Grand Hyatt New York
- What's Included
Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, after a 14 hours flight, checked in and was surprised to experience a room that does not fit a 5 star hotel description. The first room given to me had a door problem, it would not shut, after repeated requests I was shifted to a new room.Shifting to a new room was only possible because of the house keeping staff Ms Narcise. She went out of her way to make sure I get a replacement room urgently so that I can rest. The second room given to me was better than the first room, it was bigger and had sunlight coming in and I was happy. However there were nails in the carpet which the flooring company might have worked on and the hotel did not bother to check it. I stepped on to one of the five nails that we discovered from our room and I was bleeding. I requested for maintenance team to see me so that they can remove the nails from the carpet but they did not show up for one hour, I called up the hotel management and they promised me to urgently attend to me but they did not show up for the next 45 minutes. Frustrated, I left for the day and went to attend my agenda. No one bothered to call my back and apologise for the room quality and none thanked me for reporting the nails. The hotel is old, cosmetically refurbished but does not feel 5star.Rooms are okay but the finish and the fixtures are not comfortable enough for a 5 star comfort and experience.Rooms dont have anything in the mini bar, the rooms dont have slippers, laundry bags are missing and the room service menu is misplaced or available only on demand. TV guide is non existent and ice is missing from the freezer.Toiletries are pretty average, towels are old and does not feel luxury of a 5 star hotel.A few good things about the hotel are it's location, a 24x7 market within the hotel. There is nothing Grand about this Grand Hyatt.
Loved the hotelIt was Expensive Then the Indian Couter PartBut A great ExperienceThe Best thing was that the internet connection was superbIts for my work experience i liked the hotelrooms are pretty good
Was in town for a convention, and there isn't much more you could ask for. Friendly staff, good rooms with great views, and most importantly quiet. The doormen were always there with taxis ready to go which made the trip very convenient.
Great location. Excellent service. 24 hour market and very good restaurants. Someone is always there to help you with all your needs. Happy vacation. Have stayed at the Hyatt at different times of the year and always found the service the same.
I have stayed with gh globally and this is the worst gh i have even been to.. landed from london and no baggage handlers to take our big bags, no one came after even talking to check in counter which is worst.. we carried heavy bags ourselves, no toothpaste, no slippers, room next to a ice machine which created noise every time some one use it... room airconditioner never worked properly and so noisy could not seep properly.. Hardly any space in the bathroom to even put a toilet kit, Our room was looking into a most dirty outer hyatt area which was never cleaned for yrs which I asked duty manger to check since it was so dirty and depressing and i could not beleive that such a dirty building right outside the room window.Dury manger came and apologised and he was a good person and I told him i have helped hyatt extensively for business with cisco even stayed at gh at beijing when sars disease came since every one ran away and gh beijing hotel gm thank me for staying and also when hyatt open 2nd hotel in seoul i helped to get cisco business there and hyatt apacj always looked after me and iam very satisfied and gratefull for their services..I do not complain but gh ny is a 3 star dirty hotel and never upto hyatt brand and iam sorry to say and will never stay there.. it has lost its hyatt pride and legendary service. I feel i have been robbed of my valuable points.Iam now in Hyatt regency in HK and love the place and duty of care since Apacj hyatt services are excellent and caring.I will leave hk on Saturday and to Tokyo and will stay at hyatt there.I was almost resident at beijing gh almost 3 yrs and months in hyatt Tokyo and always live the services they offered..I have been never treated like this in hyatt globally, and sorry to say that....
