Marriott Marquis New York
- What's Included
Was terrible! Will never stay there again! People not helpful, service horrible! Can hear every noise, rooms not sound proof. Can hear people walking outside door. Conceirge no help at all! Majorilly overpriced!!!!!! You would think for over $500. A night you would receive excellent service and quality, NOT!!!!!!!!!
My husband, older son and I stayed at the Marriott Marquis the weekend before Christmas for three nights. The hotel was super busy. The service was fabulous which was impressive. We are Marriott Elite members. An upgrade wasn't available when we checked in. We had booked a corner executive room that was very spacious. It looked out onto the Hudson. It was a great room. Ms. Wyatt the Front Desk Manager said she would call us if an upgrade became available. The next day she called and upgraded us to a lovely one bedroom suite that overlooked Times Square. Thank you Ms. Wyatt! The rooms were clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful from the maid service to the bellhop to the staff running a very busy concierge lounge/rooms. The location is fabulous. We will definitely stay here again!
Huge is an understatement. This hotel is gigantic. I stayed here two nights for a business trip, and my accommodations were arranged by an agency. Step out of the door and you will find yourself in the middle of Times Square, which I suppose might be convenient for some, but it creates a Las Vegas atmosphere. The location is otherwise convenient to the midtown attractions, many of which are in walking distance. You just have to first take one of the numerous, alphabetized elevators down and then join the throng in Times Square as you head to Lincoln Center or MOMA. My junior suite on the 19 floor faced Times Square, but there was no troubling noise from the street below. At night I did have to close the heavy drape to blot out the flashing lights. My room was basic Marriott, comfortable enough, and the bathroom and shower were fine. I would not have chosen this hotel, but if you are looking for sercurity in large numbers of tourists and want to be in Times Square I suppose this is a reasonable choice. The room rate, by New York standards, was very good.
We stayed at this hotel from December 26th-30th. Check-in was easy, we arrived early, they have a room that's specifically for guests who arrive early to store their luggage; very safe. Located on Time Square 45th and broadway. Our room was simple. 1 king Bed and a pull out sofa. View was ok, it's NY, everything is blocked by buildings. Bathroom was a typical bathroom, spacious, under the vanity it was dirty however, but nothing that couldn't be fixed with a simple swipe. All and all. It's an ok hotel. You pay for staying right on Time Square. Walking distance to subways, Rockefeller, 5th ave, 42nd st, Bryant park, Union Square, Madison Square Garden. Delicious places to eat. Would stay again for sure if in NYC.
Nice setting and spectacular views however found the food very average and not good value for money. Very expensive. Took my partner for her 40th and whilst we had a great night overall it wasn't worth what it cost.
