Holiday Inn Miami Beach
- What's Included
Love this place. You can't beat the location! We love Holiday Inn anyway, but this place is extra special. The beach is right there! Staff was super nice and helpful. The night manager needs to look at his attitude towards customers, but regular staff members go above and beyond. Prettiest hotel around there in my opinion. We are returning in a few weeks because I loved it so much.
In a good position right on the beach, would suggest you always ask for an ocean view as these are the best rooms. We had a corner one very good size could have held a party for all the guests. Although would say in need of updating. We had breakfast each morning which again was good plenty to select from.Did not dine there at night as we went down to South beach which was 15min in a taxi.Bar area is very drab and again not very people friendly.
The Holiday Inn is a solid hotel in Miami Beach. You are steps from the beach, which is great, and steps from the boardwalk that goes all the way to South Beach. A few positives: the food at the hotel bar / restaurant was quite good, and the drinks were quite good too. And the pillows were OUTSTANDING. We slept really well. But because we were spending about $175 per night, much more than the average Holiday Inn, there are a few things I wanted to mention.(1) you're not in South Beach, which is about 2 miles away. This is a good thing -- you're far from the noise -- and a bad thing -- you have to walk 2 miles (or Uber) to get to any of the action.(2) the pool is not heated. This was I think the biggest failing of this hotel. Nobody -- kids or adults -- could brave the cold water. You could use a heated pool at a nearby hotel, for a fee. (3) the elevators are horribly slow, and there are only 2 elevators for the whole hotel. We frequently waited 5 or more minutes to get up or downstairs.(4) the hotel missed opportunities to make things "special." When we made our reservation, they offered a drop-down to select why we were staying. One option was "anniversary," which was why we were there. We chose that option, but the hotel made no effort to recognize the occasion. Even a "thanks for spending your anniversary with us" from the desk staff would have sufficed. It was just a missed opportunity to make us feel special.
Nice Hotel very nice lobby! I am a Spire and was upgraded to a 2 room suite on the PH level! Was really nice room but very small bathroom! Outdoor bar was nice and employees were very attentive while busy! Pool was nice and the outdoor space was very clean and attended well!
Well, what can I say? It's a Holiday Inn and they are the same the world over. Always a good night's sleep and a decent breakfast. The Miami Beach Holiday Inn is right on the beach and it is a wonderful beach, long and sandy. The water is warm (as you would expect in a sub tropical climate)... and the hotel has a pool. So when you get fed up with sand in your bits and salt water gargling, you can relax by the pool. The hotel staff are great, very helpful and happy to give advice. My only issue was, despite the beautiful location, there seemed to be very few places, close-by, to eat. Hotel restaurants are often good, but also quite expensive (Holiday Inn prices are quite reasonable), but when you travel thousands of miles to a beach resort, you expect a bit more in the way of choices - especially for eating. Miami Downtown offers the traveller better options for entertainment, but without the sea view.
