Marriott Marquis New York
- What's Included
This hotel is in the perfect location for those who love the theater (like myself) and those who want to be right in Times Square. The room was very nice, however the beds were a tad small for our liking. The view was incredible from the 42 floor. The elevators experienced "slow downs" on multiple occasions rendering us late for a few things whilst waiting for the elevators to show. The staff is amazing, helpful and friendly. We needed a refrigerator for medical supplies and it was brought up promptly. The room had a coffee maker and a huge TV.
Excellent stay here for work. Easy access to food and subway. The staff were attentive and very friendly. Executive lounge was well stocked with breakfast and drinks. When I asked for a refrigerator one was delivered immediately. Thanks Marriott Marquis!
With our primary objectives being to catch a Broadway Show, the NY Marriott Marquis was the perfect location. The staff was extremely friendly (except for the Broadway Ticket woman on staff, wasn't that friendly) but the bell hops, concierge, front desk, everyone else were great! Close to subway entrances, we really loved staying here for our trip to NYC! Will definitely stay again. The only thing for me was as we were there for 3 nights, it would have been great to have a mini fridge in the room.
I took my 3 daughters for a 2-day trip to NY. The person who checked us in, Geraldine, was warm and welcoming. Our room was very nice and had an amazing view. Geraldine sent some amenities which my girls enjoyed. The Marquis was definitely a highlight of the trip. Thank you!
After watching the Tony Awards in June, my family and I suddenly had a hankerin' to make a trip to Broadway. We had four shows to see in five days, so the Marriott Marquis' location in Times Square just made sense. I had no idea until we got there, however, just how well situated the hotel was. Our check-in agent, Leighton, was friendly and professional. We had one room for the first two nights, expanding to three rooms once other members of our party joined us two days later. The hotel is right on Times Square. You walk outside, along the building, and BAM! you're there, surrounded by street performers, food stands and interesting members of the human race.On the third day, the others were at the hotel by noon. As check-in time was 4 p.m. I didn't hold out much hope for their rooms to be ready, but the desk agent looked at her inventory and immediately assigned them rooms so they could settle in.The rooms are big for New York and each one has a pullout couch so no need to order a rollaway bed for a third person.Over the course of our stay, we were able to walk to every Broadway show with ease. We were sitting in the Shubert Theatre at 7:40 p.m. for the 8 p.m. performance of Bette Midler in "Hello Dolly!" when my sister realised she had left her glasses in her hotel room. I was able to run back to the hotel (and I am NO athlete), up to her room, grab the glasses and get back to my seat within 15 minutes. We found all the staff at the Marriott Marquis helpful, charming and accommodating. Shout out to Denise in The View on the 48th floor, which offers a slowly revolving view of Manhattan. She was a terrific server who steered us towards the Jamaican Sidecar cocktail, which is now one of my new favourites. If you are in town for the shows, you'll save a fortune in cabs when you stay at this hotel. We would book there again in a heartbeat.
