Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel
- What's Included
I was very disappointed by the room I stayed in. The only redeeming factor was that I was on the 16th floor and street noise was relatively subdued. Noise level from neighbors was tolerable, but better sound insulation would not have hurt, though it was typical from that of most hotels. The most disappoint part was the shape in which the room was,Not only was it relatively small (basically, European standard), but the carpet was old and above all smelled like old socks, and the bathroom was totally antiquated (peeling paint in some corners and loose faucet fixtures). There was also a missing handset in one of the two phones in the room (not that I missed it).Overall, I will certainly try not to stay there again if it can be helped (I did not pick the hotel this time).
We came to New York for a few days prior to our cruise. We love New York. Even though the rooms are nothing to write home about we stay for the Club Lounge view! Unfortunately if you are coming after September 25th they are moving the Club Lounge to the ground floor what a mistake. I would consider staying somewhere else with more updated rooms if we don't have the view. Our bathroom has peeling wallpaper and the room is small and supposedly this is a nice room for a Platinum member. Love the staff in the Club Lounge nice way to start your day. I would recommend the hotel focus on upgrading rooms before changing the Club Lounge.
We were in the hotel for a week in september 2017, very good location, next to the center, clean rooms, we were in the 16th floor, very nice room, and the staff very kind to every one there is a lot of coffie places next to the hotel
This hotel was perfectly situated near Central Park and shopping and Times Square and Broadway! The service was good. With our Gold membership it allowed us to get a late checkout on our last day and on our first day they had a place to store our bags till our room was ready.
I stayed 3 days at this Sheraton location. So why 3/5 stars? The hotel is close enough to walk to a lot of places like Central Park, Time Square and many of the theaters which is a plus.As for the customer service, I thought the front desk staff and staff outside the front entrance were friendly, but the guy in the room to hold peoples luggage did not seem all that friendly. The hotel was nice enough to store our luggage free of charge since we arrived early and were staying with them. The elevators are run by an electronic pad that tells you which elevator to take after to press what floor you are going to.The room upon initial observation appeared clean. For whatever reason, we were given a handicap room even though we pre-registered. The controls to open and close the shades could be more easier to operate. The shades were dirty as was the bed skirt. Not to mention the door to the bathroom had noticeable pieces missing from it and a couple of lights fixtures throughout the room were angled. Lastly, I am sure the bulb used for the lamps were probably 250w+ power bulbs since the room was daylight when the lamps were turned on.
