beachfront access was excellent. I enjoyed the hammocks and the many lounge chairs to soak up the Florida sun. There are many restaurants and coffee shops nearby, so plenty to do. It's also a short Uber ride to South Beach. Anyway, I did enjoy the colorful hallway carpet. The rooms were clean, but a bit dated. The flat screen was brand new, though, and very nice. Comfy and clean beds. The boardwalk was nice, too.
Everything is like going back to the 70's Holiday Inns. Stayed here for a business meeting and the meeting rooms were very nice. Breakfast sucks. The bar in the lobby sucks. The pool is adequate. The boardwalk is great. Miami Beach is fantastic. This place needs desperate work. The people who work here know it, and they are super accommodating for reasonable requests. It reminds me of a Spring Break hang out.
I was looking for something on the boardwalk and this was perfect. I thought overall it was a good choice. First impression when I walked into the room was fresh, clean smelling and attractive. My sister thought the curtains looked like they belonged in a circus but I did not mind them and the color of the walls looked very nice with them. The bathroom sink did leak onto the bathroom floor. The plumbing could be seen if you bent over to look for the leak. Need a new plumber, very unattractive. Great hammocks, pool to cold so used the neighboring pool next door. You can just walk right over to it. The price of the rooms could have been more reasonable but it is on the boardwalk. That is what I enjoyed. We walked that for miles in swimsuits, catching the rays and stopping for refreshments and lunch along the way. This is a great way of life. The beach has a lot of seaweed on it but it is the green thing to do. Creates a better environment for all. We came off a cruise and paid $65. to get from the port to this hotel. ( 6 OF US WITH LOTS OF LUGGAGE) The fine men who took care of our luggage while waiting for our rooms said we should have called the day before our arrival and they could have arranged to pick us up. So many places to stay. This hotel is mid Miami Beach. More restaurants further south. Enjoyed our stay.
I gave this hotel a three star because of the friendly staff and service. As far as the decor and our hotel room, I wouldn't give any. We wanted to sit in the lobby area one evening during our stay. However, the furniture was so filthy dirty and smelled so badly we couldn't. Our hotel room furniture was just as dirty and there was plaster breaking away at the wall around the electrical socket to plug the iron in. I must say the bed and pillows were very comfortable. We had a partial ocean view and could see cruise ships and the pool from the window. We really enjoyed the view of the ocean. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet.
Clean and friendly hotel with easy access to the beach. It was great how we were able to go to the sister hotel next door and use the heated pool. A great outdoor bar attached the two sister hotels. Great stay!
