Warwick New York Hotel
- What's Included
The Warwick is an excellent choice for a very nice hotel in a central Midtown location. Room rates are in line with other "moderately" priced NYC hotels. Walking distance to many attractions, a short walk to Central Park, MOMA, restaurants and shopping. etc. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious by NYC standards. We will stay here again.
I chose the Warwick because of its central location. It was certainly well placed and we were able to walk to most of the attractions we wanted to go to. There were also lots of cafes/ restaurants in the area. The hotel was reasonably expensive and the bar was also expensive. We didn't eat at their restaurant but it also looked expensive. Our room was very good - large and comfortable. The bed was great. The front of the house staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Not sure if we would stay there again as there would be properties that provided better value but as first timers in New York we were prepared to sacrifice value for convenience.
From the time I was able to watch television, I have always wanted to see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in person, but being a person of high eclectic tastes, there was a special way I wanted to view it. There was always the time honored tradition at my house to wake up Thanksgiving morning, bake a pan of fresh cinnamon rolls or orange rolls, and watch the parade together--my sister and me. But it was my dream when I grew up to watch the parade--full view--from my window at the Warwick Hotel. And when my sister passed away in August, I knew it was time to realize that dream. With the help of the reservation staff at the Warwick, I was able to get my room with a full view of sixth Avenue, and share my childhood dream with my granddaughter Keaton, while my husband and my daughter actually went down into the crowd. It was fabulous--and the Warwick Hotel provided gifts of chocolate covered strawberries, milk chocolate turkeys and a beautiful blanket to keep warm just in case I changed my mind! The staff was courteous and friendly, the Saturday brunch at Murals on 54th good, but most of all, the realization of a childhood dream--priceless.
LocationThe location of the hotel is very good in the heart of midtown close to everywhere.ReceptionThe reception people and everyone else were very pleasant and helpful.I asked for a refrigerator in the room and they brought it immediately for a onetime cost of 25$ (we were there for a week so it was worth it).I asked in my reservation a high room away from the elevator and got exactly that.Room We (my daughter and I) reserved a Premier Plus Double/Double.Mind you that only the Plus rooms are facing the street\avenue. We had a lovely view of the 6th avenueThe room was classically decorated, spacy - very good size for NY rooms. It was clean, the beds were very comfortable and so was the bathroom although it was on the small side. The room although not luxurious, had a very nice atmosphere and it was simply very enjoyable. WIFIThere is free wifi if you register as a club member (for free). The connection was very good.We enjoyed our stay at the Warwick very much and will certainly come back/
We had 4 rooms in the hotel for 4 of us on a business trip. We landed late so only checked in at 11:45pm. On checking in they told us there would be no water in the hotel from midnight to 6:00am. We joked and asked if there would be a discount and the staff sternly said no, but that we could have two free bottles of water. I raced to my room to grab and quick shower before midnight and we all met for a drink in the bar at midnight. The bar is fantastic and at this time with the Christmas lights it is like a scene from a movie. Great bar but unfortunately last orders were at 12:15 and bar was closed by 12:30. The bar staff were super friendly and we tipped well. My room was super clean but cold. The air conditioner was on so I flipped the heater on but this did not make the room warmer. I like my room a little cool while I sleep, but I actually had to use the extra blanket and the bedding from the second bed to stay warm. My bathroom was clean and the shower worked well despite the faucet being a bit grim. But my colleague pulled back the shower curtain to find 3 cockroaches. He took pictures of two and one scuttled down the drain. At checkin I asked what time the gym was open. 24/7 was the indignant response. But it was locked at 5:30am when I tried to go. I went to reception and they told me to wait until 6:00am and then my card would work. It was strange, as I kept trying until 6:00am when it let me in, but there was already someone in there!? The water was not off for the entire time they had given, as there was water when I woke up before going to exercise. Great location and hotel, a slight attitude adjustment at checkin would go a long way. And please get rid of the roaches.
