Grand Hyatt New York
- What's Included
I tend to stay at Grand Hyatt when on business trips, given its great location, expedited service and cleanliness. However the sound insulation is rather poor in some rooms, which are also a bit run down. It is also somewhat expensive for the value. That said, it is one of the best hotels Midtown.
We have stayed here almost every month for a week each month since June. We've had mostly pleasant experiences until our last stay. We had a room mess up and it didn't get sorted out very well. The lack of disregard has made me not want to stay here again. When things are good, they are fine, but if something goes wrong, it's handled poorly.
This is my "go to" hotel when I come to Manhattan for business...its location next to Grand Central Terminal, and proximity to mid town, and Central Park make it the perfect place to stay. Great restaurants nearby, easy transport, and quiet rooms are a plus!
We have visited New York 3 times now and have stayed at the Grand Hyatt each time. We were pleasantly surprised to find we had been upgraded to a Club room this time which was much appreciated. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a desk and chair, settee and easy chair, free room safe which was easy to use and a fridge. Good size TV. Walk in wardrobe and touch operated lights and blinds- unlike other reviewers, we had no difficulty in using anything. The bathroom is small but has everything you want (we would have liked a bath to soak our weary legs after long days out). The water was hot, instantly available and the toiletries provided are good quality. We didn't hear any noise from the street unless you opened a window and nothing from any other guests. The Grand Club to which we were given access provided a great breakfast. Everything you could want and all replenished frequently. We ate there every morning instead of going out to eat. It was very busy and you sometimes struggled to get a table but we found the staff very helpful in finding us a table and clearing it for us. As the weather was so good we also had the option to eat outside on the terrace. Drinks are available all the time and usually some cookies so we could get a coffee after we came back to the hotel and before going out again for the night. There was also a buffet of hors d'ouvres in the evening. All the staff we dealt with were lovely-friendly and polite. There are about 20 lifts so you never have to wait and the lobby provides plenty of seating if you need somewhere to sit to wait for your pick up to the airport. Bags can be left for $3.00 each. We were also given a free later check out until 1.00pm .Situated right next door to Grand Central Station, the hotel is in a perfect location. A reasonably short walk up to Times Square or to 5th Avenue, Statue of Liberty, and the Rockefeller Centre. For us, best place to stay in New York.
Good location, right next to Grand Central Terminal subway station, there are many food stalls inside the terminal, very convenient for food. Burger stall Shake Shack is delicious. Our room has two queen size bed, however, I feel that it is a bit small, walk space in the room is quite narrow. Anyway, overall is clean and comfortable bed.
