NY Quick Getaway

My kids and I as well as my mother visited New York to sight see as well as shop a little. We stayed Saturday night into Sunday evening. Upon arriving at the hotel and being greeted by the bellman was pleasant. He was really nice and informative as he reported working there for 20 years. The lobby was very cleaned. The elevators were confusing as the left side went up to the sixteenth floor as opposed to the right side that went up past the sixteenth floor. As we entered our room, it was very cleaned and organized but you could see a lot of wear and tear in the room. The hotel didn't offer room service but it did have a restaurant inside the hotel. The hotel did not have a pool. The hotel was average but lacked the essentials for infants and toddlers. The hotel was in the center of downtown and a block away from the World Trade Center Memorial. Also a few blocks in the opposite direction was the Statue of Liberty. On the sixteenth floor, we could see the Statue of Liberty from our hotel window.

Amazing Views

I booked a double room for a weekend in NYC for vacation and I was not disappointed. We had an amazing view of Manhattan and was very close to train stations that easily took us around NYC. The staff was super friendly and helpful when looking for great spots to visit. The restaurant in the hotel was great for a quick beer at night & there was a Starbucks in the hotel to help start off your day. I definitely recommend staying at the NY Marriott Downtown!

Real disappointment - don't stay here with a family

What is wrong here? Rooms were not or only partly cleaned, WiFi is not free, even if it is included in your booking, tv signal is poor, mattresses are old, no complementary water even for kids when it is 90+ outside. Prices are understandably higher due to the location, but the experience Staff promises everything but does nothing.Be prepared to be disappointed and to have to discuss everything you are entitled too including room cleaning.

Poorly trained front desk

This was a business trip. My room was in the Executive floor. The view was quite nice. I was never told by the front desk staff that I have access to the executive lounge or that I could have Wi-Fi at no cost there. They never mentioned to me that breakfast was available at the executive lounge. The room was quite expensive. The staff should at least inform the guests on these benefits. That is why you pay an expensive room. The drapers were quite dirty. They should be replaced. Staff is poorly trained and lacks of initiative. This is an old hotel in a good area. Bed was fine. Bathroom was basic. Essentials were not very special.

Tremendous view - Junior Suite

I booked a room for 3 days for a conference at the WTC, amazing view from my room. Nice hotel, great location, 5 minutes from everything WTC. I will look at this hotel again for business or pleasure. Concierge was also very good!
