- What's Included
Everything about this place is special and you know it as you're walking in the door. Exquisite detail in everything they do from the glass entrance to the unique art down to the choice of floors. If you look up the ceilings are even cool looking. The room has wood floors so no worries of what lies in the typical gross hotel room carpet. Well located but tucked away so you can get solace in the middle of NYC. I rarely give a rating of 5 but The Marmara certainly deserves it.
The Marmara Manhattan was a pleasant surprise. We are suburban New Yorkers, and needed a decent, but not expensive, Manhattan hotel within walking distance of Mount Sinai Hospital. The Marmara fit the bill and was the only hotel in the area with available rooms. The hotel exceeded my expectations by being clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet.. Our one bedroom apartment (converted condo apparently) had a full sized kitchen with nice Crate & Barrel type dinnerware. The rooms are simply decorated, and while certainly not luxury level, we were comfortable and slept well. The location was pretty good as well - two blocks to the crosstown bus, immediately adjacent to the new 2nd Avenue Subway and moderate walking distance (uphill) to Mount Sinai, Central Park and the Museum Mile. The Marmara Manhattan staff was professional, friendly and helpful. The only negative for us was the strangely inappropriate disco type music playing in the elevators.
Jeff MWe really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect and the amenities were just right. The staff from those who cleaned our rooms, the doormen, and those at the front desk all contributed to a stress-free stay. Special kudos to Erik, John, and Roger at the front desk who patiently answered all of our questions. We look forward to our next day at the Marmara Manhattan.
Stayed in this apartment for 3 days, and well surprised to be upgrade into a huge suite at 20th floor. Amazing view, great balcony, but you can easily suffer from vertigo...Clean, well equipped, comfortable.staff pleasant and helpfulvery near the metro subway (Q line) and 2 blocks from central park.We really enjoy staying thereThanks
My husband and I spent 5 nights at the Marmara Manhattan last week, and absolutely loved it. I would start by saying that I had previously booked a small hotel further down on the Upper East Side, and then was put off by increasingly bad reviews, so a few months ago we made alternative arrangements, paid a bit extra, and booked a one bedroom apartment at the Marmara and we are so glad we did. It was the best decision, and totally changed our holiday. I can't speak highly enough of this hotel and its staff. We were in New York to celebrate my 50th birthday, and our 26th wedding anniversary, both on 25th May. My husband had e-mailed several weeks beforehand, advising that it was my special birthday, and when we arrived for check-in we were delighted to be told that we had been upgraded to what they described as a large one bedroom apartment on the 19th floor, with a view towards the East River. What we got was a huge corner apartment with large windows all round, and a great balcony, so we had views not only towards the river as promised, but also right down 2nd Avenue towards the Empire State Building, along 94th Street towards Central Park, and across the higher streets on the Upper East Side. I did wonder if this was a 2 bedroom apartment, with one room closed off. It was amazing! We had a huge open-plan lounge, dining room and kitchen, with a big bedroom and en-suite bathroom, and also a separate bathroom. All furnishings, flooring, carpeting, kitchen appliances, bathroom fittings etc. were modern and in excellent condition, everything was absolutely spotless, and the bed was a dream to sleep in. We had numerous wardrobes and cupboards, washer and dryer, dishwasher, hob and oven, fabulous fridge and freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, TV in both lounge and bedroom, powerful hairdryers, a safe, absolutely everything we could have wanted or needed, and the apartment was cleaned daily, with beautiful, soft fresh towels daily. On my birthday, I came back in the afternoon to a lovely bottle of fizz and balloons, and that was just wonderful. All staff were absolutely amazing. The location was excellent for us, with the subway station literally steps from the front door, and we walked both to Central Park and also over to the river and walked along the lovely promenade there and into Carl Schurz Park. I loved absolutely everything about this place, didn't want to leave, and cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you all, you fabulous people!!
