Warwick New York Hotel
- What's Included
This was my first time staying at the Warwick, and I found this to be among the best locations in NYC -- just around the block from the Museum of Modern Art, blocks from Rockefeller Center and Central Park, and a short walk to the theater district. The hotel's staff were friendly, rooms nice and larger than many in such a prime location. The only thing that really should be better is a need for more electrical outlets. I understand that this is a property built in 1926, but you need to have accessible outlets, including on a nightstand (standard for charging phones and other devices, CPAP machines, etc.). Even if you don't have them in the wall, you can have lamps with 1-2 outlets in the base -- it's standard issue in most nice hotels today. One final comment was that we had the curve ball of waking up at 1:30 AM to the sound of water dripping, and I found that our bathroom had an inch of water on the floor and water leaking through the ceiling from the bathroom above (where the guests had apparently left the tub running...). Kind of a disaster, but the staff immediately moved us out and into a beautiful suite within 10 minutes. It was a pain to deal with at that hour, but the hotel staff couldn't help that, and the unsolicited upgrade was so nice it will be hard to go back to a regular room ever again. Likely the nicest room we'll ever experience in NYC. At least we enjoyed it for a couple of nights before leaving.
Wonderful visit to the Warwick. Jahmal at thefront desk was great as was Carlos who broughtour luggage to the room. Very clean rooms. The bar Randolphs was a nice place every evening for a drink and appetizers.Looking forward to returning soon!
Given all of the mediocre reviews of many Midtown hotels, we weren't expecting much. However at our first arrival, we began to feel that things were quite different for the better. Receiving staff was immediately helping us with valet parking and baggage, well dressed and friendly. The lobby was busy but efficient and elegant. Our room was beautiful and every aspect from lighting to bathroom layout was designed with convenience of the guest in mind. Location in midtown was excellent. We had walking access to Times Square and Central Park ,hundreds of restaurants and the MoMA is right across the street. This 4 star hotel has the classic elegance of the past while provding (except for free internet, the only downside) everything expected of a 4-star hotel.
Let me start out by saying the staff are very pleasant and helpful. I was required to stay there for a business trip and the hotel is not for the business traveler in my opinion, i.e. no amenities like complimentary coffee or water. The rooms are fine and comfortable, but there is not much more I can say about this place. I noticed a $25 facility fee on my bill and when I inquired at checkout what it was for I was told that it was to use the gym and for the wifi among other things; so I was charged for free wifi and a gym I did not get an opportunity to use. I will not stay here again unless my job requires me to do so.
The hotel was up to expectations. Rooms slightly larger than usual in New York. Breakfast was exellent quality but expensive. Staff attitude could be improved at reception as well as concierge. Otherwise overall a nice hotel to stay when in New York!z
