First Impression:B A D, you can find better

Staying here for first time for biz. As Epic across street not available.I knew it was dated decor/old by the minute my uber driver sropped me.Here it goes:1- dated building design/ portecochere lobby2- only one guest check in at 8:25pm open3- super dated on the verge of tacky / not cared for lobby.4- not very stylish clientele that fits hotel look.5- the bad art behind check in desk all crooked!6 - Friendly checK-in agent7 - tacky elevator design8 - the typical floor corridors decor looks 1995, bad lighting, cheap look, tired.9 - was offered a kibg bed, nice on a high floor.10- now the best part ---Not.... the room:Tacky old tired decor, no art in proper room. Bad furniture , drapes, lights. The bed king the pillows sizer are like for twin beds.LOL11. The bathroom and closet are the tackiest part, low 60" high partition hides theVanity area, awful plumbing fixtures, then the closet has a louvered short door, LOL12. The bathroom looks like a bad rental apt one.13. Will see how it performs in am...14, bed and pillows nit conforyable15. AC works well16. No bottled water free as in other same level hotels17, I am glad I check out early18. Popcorn ceiling LOL19. Huge TV out of proportion for chest of drawers below.20. You all dont come back ok!Hope this helps.PS should hope mgr offers a nice excuse and refunds half of room costFor BAD 1992 look etc. it was bad in 1992-Holiday Inn quality.Good luck.

This Hyatt located in downtown Miami is close to everything, Brickel Village, and the new Brickel shops. But the sweet thing about this Hyatt is the service, excellent check in staff, very friendly and helpful. The Valet parking staff is a work of art, the way they coordinate the many cars in and out. My room was clean and well maintained. Everybody seems to be extra friendly and helpful. The lady that runs the small food and dessert shop is a wonder. Her name is Merlie, sweet, personable, a happy personality, a real winner. I stay in Miami 4-5 times a year, I would not stay anywhere else, you can't find this level of service in Miami anywhere, plus the happy and personable people who work there. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone visiting Miami.

Great location, great service, great rooms

I've stayed here once before 3 years ago. It has been updated. Rooms are great. I pick Hyatt for their beds and pillows! My room was exceptionally quiet. Not just because of the location of the room. I did not hear the rooms next door. And I did not hear above or bellow. That was great! Location is perfect and a new Whole Foods right across the street with great eating buffet.

Understaffed everywhere

Stayed here for four nights last week, I also remember staying here exactly 10 years ago. I thought it was just average hotel 10 years ago, but now I think they have serious planning issues.On Sunday, lobby was filled with people without a room until late at night. I heard they had a group of Delta airline employees checked out late, they were still cleaning rooms. I checked in on my app so my room was available but my colleague had to wait 3 hours. I stayed up until 11:30pm with him to make sure but I was really tired all day next day. Some waited until 1am for their room to be ready. Room credit they gave wasn't enough to pay for dinner at a hotel restaurant. They didn't provide any food or drinks while waiting.Room on the end of building was spacious. Try to book the room number ends with either 01 or 41. Housekeeping left a note to fill out to request from them, I left a note but my request was never filled after two days of waiting. I think they are understaffed at housekeeping department. There was always a wait at the front desk. Delta airline employees get priority at the front desk. When they arrive, others have to wait longer. Front desk is understaffed. They did nothing about it.Catering staff needs additional training or better planning as well. Location was great. Walking distance to some restaurants, free monorails to the area. While running outside one morning, I saw many hotels nearby. If my travel brings to the area, I would look for elsewhere.

Run-down and poor service

Dingy conditions (especially for the price) and service felt insincere and staff inconvenienced. The food and drink were acceptable but not on par with local gastro options. I would not recommend to traveling friends.
