Newport Beachside Resort
- What's Included
Stayed at this property 2008, 2009 and very pleased both times. Stayed in a ocean view room both times and accommodations were good, we stayed on the beach the whole time so room was not that big of a concern. Decided to stay again this summer and stay in an oceanfront room and enjoy the balcony. Very disappointed this time! The room was outdated and in need of refurbishing. Cracks in the drywall and paint flaking. Every time we went out on the balcony we were overcome with cigarette smoke. Sometimes we could even smell the smoke through the door when it was closed. Even when you could go out on the balcony the people staying next to us were so loud it was just not pleasant. Wasted our money on the balcony, if I would have know how it was going to be we would have just saved money and stayed in an ocean view room.We decided to partake in the Lobster night feast on Wednesday night. It was advertised as soup/salad, lobster and two sides. The soup was great, the lobster was good and I did not eat the corn on the cob. After we finished and were leaving we noticed that other people had mashed potatoes. Upon asking our server about this he said the they were optional. It would have been nice to have the option presented to us by our server? He did not seem to care. They add an 18% gratuity on every purchase from the restaurants, it would have been nice if that was optional also. Many times I will give more than 18% if I feel the service is exceptional, but when they add it themselves I never give more. The staff was fantastic, very friendly and professional. Even though, I would still not recommend staying, unless you don't mind outdated and run down rooms and cigarette smoke on your balcony.
Probably the smaller of the hotels on this beach, but the amenities make up for it. Lots to do at this little gem. This hotel has a private beach "guest only". Water sports on location: jet ski, kayak and SUP. This hotel also has a recently remodeled pier, with fishing allowed. The pier also boast a restaurant/bar. The food was so good, this is where we ate most of our meals. Clean beach and excellent service. I have stayed at this location twice. I hate to change it up when it's been so perfect.
Worst worst hotel ever! Big mistake staying there!!!!! I searched numerous sites for hotel and came across this property. Booked a 2 nights stay thru Tickets at Work program, thinking I got a good deal of $186 for the 2 nights. Nightmare began at the check-in. Upon arriving, I see hotel FANCY and modern (thinking service will be good). WRONG! I was not told about the resort or parking fees and it is no where stated on Ticket at Work. Got the room, put the bag down and ready to hit the pool. BAM, swimming pool is off limits. So then I went to the front desk and was given the most lame uneducated excuse " oh, there is the sea". Again, this was not mentioned any where on their website or Tickets at Work about any pool cleaning or such. The night before the check out, I got a slip under the door that reads "Sorry we missed you". The note says thanking you for staying here, blah blah and that sorry we missed you and that there is "welcome gift" for me and to bring it to concierge desk. Check-out day came, went to the concierge (which has no affiliation to the hotel) with the thought - what are they up to now at the back of my head. I was right. It is nothing but to sell you their spa package or the time share and some other crap. Hotel is fancy, nice views but HORRIBLE service and amenities, most likely managed by uneducated owner and his idiot employees. Hotel appears to be 4-5star on the outside but wait til you step in and you will find yourself in deep S***. Just like the review by "Chrisksoon", you get charge for everything ie; $3 paper plate, $2 plastic knife/fork, beach chairs, $10 beach towels, parking (6 lanes freeway from hotel) and..... NEVER ever again
I just came home after spending 3 nights at the Newport Beach Hotel and Resort in Sunny Isles Beach. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I was checked in by Christian at the front desk upon my arrival. He was very courteous and provide me with a few suggestions of things to do at the hotel and in the local surroundings--very helpful! I spent most of my days at the pool bar and the beach. One bartender, Grace, was specifically helpful and provided great drink suggestions. She knew me by name after my second time visiting her-really made me feel special. For those looking for a hotel with great staff at a very affordable price, I highly recommend this hotel.
My friend surprised me with a spa and beach day for my birthday. We were treated amazingly by everyone from the boys on the beach that bring out the chairs, to the valet guys, to the girls in the spa room. The spa area was GORGEOUS! Talk about feeling like a million bucks! I loved my time there and can't wait to repeat the experience!
