This was a perfect location for a stay in New York City. In the Times Square area it was, on West 50th Street, just around the corner from the bright lights of Times Square. The hotel was undergoing refurbishment which was slightly disappointing, hence not quite giving excellent. As I was out of the hotel most of the time it was no great disadvantage or nuisance. The place just looked a little less than its best. My room was very good, clean and adequate to my needs. I was on the second floor and was anxious about the noise of the City but I slept like a log! The staff were so good. There was a delay on my car to take me to JFK Airport for the flight home due to an incident in the City. The staff looked after me so well and sensitively as I became more anxious. My car was very, very late arriving but the hotel staff kept in touch with the car company and reassured me through the whole process. There was a bar and restaurant attached to the hotel but I was didn't use them. Due to the excellent location there were plenty of places to find breakfast, lunch and dinner. I thoroughly recommend this Hotel.
My husband and I booked to stay here for our one year anniversary trip. By looking at their pictures on their website it looked like a pretty decent hotel and what we liked was the great location. The staff was super friendly upon check in and the few times I had called to confirm things over the phone. Unfortunately, they weren't able to upgrade our room since they were fully booked, which I understood. We had requested early check in since we arrived NYC about 11am. I have to say I was really disappointed in the room they had given us. We were on the 7th floor (706), when we walked in there was one tiny window where the air conditioner was, a nightstand on one side of the bed and an armoir on the other side of the bed and a full length mirror leaned up against the wall near the armoir. There wasn't even room for a fridge or a desk. The room was quite dark and no desk or mini fridge like in the pictures. It was just enough room to walk around the bed. There wasn't any sort of table lamp so you could only have the light on or off in the room. Plus, was the bathroom looked like it had been remodeled, downside our drain was draining slowly and it took two days for them to draino it. On a positive note, they did give us a bottle of wine for our anniversary with a card on the night stand. I would stay here again, but would make sure to request a standard queen with a little more room. Hopefully all the renovation signs that are up will make the place look a little more updated in the future. PRO: Location and ServiceCON: Room Size and Outdated
Excellent location, just close to several main attractions and near metro stationFriendly and kind staffQuite room (3rd floor on 50th St), big and comfortable bedI would book the place again if i went back to New York
This is a solid 3 star hotel. The rooms are small, but it's New York so to be expected. The closets were fine and the bed was comfortable. The AC unit was a bit noisy but didn't stop us from sleeping. In the heart of the theater district, the location is tough to beat. There are good food places nearby. The staff was friendly and our room was clean, although it initially had a strong perfume smell, perhaps from the previous occupant. A very major drawback is the lack of free wifi in the room, just in the (small) lobby. It's very inconvenient and generally detracted from what could have been a better visit. The complimentary morning tea and coffee were ordinary. Some groups pay for a continental breakfast. It did not look the least bit appealing to me.
We stayed for 4 nights, excellent location. Very friendly staff, rooms are in need of renovation which is happening at the moment. Beds are very comfy & shower was good with plenty of towels. We found all other accomodation very expensive in NYC, don't expect too much & it will be fine as you will be out most of the day & night as so much to do around here.
