Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan
- What's Included
The Crown Plaza Times Square Manhattan was a very good base to experience New York. This was our first visit to New York and the hotel was all we could ask for. Our room was on the 43 floor and the view out over the city was very good. Breakfast was self service with a plentiful and very good choice of continental and cooked breakfast. Special orders were cooked to order. Although the hotel was busy it was very friendly and the staff could not do enough for you. Staff who deserve a special mention are as follows.Corinne and Joanne on the Concierge desk. these two ladies could not do enough for their guest booking a Broadway show for us, advising on excellent restaurants, giving tips on what to visit and best way to get there etc. Superb service ladies thank you very much.In the Breakfast room the waiter Alfredo was excellent and the Food and Beverage outlet manager Karim Sharif was very helpful. Also a special mention for Christopher Diamantakis who resolved one or two problems we had with the booking made via Cunard. Our room was serviced very well by the room attendants no complaints there. Bar staff and waiters in the bar were very polite and again could not do enough for you.All in all when we go back to New York we will be staying at the Crown Plaza as I find it hard to see how our stay could be improved in any hotel with a similar rating. Value for money a very good choice.
My first time in NY and I have chosen this hotel for it's location. It's so centrally you can get everything nearby. The hotel has some points to improve. On checking in, the first contact, I didn't feel friendly approached by the reception. It was short and to the point. In the room it was a bit worn out. It really needed some renovation. The bathtub is old and although it is clean I don't expect this in a 4 star hotel. The bed has worn out head board it really needed to be replaced. The hotel won't give you the luxury feeling as expected. On checking out the reception had the same handling. Short and cold to customers.
Keon was very kind to let my 8yo boy have breakfast with me and my daughter as we only have 2 meal stubs after telling him that My son will only have milk and cereals . He was very accommodating and friendly as well.
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for 2 nights. We were able to walk to Central Park, and the MoMA, check out 5th and Madison Avenues, jump on the subway to go to Battery Park and the Guggenheim. Their coffee shop was easy for breakfast the first morning, rooms were clean, staff was friendly and we felt safe with lots of security staff and measures to get to room. We also parked our car there. We were a little nervous about that. We had forgotten something in the car so they escorted my husband to it. He couldn't believe how tightly packed in they were- like one of those shifting puzzles! He was unable to open any door but window was down and he could reach in and grab the item. My husband and I had a drink one night at the bar- $35! I guess we paid for the experience because it wasn't anything special. The only thing we could have used in our room was a mini fridge! View of Times Square was perfect! Would definitely stay here again!
This hotel location was perfection. We were so close to everything and I was actually surprised at how big our room was for NYC. I was concerned about the extra 30$ day fee but that was waived for my IGH membership. The total for the room was supposed to be $896 but was initially charged $1124. After inquiring the front desk did inform me that this would drop off after check out which it did. The room was nice, but the air conditioning was less than perfect. It was extremely hot that weekend so that may have had something to do with it. The housekeeping was great. They came early every day and we never had to ask when they were arriving. The hotel staff was always super nice and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
