If I decide to come back to New York in the future I would have no hesitation in coming back to this hotel Watson you was amazing thank you all guys and hopefully see you soon in the near future steve :)
I can't believe some of the bad reviews on here. We were lucky enough to choose this establishment for our holiday in NYC in August and stayed a week as part of our epic three week holiday in Iceland, Toronto and NYC from the UK.. We found the place slightly quirky and a little eccentric in a charming way and the staff were courteous and very professional. The room was spacious for NYC , clean and comfortable and its location was perfect for us in Manhattan. I suppose the place could do with refurbishment in some areas but the Watson's investors will expect a ROI and prices would rise in what I think offers excellent value for money. Our toilet was faulty on day four but a plumber was sent within five minutes and he fixed it within five minutes, which was American customer service at its finest ,as we all know a faulty toilet can really spoil your holiday. My wife and I really enjoyed the bar which was atmospheric for a hotel and our teenage daughter enjoyed the rooftop pool which was an absolute diamond. It was great to take a dip on a hot day with all those iconic skyscrapers in the background. to sum up I can say that the charismatic General Manager Joe Cecala and his team did their best to make our stay in our New York base memorable for all the right reasons. We've already recommended it to our friends. However, this being trip advisor I have to blame the hotel for something so I will accuse them of making me eat their superb steak and egg brunches and neck those poolside cocktails and the inevitable weight gain so I'll be needing legal advice. Those American portions have a lot to answer for shame on you my dear Watson!..
As per other reviews, a mouse showed up in my room. Got 50% discount when complained -it seemed quite a routine thing. Wifi was entirely down during my stay and the room phone did not seem to work. Big rooms. Tired décor. Good location. Good room coffee.
We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at The Watson. Excellent location with a short walk to subway and Central Park. Within walking distance of TimesSquare. Good Neighbourhood.Check in/out was speedy and efficient. Room was clean and a reasonable size, with a view of city skyline. Did not use restaurant or pool. Good free wifi.
Convenient location. Less than 20min walk from the nearest Subway Station (59th Street Columbus Circle). Hotel is clean. Great American breakfast. A 20min walk from Times Square and less than 10min walk from Central Park.
