Very Wrong Made Very Right!

My kids, ages 16 and 10, and I were awoken at 3:00am by a consistent tapping sound coming out of the A/C. By 4:30am, I had to call reception to complain. At 5:00am, engineering was sent to our room with a flashlight and I was told that it was the rain outside beating on the metal A/C unit and nothing he could do! At 6:00am, just as I was falling asleep again, front desk manager called to apologize. At 9:00am, deep in slumber after the most broken night sleep I've had since my children were infants, engineering knocked on our door to repair - I sent them away! Long story short, when we finally woke up at 11:30am, front desk sent a bellman to move us to a suite on the 19th floor. They comped the night and Andrew at the front desk insisted that my kids choose snacks and drinks from their snack shop. He supplied us with breakfast vouchers for the next day. Upon rising the next morning after a blissfully relaxing night sleep in comfy beds with comfy pillows and duvets, I found a hand written note from the front desk manager, Skylar to apologize for our stay being anything less than perfect. Mistakes and mishaps happen all the time when traveling- but Stewart Hotel won me over in how they recovered and regained my confidence! I will return and hope I can get the fabulous, roomy suite again, which is perfect for families who need extra space or long term stay guests. We loved the central location and all the restaurants, coffee shops and amenities within a few Blocks walk. We walked home from Times Square and Broadway. Thanks Stewart Hotel for making it right!

Well located Hotel

Great location for exploring New York. Sited opposite Madison Square garden and railway station. Stayed four nights in a suite.Lovely public areas and friendly staff.Dark corridors, and dated dark rooms and average housekeeping made for a slightly disappointing stay. also very noisy, no attempt at sound-proofing here.With a refurb to the accommodation rooms and corridors, it would be good value, even at New York exorbitant prices.

Awesome visit!

Recently complete a week stay at this hotel. We had a wonderful time. You know when the biggest complaint you have is that the toilet paper keeps falling off the holder, that you're enjoying the hotel! The bed was extremely comfortable, A/C worked great, room was large, elevators were fast, and noise wasn't a problem as we didn't even use the provided ear plugs. I enjoyed Dell's comment as check in - when she saw we were visiting for a week she said "Welcome Home!". I'd return and recommend to friends in a heartbeat!

Disappointing

The hotel has a great location, but you have to prepared for the noise from the street that goes on all through the night.I was travelling with my family (3 children) and was disappointed by our room - the pictures on the website simply does not reflect the quality of room, which had not been renovated in a long time. It was also very small, although advertised for 6 people. The sofa-bed was very uncomfortable, even for children. Staff was very cheerful and pleasant, but unfortunately they did not deliver on their promises (regarding early check-in, room change, lack of bed linens, etc etc).Regarding cleanliness it was ok, taking into account that the room was old and not easy to maintain. The bathroom was very small, and with no space to leave your necessities.

Great accomodation for the family

We stayed here for 8 days in one of the suites on our trip with the whole family, 2 elders, 4 adults and a baby. Our suite was located on one of the upper floors and overlooked 7th avenue and Madison Square Garden. The beds were broad and immensely comfortable after walking whole days about the city. Even the pull out sofa was had a good mattress, duvet and pillows. Yes there was some noise from the avenue below. But, in all honesty, the white noise was quite soothing after a while.The suite came equipped with a kitchen, lounge and 2 bathrooms. Both bathrooms had a bathtub, toilet and sink. Daily cleaning service included the dishes as there was no dishwasher. All in all perfect cleaning service and fresh towels every day.The staff, everyone from the custodians to the front desk receptionists, was exceptionally friendly and made us feel very welcome every day again.Finally, the location is just perfect. Not only is it easy to hop on any metro line but many sites are only a few blocks up ahead. Most of all, you feel very much part of New York from the moment you arrive to this amazing hotel.Highly recommended and we will be coming back to stay next time around!
