Grand Hyatt New York
- What's Included
Loved the Grand Hyatt. I usually don't love huge hotels, but they somehow manage to make the hotel feel more boutiquey than its size. The rooms are modern, bed and pillows excellent, plenty of closet space. The room has a cozy little couch with a coffee table that doubles as a work station, which worked great for me. Location is great - I prefer to stay downtown where it's less chaotic, but there is so much right there. Grand Central is accessible without going outside, including Cafe Grumpy coffee, countless shops and restaurants. The hotel itself has a lively and friendly bar over 42nd St.Everyone seemed to remember me even if they didn't. Friendly and well trained people, from the greeter, to the desk, to the bar, to housekeeping. All great people.Loved my stay.
The worst NYC hotel I have ever stayed. Small outdated room, poor quality sheets and towels, industrial toilet, paper thin walls, hear everything next door, the list goes on. And that was with a room upgrade Wow.
This is a hard review as there were things that deserved 5 stars, other items 4 and some as low as 1. So let's start with what was 5 stars. The cost per room was for NY and location bestvalue you will ever find . Almost all employees in various departments were well trained, attentive, helpful and got things done quickly and efficiently in contacts we had with various employees. 4 stars for the room. It was clean, huge TV's and beds were comfortable enough if you like firm. Amenities minimal. Take a star offfor the smallest bathrooms I have ever seen. ( Smaller then the TV in the room, lol)Rooms small but expected for NY and price.Hotel itself is almost as big as the Grand Central Station next door. Now for the low ratings. Lines to check certaintimes of the day were up to an hour wait. We arrived early in the morning and checked in quickly but had to wait for the room until the afternoon. When we were contacted by phone that room was ready and come and get the keys. We had to stay in line this time with others checking in just to pick up the key. Took an hour. The humorous part for the check in process was getting an email 3 hours lateroffering we can check in online. In this case better late then never does not apply.Same thing on checkout. Email arrived to checkout hours after we had already checked out. Needs some reprogramming. So overall 3 stars but in many things better than that.
Our fourth visit to this hotel. It is well located next to Grand Central Station. Great restaurants, shopping and attractions within walking distance. I must commend the pre-arrival team of Nisha and Farah for their excellent service. One of the reasons why we keep going back. The rooms and furniture do need upgrading. It is a large busy hotel. The workout room is adequate.
This is a very nice hotel located right next to Grand Central Station! The room is clean, big, staff is very helpful, valet services, exceptionally conditions! There are lots of choices around the hotel, including a Farmers market in the Grand Central Station! It's a nice hotel and we will go there again!
