Warwick New York Hotel
- What's Included
We had a great stay at the Warwick in Summer of 2017. It's a great location. Close to Central Park, theaters, and subway lines. Our room was very big, by New York standards. My biggest complaint was the resort fee. I don't think I should have to pay a daily resort fee for WIFI, phone use, and access to a computer. Those amenities, do not, in my opinion, constitute a "resort". The stay was pleasant, though, and I would stay at the Warwick again.
We stayed on the 31st floor, high above NYC. The view was great; the accommodations were awesome; and the service was top-notch. I was referred to this hotel by a friend. Now I'm spoiled. If/when we're able to come back to NYC, my wife and I will make it a point to stay at this location. We got a great feel for the city and were close to almost EVERYTHING. We averaged walking 6 miles a day during our stay. And the proximity to Times Square and Central Park - perfect! They made our business/Christmas vacation one of our best.
The Warwick is a throwback to an older time, no polished chrome or pulsating led lighting here. The hotel is well placed for attractions like the Rockefeller Plaza, Times Square, Hells Kitchen and Central Park. The bar has a nice atmosphere and seems to do well with walk in customers. The breakfasts are well presented and you have a choice of buffet or a’la carte.I’d stay here again if I were back in Manhattan.
We loved it here. Excellent value for money. We booked a suite, it was exactly as described. Very comfortable and well appointed. The hotel is in Mid Town so the noise from the traffic , especially the sirens does filter through at times, but we still slept well.Randolph's bar is lively, and very friendly... great colleagues that really go out if their way to help, and a very nice snack menu. Top Tips. 1 If your room is on a lower level, call the elevator both up and down and get in the first one, it can be a while otherwise to find a space in the busy elevators.Top Tips 2. The concierge service is Super, Robert organised everything for us, from transport, restaurants, helicopter flights, top bar bookings etc etc. Nothing was too much trouble. ( thank you Robert, you are a star)Top Tips 3Do not, under any circumstance get a yellow cab. They are smelly and filthy, a massive hygiene risk, bodily fluid was an extra in every cab ... horrible... we thought we were unlucky, then realised it was standard.. get a car booked via concierge it's easy, comfortable and safe... oh and clean! And you only pay on checkout.Enjoy your stay in this wonderful hotel.
I have stayed here before and after not having visited NYC for many years, though it would be nice to try it again. It was one of the lowest rates for my visit so we booked a double room for three nights. Given the price, I thought the room would be very small but we were very pleasantly surprised with the king bed, seating area, and closet. The bath was small but suitable and very clean. We arrived early so it wasn't quite ready so we had a small lunch in Randolph's bar. That was fine for our purposes and for drinks it would be better but I seem to remember that the Warwick bar in years past was more classic NY. At any rate, the location of the hotel is great, and the door-people are fantastic about finding taxis at busy times. Housekeeping service was thorough although on one day it wasn't made up till late afternoon. Interesting note is that Cary Grant, the Beatles, Elvis Presley, Audrey Hepburn, James Dean, and other luminaries stayed here over the years and there is a photo gallery that you should check out. I didn't look at the fitness room but there is one.
