Terrible Hotel, Bad Hotel

The Hotel is old inside, duty carpet in the hallway and in the rooms, Bathroom extremely old and duty. we stay in 2 rooms floor 7 and 9 and my wife and kids refused to take a shower and end our vacation on the 1st day because of this. The front desk attendant at night Horrible, we arrived at mid night he gave us the worse rooms because we ask for double bed rooms and he claim was none available. on the 9th floor their was people on the hallway because their rooms smell was too strong and their kids was getting sick. we check out the next morning, the manager at front desk was trying to con-down one of the guess that was complaining about the smell on the room. the front desk Rep never ask me why we was leaving the hotel, I guess my business was not important to them. never felt that bad before in a Hotel. terrible Hotel beautiful Area.

"Exceptional Edward "

Upon Our Arrival At Newport Beachside Resort,My Wife and I Were Warmly Greeted by a Very Sharp Individual. Jonathan is his name, if I recall. (Great Start) Once We were at the counter( Too our Surprise)Another Extremely Sharp,Well Spoken,considerate and Vibrant Front Desk Clerk with a solid Sky Blue Tie, by the name of "Edward",Took The Cake & Iced it Not only did his Professional appearance and Knowledgeable engagement capture the Fear of Us Traveling so Far (over 1000 ) miles alone To a Resort without Our Family,but Edward calmly and efficiently Changed Our Moods. He in fact, is so confident and Great at what he does That we Forgot almost instantaneously about The Severe issues we encountered in the Airport. His smile became so infectious that we were smiling for no reason. I have met numerous hotel Clerks,Representatives etc,But Edward is By Far the Smoothest. He Calmed us down so much with Natural Conversing,That We Honestly forgot We Were Making a Purchase He Really made us Feel as If we were indeed,Valued Customers. if you're Reading this Thank You sooooo Much Edward for putting Your best foot forward with us,and turning a complete Negative Day into a Positive one. The best thing about this is,That Edward had no idea as he Candidly Slid into Our Memory Banks. Ira Heaston

Great location, nice rooms but without a private beach and beach chairs which are taken away at 5 pm.

I booked this hotel for my family and I for one week. The location is fantastic!!! You have valet parking ($ 25) or self parking ($ 20, across the street). The rooms are big and comfortable. However, there are significant setbacks: 1. The beach chairs, which are free, are taken away from you at 5 PM by the vendor. Therefore, you have to lay down on the towels when it is the best time to be on the beach and relax. 2. Due to a beach but a PUBLIC BEACH!!! From Mon thro Thurs that is ok but Fridays, Sat and Sun are terrible! You see people who are not hotel guests coming into the beach with very tall building next to the hotel, the sun is gone on one section of the beach. You have to move over to remain under the sun around 4.30 PM. 3. This is not a private their own chairs and towels and enjoying the free chairs and your "hotel private beach" as if they were guests. The beach is packed during these 3 days and most of the beach goers ARE NOT HOTEL GUESTS. So, you have to watch out for your belongings, just in case. Most of them enter the beach in groups of 4 or 5, very noisy and most of them with a music players!!! You can not relax given the loud volume of the music. I wonder why management allows that!!! This is the reason that I won't go back to this hotel. You have a nice deli for breakfast or snack with reasonable prices. Also a restaurant but I have not been to it. The corridors that take to the rooms are outdated and the carpets are old and smell like dump. At check in, you have not only to present your credit card for incidentals but also, they deduct $300 that are reimbursable one week after check out.

We stayed here for three nights recently with our two grown up daughters. We have no real complaints, everything was "ok". But nothing was great. The reception staff were polite and listened to our issues and requests but didn't take ownership and resolve or offer any real customer service. They were happy to just shift them off to someone else. No sign of going above and beyond. The ladies at the bar by the pool were the exception. They were positively helpful and friendly at all times. Breakfast was not included and was ordinary. Room was clean but bit dated and needed a lick of paint as did the corridors. Not enough lifts for the hotel. Cockroach in room but not sure there is much they can do about that. Bed was very good actually but the sofa bed the girls had was way past it's best and I have no idea how they slept on it. Pool was nice actually but when I went in towards the end of the afternoon there were cigarette ends and half-empty glasses around the pool. Went in to Miami during the day so didn't really use the beach but again did visit briefly near dusk and there was rubbish and beer bottles and glasses everywhere. Restaurant on the pier was very good food but not cheap. Booked it through a travel agent as part of a package so don't actually know what I paid for this leg of the holiday but wouldn't want to be paying high end for it. Nothing material to grumble about, just all very ordinary.

Many upgrades were made to the hotel. The rooms are nicer since Westgate timeshare came in. The beach and pool area are very nice and comfortable. The pier also got a nice face lift. We enjoyed our stay there and would go again.
