Great location, good price and wonderful staff

My husband and I stayed at the Amsterdam Court Hotel on the 7th floor from 7/8/17-7/13/17 for business. It was the best location for us. It is close to subway stations and bus route. There are local shops and restaurants close by. The rooms are New York small. The windows are blocked by neighboring buildings, but the view from the roof is great. Rooms have private baths. The air conditioner was great for white noise. There is free Wifi on roof and in lobby. Ice cold water available in lobby. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We want to send a special thanks to Aris Morillo for making us feel so comfortable in NYC. We will book again.

Great value for money

This hotel was lovely, the location was amazing so close to Times Square and 50th Street subway station. The room was small but what do you expect for a building in New York City?! We personally thought it was lovely and cosy and very quiet considering it was so close to such a busy location. The bed was by far the comfiest bed I have ever slept in in my life!!! The shower was also great and the air conditioning kept the room nice and cool day and night. Free tea and coffee in the morning was nice also, and the staff were always friendly and helped us wherever they could. Considering how cheap it was to stay at this hotel it is most definitely great value for money, would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would stay here again if we ever found ourselves in New York again as we had an amazing time!!

A disappointing hotel with a great location

The bad: First, my friend called a week in advance to ask for an early check-in as we were going to arrive in NYC at 6:00 am. When we arrived at the hotel they said they had no knowledge of this, so they did not have a room ready, but would call when our room was available. They never let us know the room was ready until we went back to the hotel at 1:00 pm to change because we had a meeting across town. Second, the room was tiny. We had to step over our luggage when walking in the room. The bathroom was small and not what I would consider clean. The refrigerator did not work. Plus, the television on had three channels and you can only have Wi-Fi in your room unless you pay. Third, they do not provide breakfast or any room service. The good:First, it is really close to Times Square, the theatres, good food, and a metro stop.Second, they held our luggage when our room was unavailable.

Below Average, Great location

Amsterdam Court position itself as 3 start hotels and based on my experience, I wouldn't even give a 2 star. I happened to fall into the trap by bidding on a 3-star hotel but didn't know that priceline site will con me for this. Anyway, this is as basic hotel as you can get. From the main lobby to your room, every step will take you to narrower corridor than the previous one until you arrive in your tiny room which barely has space to put 2 medium sized luggage. A tiny room with queen size bed and 2 tiny wardrobes on each side of the bed to make sure you don't have side table or table lamps in a so called 3-star hotel. Then you will introduce yourself to a noisy air conditioning unit which perhaps was a good thing as it reduced the outside noise from a window far being soundproof. You could practically hear people talking and walking if you turn off the air conditioning, provided if your room is facing on the main street. I’m not sure about the other rooms. The room was however equipped with hairdryer and iron board. The TV worked but most of the channels were not clear. Keep in mind that you will have to pay 10$/per day for WIFI for 2 devices. Bathroom was basic and of course tiny. Shower did work despite many people complained about it in their reviews. There is no room service to order food, no breakfast option even the paid one. All you can get is a coffee or tea downstairs and that too just in the morning. Couple of good things were, the friendly staff who would help you out when needed. Although our interaction with the staff was very limited. They did clean our room every day.The other highlight is the location. It is practically just 3, 4 minutes’ walk from Time Square. We almost walked everywhere to see all the famous spots. Didn't find a need to get a Metro other than couple of times. Metro Station is just right at the corner too. In fact, the 2nd Metro Station on 49th Street has direct access to lower Manhattan. As far as hotel is concerned, it's can be positioned as B&B and not a hotel but in Amsterdam Court Hotel case, you will be charged for a hotel. I would rather pay bit more (about 20%) to find a better place with better amenities even though I was out most of the day.
