Amazed from beginning to end. Location is incredible! The service top notch and the room was amazing! The balcony was an added plus! I must recognize Alfred Robles which was very attentive and always welcoming!
We stayed here for two nights prior to a cruise the middle of February. The second you pull up the staff is there to greet you and help with your luggage. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained. Our room was spotless and comfy. Check in and check out was easy and fast. We had a problem with a tour that the hotel offered. They said they would investigate the problem and help get it resolved. They did exactly that and went above and beyond what I ever expected for the resolution. They truly do care about their customers. I definitely recommend this hotel and I will absolutely stay there again.
We were leaving on a cruise and needed a nice hotel for one night. We booked a regular room and upon arrival at the hotel we were upgraded to a suite on the 27th floor. We had an awesome view of the bay and the cruise ship terminal. Room was very well maintained and appeared to have been renovated recently. Spacious, clean and nicely appointed. Our room was on the corner of the building and with the floor to ceiling windows, we had a great view. Room service was good, but a bit odd. Everything was served in disposable containers, similar to that of a "boxed lunch". Regardless, the food was fresh and hot and worth the price paid. Our only negative, checkout. It appeared that most of the other guests in the hotel were also leaving on a cruise ship upon checkout. The lobby was chaotic. For some reason, the charge for parking our car was never applied to our room account. We had to wait for an agent at the counter to apply the payment so we could get our car out of the garage and be on our way. This process took nearly 45 minutes. Being so close to the cruise terminal, I am quite certain that hotel management is aware of the number of guests checking out at once. They really need to allocate staffing accordingly. The 45 minute delay at checkout was the difference between three stars and five.
Hotel was nice and I would stay here again. Had one small problem after checking in real late we got to our room and the bed had been sat on, all the paperwork on the desk had been moved around and someone used the bathroom and didn't flush so we called to the front desk and was told our options were limited and we were given a $25 discount. Small discount considering what we had paid. Otherwise room was nice with a good view. Restaurant and bar were clean and service was great. Pool area was good with plenty of chairs and a good bar. Close to cruise ships which was convenient.
From the moment I checked in I felt very welcome and important. Guy the door man followed me around for a good three minutes offering to help me with anything I needed while checking in (I arrived at 9am a full 6 hours before check in and they found me a room) and ran away only to return with a bottle of water. The front line did great to start things off. Robert at the front desk checked me in and was very friendly and helpful. My room was on 20th floor. Odd room number look to pool and have some obstructed water view but I had a balcony and nice view of the water and city skyline. Room was well appointed. I opted to do some work by the pool instead of my office and took my watch off to type and accidentally it fell off table and I forgot it. I went back down and the bartender Raul helped me look and it was gone. I figured it was a goner but the next day went and saw Robert again and he and his team had it and was in the hotel safe which was awesome. Back to Raul at the 180 bar. He was personable and makes great drinks. They have Happy Hour Specials which takes some of the sting out of $12 rum runners. That goes from 11-4 I believe. The ballrooms and meeting rooms were kept at comfortable temps and everything was clean throughout the hotel. We ate at the restaurant and was good as well The chicken wings are worth a try and calamari is good too. Great location as well. The staff was awesome all while the kickoff to the Miami Boat Show was happening. I have no status with Marriott however intend to get there this year and they treated me better than most of the 40+ Hilton Hotels that I have stayed at in last year with 3rd Year Diamond Status. I will be sure to stay next time I am in town.
