Warwick New York Hotel
- What's Included
We spent four nights at the Warwick whilst preparing for a performance at Carnegie Hall. The Warwick was within walking distance of our rehearsal hall and Carnegie and was much nicer than some of the hotels where my fellow artists stayed. Our room was by far the nicest and largest we’ve stayed in when in New York and by booking early the price wasn’t much greater. Not only is it across the street from MOMA, it is easily within walking distance of Radio City Music Hall, Central Park, the theatre district and a couple of subway stops. We didn’t eat at the hotel but found several nice restaurants, delies, bakeries and bistros of varying qualities within a three block radius.
We stayed here for 4 nights. Great location and decent size room for NYC. Majority of the staff were most helpful and pleasant bar one bellboy who INSISTED I carried all 5 bags over to their back room. Room and general hotel was reasonably clean. The shower is not what one would expect in a luxury hotel. There is no mirror beside the plugs and dressing table and made it very awkward for two ladies getting done up in a room together. Better value & options elsewhere..
We've been coming to The Warwick since the early 1990s. My husband and I booked The Warwick for our wedding anniversary. Ours was a three night stay and upon check in our room had been upgraded to a huge one overlooking Sixth Avenue, #1419.We had a wonderful surprise delivered to our room shortly after check-in: a chilled bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries with the words "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate on the plate...what a treat! And the berries were scrumptious! Our room was in a quiet area despite the elevator bank being close by. We never heard a word outside of our door. Spotless, very comfortable bed with crisp linens. A curiosity was the separate wet bar area -- the bar sink worked fine but beneath it was an empty framed in space for a refrigerator ...anyway, it looked to be a project underway and didn't bother us. There is a fully stocked refrigerator in a cabinet beneath the TV screen...we never use those but it is a quality feature for snacks, soft drinks, etc. The shower in our bathroom had such powerful water pressure and instant hot water that one does not want to leave...it's a welcome respite from the chilly air outside. Housekeeping was prompt in the mornings but one day we came back to our room to discover a floor lamp had been knocked over and the bulb & wiring askew, lampshade on the floor. We knew not to use it (I unplugged it) and it stayed that way for the whole time we were in the hotel. The rest of the room's lighting was sufficient... One afternoon we stopped into the wonderful bar for a drink, as is our custom. Bartender Frank will take very good care of you! The Warwick is in such a convenient location that one can walk to most midtown attractions. We were ambitious after Sunday breakfast at the Second Avenue Deli (at 33rd.) and walked the whole way back, a 30-25 minute stroll. Connolly's Irish Pub is steps away from the hotel; we highly recommend it for the excellent food, drinks and atmosphere. The Warwick remains a place of class and character.
Hotel is in a great location across the street from the Museum of Modern Art, and Central Park and the theater district easily walkable. Nice staff and a great home base to see New York as a tourist. We have enjoyed several stays there
If you hate cookie-cutter chain hotels and are looking for a perfect spot from which to explore NYC, you will not go wrong with the Warwick. The room was well appointed. The breakfast was ample. The hotel has old world charm and yet, is perfectly maintained.
