As others have mentioned, the location is perfect. We had a higher floor with two double beds as there were three of us in the room. The accommodations did not disappoint. The room was clean and the daily service dependable. Definitely a tourist hotel. Everyone was very helpful, and when we called from our room the phone was answered promptly. Did not try the restaurant, but the coffee shop was very convenient for our stay. Upon departure, they stored our luggage and ordered a taxi for our departure later that day.
This is my 4th visit to New York and stayed in a different hotel every time. Being my sons first time in NYC I thought I would spend a little more this time and book a hotel in Times Square and upgraded to a Times Square view. I wish I had stayed in a previous hotel which was not as expensive as we would have had a better experience. The prosThere's no doubt the location of the hotel is great. Right on Times Square so easily accessible to most things. The beds are by far the most comfiest I have ever slept in and would love to fit one in my suitcase. This is as far as the pros go.The cons The window in the room did not close properly so was chilly of an evening and noise from Times Square could be heard, fully expected to here some noise as hey it is NYC after all but not like this. The hot water was touch and go, shower too forever to warm up and you have to negotiate with the shower head to get any kind of hot water. The rooms are dated. Fixtures and fittings on the lamps etc all touch and go.Very small safe, not large enough for a standard laptop never mind much else.Television reception is awful, after a long day in the city of you want to have an hour of chilling out watching the TV forget it as he reception makes it unwatchable.Wifi is average to say the least. I'm not a fan of writing bad reviews for a hotel but considering how much money I have spent to stay here ($1200 for 3 nights) I would have expected far better for the money. I've stayed at both the Wellington Hotel, Novotel Times Square and the Manhattan Times Square before I would Definately look at returning to one of these instead on my next trip early next year.
I was going to wait until after our trip to review, but after the wonderful treatment we received from Tony at Bar 49 and Agatha Texier, food & beverage manager, we must say thank-you now. This was a 60th Birthday trip for four women from Manitoba, Canada. We arrived Thursday afternoon and first met Tony that evening and really appreciated the time he took to answer our first timer questions! Then on our first day's bike tour of Central Park, one of our group went over the handlebars on her bike resulting in an ambulance ride and 7 hours in emergency. Thankfully just a broken collarbone and bruising, but still her trip has been reduced to staying at the hotel. So only 3 of us were able to attend the birthday Broadway show. After the show the three of us had a drink at Bar 49, where Tony not only served us but asked about our trip and was so sweet when we shared the ups and down of our trip thus far. That was nice enough but he and his manager really went above and beyond.Saturday afternoon a beautiful tray of cheese & crackers, a piece of delicious cake and wine was delivered to our room with a lovely personal message from Tony to wish our injured one the best and a happy birthday to the other. That meant the world to us! It's so tough to have planned a trip and have one of your group miss most of it. Tony eased that pain, Thank-you.Everyone at this hotel has been friendly and helpful and I recommend it highly to anyone planning to visit New York! Great location, lovely rooms overlooking Times Square and fabulous staff.
I have stayed in the Crowne Plaza Times Square for 7 days and I was quite satisfied with my short stay.I would like to thank Mr Niles(GM), Alex(sales marketing manager?) and Meng(bellboy) for helping me to find my package in the hotel.Sandra and Fredy(front desk) for being friendly to me during my check-in and check-out.Last but not least, Nick(cleaner, nightshift on 14oct), he was very kind to help me and my friend to get some food during mid night even it is not his duty! Really appreciate it! Most of the staff of crowne plaza are nice but some of the front desk staff are a bit impolite and not very helpful. Since I'm not a native English speaker so my English is definitely not very fluent, one of the front desk staff was impatient and rude to me and my friend when we were seeking help during mid night. My friend and I were feeling uncomfortable and sad about this. We sincerely hope crowne plaza hotel can provide some extra training to the front desk staff because their attitudes do represent the first impression of the hotel.Besides, I was pretty surprised that there are no bottles of water, slippers, kettle and refrigerator in the hotel room. It's quite annoying that I have to call 70 to request stuff every day. Anyway, I'm ok with the clean room and the location of the hotel. In addition, I would like to thank you the friendly staff that I have mentioned again!!
Just back from New York, stayed in the crowne plaza for 4 nights. Had a twin room with my husband and daughter. Very clean rooms. Great service all round. Would recommend .Went to the bar " broadway 49" in the hotel and the service by Felipe was excellent. Also used the coffee shop in the hotel " grind" yummy cakes and lovely coffee
