Great stay for the money

This hotel on the beach is situated near the SOHO Hotel and near the Fountainbleu. It doesn't cost half as much to stay for the night and has many amenities. Impressive is the attitude of the staff, who are all amiable, highly functioning and courteous. The front desk handles all your requests promptly and efficiently and the wait staff and bellman are superb. you think you are in a 5 star hotel. The lobby is more than nice but not plush and they have a breakfast area and bar right in the lobby. They keep the temperature at "very Cold' which I like on a hot day, but some do not.Internet service is great and the the phones and computers work in the room - BUT they do not get service in the lobby, which is annoying. Verizon users were geting service in the lobby.Had a dip in the pool and you can use the pool at the 4 POINTS Hotel next door as well. I had a refreshing swim, but again, it wasn't heated , so, I loved it but some do not.The cleaning staff are all fantastic and my room was made up like a waldorf. They have lots of amenities, like coffee maker and coffees and teas for free. They are not cheap with shampoos, conitioners and the like , which is helpful.Here for the week of the Art Basel show and I'm enjoying it.

Isolated

The Holiday Inn is well and truly away from the main town centre. It's right on the beach, but if your intention to shop like we were, choose a hotel closer to town.The rooms were ordinary. No breakfast was included in our package. Free wi fi was.After a long flight we were looking forward to a snack. The dining room closes at 10.00pm. No room service. We went downstairs nothing around. My daughter managed to talk a lady who could speak English to make us some fries.Also if you're a tea aholic like I am take your own tea because even if you manage to go into the restaurant they have no idea about hot tea. Not impressed.

Old decor, a bit far from the action

The Holiday Inn is a decent hotel but the decor is a bit old.Right on the beach with easy access to the sea front walkway.However is a bit far from Ocean Drive, so not very close to the action.Not bad but for the price i paid, there are better places

very good location, poor service

Stayed 4 nights in holiday inn, the location is close to fontanbleu hotel and quieter side of the south beach, but with uber very easily travel to the heart of the south beach.The hotel itself very clean, the room a bit dated but again the cleaning stuff is wonderful. The pros the pool area is nice but did not swim int the pool, the valet parking staff is wonderful. The view is great. Now the big cons, the parking fee is 36 a day valet regular parking 32 across the street. The card continued to be demagnetized twice a day literally. The other negatives the hotel does not disclose the fact they do not take all credit cards even with visa symbol. My credit card was canadian was told due to the way it was not taking it luckily had cash to pay for the room and deposit of 150 of incidentals. Never had such issues before, travel consistently, currently hold gold status with IHG and Starwood. The issue with such is that because i wasnt planing to give close to 1000 in cash at the hotel had to get hit with exchange and bank rates as needed more cash for other activities, when questioning the manager on duty why such occurred advised due to fraud prevention and protect customers, yet how is it protecting me denying a perfectly fine credit card. Next the manager on duty had swagger and arrogance about him. Complained to IHG member services was referred to the general manager of the hotel, very pleasant to talk to said would be giving discount for such at the check out ended up getting 30 dollars back for the inconvenience, my exchange rate took over 200 hit, that was added insult to injury for such treatment. When enquired at the front desk if that was it was told yes and completely lack of curtesy or any answer. I will be taking it up with IHG member services further, including the fact the hotel is not providing the disclosure of such practices or warning of such, a lot of canadians travel to usa and florida.Now the paradise cafe, the breakfast choice not much of a healthy choice menu, the hostess is disengaged completely, the waiter border line rude and no service dirty plates just sat there and no wasnt busy place, also when time came to pay waited to get change even though on the beach area gratuity included in the bill, had to leave extra 4 dollars as didnt have time to wait additinal half hour to get change back. Another words avoid the paradise cafe as it is not such. Great breakfast two blocks going left at the wonderful cuban cafe. Another thing the bar menu only available quite early otherwise at night either order pizza or have to go out yet again to get something.

Beware with valet

I had a terrible experience on valet parking . Almost lost my car , they didn't search and loaded the car with luggage and if I didn't scream the couple would left with my car. Very upset expected more. But as I said valet parking is terrible . The reservations and check out in front desk are super special.
