Thanksgiving trip

I stayed 2 nights at the Hyatt. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast has good choices, is tasty and of course seating can be a challenge because it gets really full. And during the breakfast rush, the elevators are full and take forever. My room was clean, however it was a bit small. The closet was narrow. Minimal amenities, there was no body lotion or shower gel. I didn't like that there were no curtains. The hotel is ideally located for the parade, which passes right on the corner. It was not a bad for a short stay.

Avoid at all cost

Hyatt gold member, spent $400 at this hotel. The HVAC system was like a jet taxiing, which I guess was good because it stopped me hearing the couple arguing next story. Large cart outside my room when I checked in and out, which you could hardly walk around. Hallway smelled of not sure what, sort of blend of frat house and mold. Worst Hyatt experience ever! Enjoy

Great value for money and can't beat the location!

Recently stayed 11 nights at Hyatt Place, the location was perfect. Room on the 20th floor offered a great view of ESB, with 2 double beds and a sofa bed for the 3 of us,and street noise was very minimal. Bathroom offered a bath/shower combination. Housekeeping were very efficient, always our room was made up early. Breakfast offered a good selection, we never had to queue or wait as we went around 7.30am. Only had a couple of times where we had to wait more than a few minutes for a lift. My mother, daughter and I really enjoyed our stay, the value for money is excellent, and we would recommend and stay again.

Excellent value for the money

I asked for a quiet room on a high floor when I arrived, and they upgraded me to a delightful room with view looking south. It was spacious, clean, attractively furnished and well lit. Bathroom was good, too, although I think Hyatt can do better than MADE IN CHINA toiletries--personally, given all of the health scares and scandals in China, I'd never use a Chinese made toiletry on my skin. But the room was charming, and the best was when I returned from dinner and went to close the blinds. Standing by the window, I had a view of the Empire State Building at night that took my breathe away. Just spectacular. Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful, too. Will definitely make this my NYC go-to hotel, especially since room rates were remarkably reasonable and location is so good.

Good Hotel, excellent location

We arrived at the hotel after a long journey from London at around 1330, the weather was poor but the check-in was quick and easy. The room was good for the 4 people (2 adults and 2 children) as it had 2 double beds and a sofa bed, although not much space left once the sofa bed was down. Disappointingly as we were on the 8th floor the view was only of a wall of the adjacent building. The location is very close to the Empire State building in one direction and Times Square in the other, a short walk to many bars and restaurants. We found this locations as a base for site seeing very good. Some issues were the breakfast room is small and a large queue can form, also returning to the room from breakfast is difficult due to capacity of the 2 lifts being relatively small for the number of floors in the hotel. On the day of departure we waited 10 minutes for a lift to take us to reception. The hotel uses a local taxi company but it seemed that they do not have many taxis as we were quoted a 45 minute wait for a cab to the airport on departure, we ended up hailing one in the street,Overall a good hotel for a family stay at a good price. For our return in February we will however be staying at the Hilton and requested a higher floor.
