Security - left items

I spent a night at the hotel while attending an Bruno Mars concert for my birthday . I realized when I got home I left my birthday gift in the room and called the hotel. I spoke with a gentleman Norberto Pagan in the security department and what a pleasure .Less than a hour I had my present being shipped with a tracking number and 2 follow up calls. Was so happy:

Top of the line service

We recently stayed at this Marriott for a wedding. The reception was wonderful and the food was quite good. The highlight of our visit however was the accommodating service of the staff at this hotel. They were all friendly and happy to help with whatever was needed for your stay. In particular Darion Bennett was as helpful as could be in helping me locate my lost phone and getting it back to me promptly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to host an event or just visit Miami.

Pre-cruise stay.

Despite the fact they are still recovering from storm damage, this hotel is top notch. From the moment we stepped out of the cab it's been a great experience. Check-in was available early and the view of the cruise ships from the balcony is cool. Being an elite member gets you some special treatment but I feel these folks would be just as courteous and accommodating were we not.

Two nights pre cruise

My husband and I stayed here for two nights before a cruise just after the hotel had reopened following the hurricane. This is an older Marriott but was perfectly suitable for our needs- it is a ten minute taxi to the port of Miami.Check in process was easy and we had a room on the twelfth floor that was large, well appointed with coffee maker, safe, large bathroom and also a small balcony that overlooked the pool. As it is an older hotel the rooms are in need of redecoration, but not badly so.They hotel is well located - there is a Publix only a five minute walk away, as well as a cvs. The hotel is also linked to another with a small shopping centre that has a few bars and deli where you can get coffee or something to eat. There is also Tony Chan’s Chinese which is worth a visit.We didn’t eat in the hotel apart from a snack of some wings and a few drinks when we arrived- it was perfectly fine for this. We would certainly stay here again if in Miami before or after a cruise.

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED

We have stayed here before and loved it. This time, we paid for the concierge level but when we checked in, we were told all the bay view rooms were damaged from Irma. Though we weren't happy and thought they could have let us know prior to our arrival, we understood and accepted the keys to our rooms on the 21st floor. Went to first room, walked in, and people were there packing up their stuff. We just assumed they were running behind and thought it was ok, after all, accidents happen....went to second room, opened door, and people were in the bed!!! HOW EMBARRASSING!!! Went back downstairs, were apologized to, gave new rooms on the 4th floor and a $19 refund since we paid for a high floor with bay view and couldn't receive either. UNBELIEVABLE! A whole $19 off after running around the hotel with 6 adults and 1 toddler, lugging 7 pieces of luggage and walking in on people in 2 separate rooms.
