I stayed here for several nights while attending a business event. The hotel appears to be going through a renovation (possibly due to damage from IRMA) and so there is quite a bit of adjoining/room-above noise (drilling, banking, etc.). The rooms are reasonably well laid out. Bathroom is quite small but functional (decent water pressure). Mattress appears new, AC works well and quietly, sleep quality was great until the early (730a) construction noises. The restaurant/bar is okay for a quick meal. Not much selection but good service and efficient. The gym is dated and very humid. Almost a gym for people who do not workout. Would suggest they get some basic spin bikes (versus the “old” people fat-seat and sit-down bikes.)Coffee shop is good.WiFi when working (was choppy) was very quick and for some reason there doesn’t appear to be any cell coverage in the hotel. For a night stay, I would recommend and stay here again.
My personal experience last week that I was locked out of my room, and security person by name Yazdi Patel was quick to stop by and take care of the issue, but he was so courteous and apologetic for the inconvenience caused. I was a little frustrated before I met him, but he changed my opinion.. Keep up the good work.
Stayed here from October 29 to November 3, 2017. This was my second stay and just as enjoyable as my first one. The well appointed room had a balcony with sweeping views of the Bay and Downtown Miami. Location cannot be beat with trolley and public transit minutes away. Grocery store and restaurants all within walking distance. This is a great place to stay when in Miami downtown area. Staff are amazing. Special thanks to Marcus B. for looking after all arrangements to ensure a comfortable visit, Sharissa M. and Jennifer R. for going above and beyond during check-in and Marojorie S. to making me feel right at home. Would highly recommend as a great place to stay in Downtown Miami.
I work for a five star rated airline in the Middle East and our choice for stay when we fly to Miami is the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay. I have stayed in this hotel twice before: last year March 2016 and sometime in 2015.What stood out in my recent visit in November 2017 was the fact that I forgot my keys back in my room when I took my flight back to the Middle East for duty. I immediately requested a friend to call the hotel for me and as they hadn't cleaned the room yet, a person was immediately sent to the room that I had stayed in and retrieved the keys! Mr. Gilson Espinal, a Safety and Security Officer at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay handled the incident with so much professionalism and speed it required because it was an urgent matter. He, together with his team ensured my bunch of keys was well packaged and working with personnel from my company arrangement was made to have the keys sent to me immediately. I have been working with my airline for over 5 years now and stayed in many hotels around the world. This isn't the first time I leave something behind. But this sure was the first time and personnel handled it professionally and had it sent to me. And who wouldn't want to stay in a hotel that organises to have your belongings sent to you that you erroneously left behind? In addition to the professionalism displayed by Mr. Gilson Espinal, Marriott Miami Biscayne Bay rooms are very spacious and well lit facing the Marina. I would recommend this hotel for an unforgettable stay while in Miami and definitely a five star rating to Gilson Espinal front the security team!!
My stay was ok, but not without issues. The management was quick to respond though, so I need to start with that! Check in was quick despite a massive amount of people checking in. I am Gold Elite! I was not told of all the perks, which was one of the issues that was addressed in a timely fashion! I was not upgraded, but the hotel was sold out! The perks I did receive nothing was explained, and I missed out!My room was fine, clean, nice balcony, tiny bathroom, refrigerator, and for me the most uncomfortable bed I have ever experienced at a hotel! The hot water was also not working in the shower! The people were very friendly, tried to be helpful, the pool was a nice size, and some comfortable seating. The breakfast buffet was okay! The omelet station was good! So the question of the hour is, would I stay at this hotel again? I don’t think this Marriott lived up to my expectations from other Marriotts I have stayed in, but I would probably give them another chance!
