Amazing view of the Empire State Building

The room was extremely clean and comfortable, and much more spacious than expected for a NYC hotel room. The best part of it was the view of the Empire state through a huge window right next to the queen sized bed. This alone was worth the price! In general, the hotel staff were also very helpful and courteous. One night I forgot my handbag in the lobby (busy texting!) and by the time I got up to my floor, realized and came back down, they had noticed and already secured it. Pretty sure this is not an everyday occurrence in Manhattan. The breakfast buffet was also decent and surprisingly presented much more than the generic bacon-sausage-eggs-hash-browns offerings.

Quite room

We had a room on the 14th floor, at the backside, we could see a glimp of the Empire state building! The room was larger then expected an it was quite at night, so you can get some good and needed rest, which is good, because the hotel is in midtown (Korea Town), on stumbling distance from the biggest Macy's I ever have seen and only a 10 minute walk to the Madison Square Garden, were you can see a game of the Knicks, which is a must for all non US visitors, it's nothing like we have in Europe. Time Square is also on walking distance. Basically the hotel is your recovery place, after all the shopping, watch games, going out.The showers are good and hot!The only comment I have is the wait for the elevators, and it gets crowded for breakfast, but the hotel advises you times when it is not so busy. For you short shopping / Site seeing trips to NYC and if you do not want to pay too much for a comfy bed I would recommend the Hyatt Place.

Mostly good

It is a nice hotel and we had a nice room. There are just a few areas that need tightening up. Our room wasn't as clean as it might have been. Not dirty, but surfaces coated with dust etc. One day we didn't get a room clean, and when I asked about this at reception instead of an apology I was offered the maintenance man who could take out the trash only. Eventually they located someone who stopped by and did a rush clean. Another day the young lady on reception had a bit of an attitude when I was asking to pay my bill. Other than these small things there really isn't much wrong with the Hyatt. The breakfast room is not big enough, and if you're not down early you will be lining up or going somewhere else for breakfast. Maybe they should look at the 1st floor or basement as a possible solution to this. The hotel is simply too big for the current breakfast room to handle. On the plus side we slept well in a comfortable bed and had amazing views of the Empire State Building. (see picture - room 2201) Hotel position very central. Walking distance to Times Square, Macys, Empire State. Nice little deli next door if you wanted to take something up to the room.

Comfortable stay, good service & great breakfast!

We flew in on an early flight so reached the hotel way before check in time and were given a room with two-double beds right away at no extra cost (we had a booked a room with 1 king). Location is great, hotel is very clean and the breakfast included in the room rate was great as well! Best part was that the price was amazing for NYC! Highly recommend.

Great Value

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at this hotel and I highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a modestly priced hotel in New York City. The size of the room is very small but the layout has been designed so as to make it very functional and comfortable. All of the staff I came into contact with were extremely friendly and helpful, providing any assistance needed. The free breakfast is a wonderful perk. Being located on 36th street, the hotel is very quiet and tranquil but at this same time it is only a few minutes walk from the center of town.
