The New Casablanca On The Ocean
- What's Included
I booked through a third party agency and it was written in my that email letter the hotel fee is $10 but it was different amount in the hotel. It was $17 and there was $50 deposit fee. This place doesn’t deserve $1 fee. It is a very old hotel. The staff are very rude. At 12 p.m I asked the front desk if he could check me in earlier because my flight is early in the morning, so I’m staying for only 7 hours and I need a place to get some rest in. Unfortunately, he told me that non of the hotel rooms are available !!!!!. I came back at 3 p.m and surprisingly nothing yet is available. He waited till 4 p.m to check me in what a disrespectful.
We stayed at this hotel at the end of October 2017. The reception staff were really unfriendly and unhelpful and it felt like you were putting them out just by checking in!!We were given a room that overlooked the beach, but that was the only nice thing about this hotel. The room was dirty and during our stay the toilet overflowed all over the floor and we had to get the staff up to sort it. We were not offered another room and this is clearly a regular thing as we were told that we were the third call that night for this and he had another room to go to after ours!!When we checked out, we were told that we had nothing additional to pay for. However on my return home I have found that they have charged my visit card 90 dollars. I have emailed the hotel to query this and surprise surprise they have ignored my emails!!Do not stay here, unless you want to stay in dirty conditions, unfriendly staff and you get billed for additional things that you have NOT used!!This is by far the worst hotel we have stayed in in the United States and we would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Upon arrival the receptionist was not welcoming at all, we were given the keys and pointed towards the elevator. When we got to the right floor there was a disgusting dirty mattress in the hall, we entered the room which absolutely stank of curry. The room itself was very large but that was the only positive. The AC did not work, the TV didn’t work, the bath and shower were incredibly dirty, the light switches broken and the mattress on each of the beds was broken, I didn’t dare pull the sheets back to look at it. The whole room needed refurbishing and I believe that goes for the whole hotel. The worst and most worrying thing I noticed was that the safety certificate for the elevator had expired at the end of September 2016.All in all the worst hotel I have ever stayed at and I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy.
When we arrived, no one helped me with my luggage even though I was with a baby. I had to carry all my luggage up the stairs to the trolley. There are very few elevators so each time I had to take one, it was a while before I finally got on it. The room was too small we could hardly get in once we had all our luggage. The only good thing was the view. The hotel is old and needs to be remodeled.
We had an overnight stay here ahead of a 4 night cruise. The hotel is a short walk from Miami Beach and is within walking distance to a number of eateries. The area itself was pretty non descript, other than the beach there was nothing of any real interest to do within walking distance. The hotel itself was functional but tired. I would not have wanted to have had an extended stay , I dont have anything bad to say about the hotel, but i dont have anything of distinction to say either
