I was very mislead by some of these negative reviews. So my advice to everyone is try it for yourself.I had dinner at the restaurant inside the hotel Kitchen 305. My guests and I had such a delightful experience. We sat at the bar with Kaisa as our bartender. She was as just sweet as she was beautiful.Kaisa made a few dinner selections and you could really tell she knew her stuff. The food came out Great! When you stop in ask for Kaisa, and for her recommendations! The manager David was also very attentive. He made sure he came around multiple times and checked on us. David had a very warm personality and yet carried himself with wonderful professionalism. All in all, I enjoyed my experience and will definitely be trying Kitchen 305 again
I just made the reservations today for mid March, but I am seriously considering canceling. I reserved the "Two Bedroom Suite Partial Ocean View". The hotel pictures look like there are two private bedrooms with doors and the living area. However, I started to get nervous after I noticed that some reviews mentioned their bedrooms were not private. We travel with our adult daughter and need two private bedrooms. I called the hotel several times today and spoke to multiple people. Everyone seemed to have a different response - "Yes, both bedrooms will have doors"; "No, only one of the bedrooms will have doors, the second bed has no privacy", and my favorite - "all rooms are different". I also sent an email using the form on their website - so far nothing. I don't understand why I can not get clear description of the layout of my room, not to mention why would the room be different from the pictures provided by the hotel? If anyone from the hotel cares to actually respond and provide the information I am looking for, I will remove this review and post a new one after I stay there. Otherwise, I will be cancelling my reservation.
The thing this hotel has going for it is the beach location. It's in a busy area, if that matters to travelers, so there are some stores nearby. The hotel itself seemed dated, yet was very busy with travelers. It has a nice poolside area, a small store inside with Starbucks coffee bar, and a restaurant which we didn't eat at so have no insight there. We were able get the room at quite a discount for that night, which was good, but for the regular price, even with location, it seemed overpriced to me given its condition. We were unaware until we got there that there were two options for parking your car: self-parking across the busy boulevard for $20 nightly, or valet parking by the hotel for $25 per night. No other options. I believe a number of people may be caught off guard to find that in addition to the hotel room price, taxes, there's a $25 nightly "Property Fee" that the hotel charges for some reason as part of their corporation, and is a very vague charge. Also, many hotels charging less at least give a continental breakfast, but not here For one night, at the special price we got online, it was ok, but we won't be going back.
Newport Beach resort has decent location, nice pier and it smells nice in the lobby. But they nickel and dime you on fees (parking, resort fee, towel card, service charge) that creates a distrust and animosity, You can do better in Miami
This hotel is falling apart. My room was dirty, check-in slow, staff rude.. no iron and ironing board in the room, wifi not guaranteed in the room I was told to come down to the lobby for a better connection. No game console in the room like stated on hotels.com. Had to pay 25 for valet parking if not than 20$ self park across a really busy street. My room was too cold, ac not working properly I had to call for an extra blanket they never provided, when I tried calling back nobody answered (3 times) so I slept in my pants and sweater. Poop stains in the toilet when I checked in. Light in bathroom falling apart... food at hotel restaurant was not good, I asked for a medium rare steak and it came very over cooked. On a very busy street not relaxing at all. Horrible stay I will never go back again
