Holiday Inn Miami Beach
- What's Included
We recently stayed at the Holidat Inn for 1 night. We choose the Holiday Inn because it's our go to hotel for quick overnight stays. They are usually updated, clean and have decent food. This hotel needs to be updated and the food was just ok. Our room was very small. When you walk into the room the bathroom sink is to the left and the bathroom with a toilet and shower is to the right. Weird to have the sink in your entrance. The rug seemed dirty and the blow dryer burnt out while I was using it! My mother had a ocean view room and her room was bigger and much nicer. I think the rooms need to remodeled. The good thing about this hotel is that they don't charge a resort fee which is one of the reasons we choose it. After walking the boardwalk and looking at the other hotels that do charge a resort fee our grounds by athe pool was might nicer. Also, if you eat at the restaurant look at your bill, they add gratuity. We didn't know and they didn't tell us so we gave a 2nd tip without knowing. I went back to the restaurant with all my receipts and they did give me back my money. Would I stay here again, I don't think so. I would try another hotel unless they get an upgrade.
I spent a week in June 2017 at this hotel, and perhaps because I'm used to staying at ultra-clean and modem Japanese hotels, it made a greater impression on me. But this hotel really needs a refurbishment. Everywhere the paint is starting to yellow, in my room especially. The discolored ceiling, the old curtains, dark passageways. The ventilation/A.C. was noisy.A notice in reception tells guests not to walk through the lobby without shoes or shirts, but all day and evening people wandered in from the pool area in various states of undress right past the staff who said nothing. From the poolside guests can see the beach, but they can't access it as there is a five foot fence restricting them. I guess this is a local ordinance but it is pretty meaningless for guests who want to enjoy the beach. The mini-shop was a disappointment too, there was nothing for the traveler who checks in late at night, like me. And it ought to stay open later.A hotel, a lodging but nothing to write home about.
What can i say? You get what you pay for.. It wasn't a bad stay but it wasn't a great one.. If you want to have private access to the beach this is the way to go. The other hotels with the beach attached are going to run you $200 or more. Rooms were clean but the hallway had bad smell.. Pool area very nice but the water wasn't clean enough for me.. They have nice beach towels to use. I got a Pina Colada and fries both were good. I wouldnt stay again, I rather spend the extra bucks but would recommend if your on a budget. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Stayed here from the 20th to the 25th August. Arrived here by taxi from the airport which is about a 20 minute drive away at a cost of $35. Check in was fast and efficient by a very welcoming receptionist (maybe shift manager) grey haired gentleman. Told us everything we needed to know. We had a room which faced the next door hotels wall but that was ok as we still had a sea view. Rooms had everything we needed apart from a fridge but there is an ice machine on every landing so we used this to keep our drinks cool. Only down side to the room is that the bathroom sink is situated by the entrance door to the room and not in the bathroom. Beds are super comfy had 5 nights great sleep. Another downfall is that you can only make coffee with the machine in the room could do with changing these to kettles as I would of liked to have made a green tea but wasn't possible with the machine. Rooms get cleaned everyday if you require it to be cleaned everyday. Pool area and gardens are pretty probably one of the best hotel gardens along the boardwalk as we walked the majority of the boardwalk to south beach and this hotel had one the prettiest gardens you can use next doors pool and hot tub but we didn't realise this until the last day as its not really advertised around hotel unlike when we booked hotel and it said it had a hot tub but we could not locate it until someone told my daughter. The pool area is safe for kids as it is gated and you need your room key to open it which is a great idea. Great having the beach right on the doorstep just wished the hotel would provide some sunbeds on the beach. Lobby area is lovely lots of seating and a bar area there is also a shop in the lobby sells drinks, snacks etc. We paid for breakfast most mornings here which cost around $55 for 2 adults and a 13 year old that includes taxes and service charge. A decent choice for breakfast we noticed that most places along Collins Avenue offered the same sort of breakfast but to us it worked put cheaper to eat breakfast in the hotel. We also ate in the restaurant on the evening, the evening meal always worked out cheaper than breakfast, food was lovely and the waiter Wesley was very polite and well mannered. All restaurant staff are welcoming and can never do enough for you. Taxis are easy to grab outside. Plenty of shops, supermarkets etc in walking distance of the hotel. Overall a lovely relaxing stay would definitely stay here again if we were to visit Miami again.
This was a solid stay. The hotel was very nice and our room was clean. The hotel staff was also very helpful. I need to give a big shout out to the pool bar bartender from New England (I forget his name) who served us frozen mudslides all week. Excellent conversation and service from that guy.The best part though would be the pool, pool bar, and the beach which is right behind the hotel. This is what made our stay. If there's any one complaint, I'll say it's their key cards. They reset ALL THE TIME! By the end of the trip, I just automatically went to the front desk to reset my key, so that I didn't have to go up and come back down when it didn't open my door. They need to invest in better quality key cards. I know they exist!Overall, good stay. Would definitely recommend if you want to save some money on a trip to Miami Beach.
