Holiday Inn Midtown
- What's Included
Not being familiar with the hotels of NYC we picked one at random due to the location. The hotel itself is a bit dated however everything was clean and comfortable and we certainly don't have any complaints. If you want a reasonably-priced hotel in a central location then consider this, but if you prefer your hotels to have a bit of character then this probably itsn't for you.
The hotel room was extremely hot. Asked the front desk about it and they said they could only have hot or cold air because the hotel had only one central unit. But on the bright side the windows opened a little and allowed some air flow. The front desk and concierge were very nice and helpful. They even held our bags for us and made a bus pickup for one of my friends to go to the airport. The room and beds were comfortable but the bathroom was weird shaped. The tub was small and we had no water pressure.
The hotel rooms are neat and clean. Comfortable beds and pillows as well. At the time of my visit the room temperature was unbearable. Was extremely hot in the entire building.Asked for a fan but it wasn't that helpful. Was told that the system is centrally controlled during each season. Which is the craziest thing I have ever heard of. Most hotels allow you to control the AC/heat in each individual room. Also no microwaves or refrigerators in rooms. The breakfast restaurant is overpriced and doesn't have many choices. The room doors also slam very hard causing noise throughout hallways.
Stayed for 5 nights at The Holiday Inn 57th Street November 2016. Our room 1110 on the 11th floor had a nice view especially at night of typical New York buildings. The room itself was clean and warm, it had a safe and a very good coffee maker! A very comfortable bed and you could ask for extra pillows if you prefer softer or firmer ones. The bathroom was well equipped and the shower was powerful and hot. We booked two shows via the reception desk and also they arranged the shuttle bus time when we were checking out. I can't comment on the breakfasts as we ate out every day, the desk gave us a 10% discount card for Route 66 restaurant which was only 2 minutes away (I can recommend them) Overalll very happy to have stayed here.
This hotel is really central and good value for money yes it does need updating but the room was a very good size and spotless. stayed on the 17th floor and had a great view of the city too. will definitely use again.
