Martha Washington Hotel
- What's Included
While the rooms were small (very European), they were clean and well appointed. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms were fine. The breakfast was much above your usual continental fair. We especially loved the fresh fruit and bagels. The concierge was outstanding. He found us sitting in the lounge one afternoon and came in to give us many pointers about the general area and NYU specifically! He really made our stay! We definitely plan to follow his advice and book early for graduation since we were already too late for parents weekend!
My sister and I stayed here to celebrate her 40th birthday in New York. The location is fantastic and the hotel itself is beautiful. The staff are all very helpful and friendly too. In fact nothing seemed too much trouble at all for them. The room was very clean and well suited to our needs. Also would heartily recommend the restaurant, North Square! Breakfasts were delicious and again the service was brilliant. We would also recommend that you try them out for an evening meal too.
Great location in the Village...that says a lot. The hotel is always busy, this was my second visit, and I think the staff was overwhelmed. It's not a swanky place, I knew that, but it seemed a bit run down. They ran out of coffee cups one morning, housekeeping is incredibly slow--they don't arrive until ten and sometimes our room was still unmade at 4:00.I heard other guests complaining about that, too. The front desk does as best it can, but aren't well informed as to restaurants in the area. By the way, Babbo is across the street!!! Stellar spot. Book it in advance. The Knickerbocker is a Village landmark, but no one at the desk knew that or if they did , they didn't offer it as a suggestion. The whole place seems tired. If you decide to stay there, make sure you book a room away from the elevator.Ronny is great, always friendly and informed.Sadly, I will not be staying here again. My friends tell me the Marleton is better.
A well location Hotel right in the middle of Manhattan with a cafe attached below open for breakfasts. Our room was small but we only needed it for sleeping at night which was fine and for a Hotel right in Greenwich Village, it was affordable.
The headline above says it all. The rooms are not large, but mine was immaculate and all I needed. The bathroom sparkled with white tile. If you want to be in or near the West Village, I highly recommend it.
