The worst instance was having a man enter my room at 2:39 am ... after screaming my head off and calling security. ItTurns out the butler service had confused my 7 am espresso wake up coffee and sent it at this time. After knocking he decided to enter...I was shaking for a long time afterwards.... (AND they charged me for the new 7 am espresso order that came in..)This was beyond unacceptable. A male entering a guest room with card in middle of the night. Let alone a single woman. I am also visibly muslim, so it was additionally frightening. I have so many complaints.1. No noise canceling windows. On 19th floor and it was such a noisy room (add UN week security Siren noise for every passing head of state and I did not want to stay in my room). Wirj just normal NY traffic, seeping was always disrupted. 2. Phones not well made. Everytime I use it, have to ensure that ear piece is placed just so, as otherwise line gets engaged, despite the ear piece being in the right position. There is an obvious malfunction. Each time I did not do that, security came in to wake me up by knocking, as my line would be engaged. After 3 days, I took the extra minute to manipulate the ear piece and check that line is not engaged by calling the phone. 3. Mini bar. during my 15 day stay, mini bar was not restocked except if I ask for restocking. Had to ask for an nespresso machine (should be standard at this level room). And was told they did know if they had it (i insisted, and got one_ They did not have long use cream, and so every time I had to call for fresh creme which took 15 minutes to get to my room. By which time I needed to leave4. Bathroom amenities. Sometimes shower gel not put, once I used my bathrobe it took 3 days and a phone call to get another one sent. my own toiletry item was thrown away (they were nice and tried to replace it with 2 different items, but it is not the same thing)5. Hygine. The cleaning and arranging of my make up area was sloppy. Makeup remover pads were sometimes left... Dust was on my clock that was not cleaned up6. inroom diningA. got old dry bread last night...B. Staff almost never opened up the table and arranged silverwareC. Lobby, inroom dinning are exactly the same. Boring after 15 days of having to work in my room.7. Lobby... In lobby coffee shop, they were short staffed, severely. In front of my eyes, plates were broken as they were carried out several times ...and once had to leave without eating as relays in taking my order and bringing it were so long, and I still paid for the meal. Sure staff was friendly. But something is wrong at the plaza
The Plaza was a perfect choice for my short visit to NYC in the end of August. Rich in character, almost overwhelming with its historic splendor and significance, hotel offers outstanding levels of comfort for every kind of traveler. Amazing location allowed an easy access to all significant sites of Manhattan or beyond, wile the Central Park, across the road, was a welcoming oasis for when the brake from city's buzz was needed. Thank you very much to the hotel's team for hospitality. Can't wait to be back!
Oh my, what a pleasant surprise! I asked my phone to tell me where the nearest pizza store was and it directed is to the Plaza Mall! This is a glorified food court and what an experience! From a caviar bar to a yogurt bar will toppings you cannot count the number of delicious offerings. Desserts, sandwiches, soup, crepes, you name it and they probably make it. We got our pizza, delicious very thin crust served hot.We also found some doggy treats to take home to our favorite grandpup! When you are tired from trekking around Central Park, head across the street to the Plaza Mall you will be glad you did!
We are so glad we stayed here! The rooms were really comfortable and the bathrooms were all huge! The location was really convenient for shopping and sightseeing, and early morning bike rides around Central Park are just across the road. We didn't have breakfast included at the hotel because we wanted to experience diner breakfasts over our short stay in the city- I would recommend doing so. This place is so worth the money, and having the food hall in the hotel is super convenient too.
This was our third New York trip, combination of business and pleasure. We spent whole weekend at The Plaza and it was fantastic in every sense. The room with luxurious bedding and bathroom are gorgeous. Service was impeccable, food and drinks were fantastic and everyone at the concierge's desk was incredibly helpful and personalized. This hotel was the most unbelievable beautiful hotel we ever stayed at in New York. The Plaza experience is worth every penny and is highly recommended, specifically for those who enjoy spending time in the hotel and perhaps are repeat visitors to New York. A real fairytale of New York experience and we hope that one day we'll have the opportunity to experience it again!
