I just spent a week at the InterContinental Miami (I was there for a business conference) and the experience was absolutely top-notch, from start to finish. Sandra at the registration desk exhibited extraordinary hospitality and efficiency during check-in; she was wonderfully helpful. My room was spotless, spacious, and quiet, and I had a spectacular view of the harbor ... the sunrises were amazing! The banquet team was also friendly and helpful - a special shout-out to John Paul, who was always smiling, and who worked very hard to make sure all was perfect! Kudos for the culture of hospitality at this property - the entire staff really made us all feel welcome and special.
Certainely not the best intercon in the world. Its seems old and need a refurbishment. Even if well located for downtown hotel quality remains low level.Very poor check in quality. We spent 45min to do checking !!!, they ask 3 times same questions, they confuse with other booking...we ask for seaview room nether possible.breakfast good but very very expensive.
This hotel is within walking distance to most things to do in the downtown area, including restaurants, trendy nightclub spots and meeting venues. If you are a runner you will enjoy this location. Also a great whole foods is one block so you can pick up snacks and food. A four to six miles offers great views and even a bridge. The actual facility is great, if you are lucky to get a view of the bay you are in for a treat every morning as the sun rises. Further the bar lounge outside is so quaint and quite frankly underused. The chef their is extremely charming and was a delight to talk to you. P.S. the gym is well equipped. I was so surprised. I work out really early and then the best part was I went for a swim after. I mean how could you be mad at that? The only complaint I have is that the room service prices and services fees are too high, however it is a downtown Miami trendy hotel. If something had to give this would be it everything else was excellent.
The room was beautiful and clean. Strange to have the closet in the bathroom, but the bathroom was large with plenty of space for changing. The hotel staff at the front desk was pleasant and efficient. All-in-all I give it an A+!
The food was very disappointing. Even the banquet dinner and the breakfast was not good. Thank goodness there was a Starbucks in the hotel. I had a salad at the pool restaurant one day and it was not worth the price. Walked to Whole Foods near by the other days and went out for dinner elsewhere the rest of our stay.
