Warwick New York Hotel
- What's Included
We planned a trip to Bear Mountain to hike and check out the fall colors. Really beautiful if you have not done it yet you should....after few days we wanted to head into NYC for some fun. Wound up booking at the Warwick, really glad we did! The staff was super friendly and very professional! Room was clean and well appointed. Great location in mid town. Definitely will return!!
I traveled to NYC for a conference in mid town and stayed at the Warwick. Overall it was just a good stay. The rooms were nice - it is an older hotel, so the rooms were a good size, very clean, but with slightly older amenities. The staff was pleasant, but not overly helpful. The breakfast that was included left a lot to be desired (two pastries from a crammed pastry shelf and coffee). Overall I would recommend to someone looking for good value, wanting to stay in NYC and looking for something slightly more charming than one of the chain hotels that can be found in the area.
I booked this hotel because of location for a girls weekend and it did not disappoint. Rooms are spacious with an old world flair. Nice walk in closet to store your things out of site. Comfortable beds and quiet hallways. The doormen and porters were especially nice. At this location you are a short walk to Central Park, subways,5th Ave shopping and Broadway. If you like a hotel with some character the Warwick will not disappoint.
Writing from the perspective of a business traveler: it's better here than most NYC hotels. You'll be left alone for the most part, it's quiet, rooms are large, and there's a business center. It's close to two major subway stops including the all important E train for airport access. Wifi is 'free' (not really) but fast. There are some drawbacks. I was most annoyed by the $40 daily facility fee (25 plus tax). As a business traveler, this can really screw up expense reports. The bathroom is tiny but serviceable. The rooms are old and there are some obvious maintenance needs - rust stains from water in the bathrooms and curtain ties falling out of the wall. All things considered, I'd stay here again if I had the opportunity.
As CEO of a mobile operator we know that service is the most challenging task as well rewarding when recognized by the customers. My wife and my son made a bonding program in Gotham, and the Warwick look great. The bad experience started with the check-in , almost unpolite treatment.Unfortunately the surprises did not stop in there. One day my wife put the sign "do not disturb" , knowing for sure what to expect when you do it as an experienced traveller.Next day the sign was turned clearly on the opposite side, in order to allow the housekeeping service. After two entire days without service, when she asked for housekeeping, the employee just said "you made a mistake not removing the sign" and my wife said "we turned it so the sign was removed"The result was an unpolite answer and a dirty room.To be fair the unique positive attitude came from the concierge that spoke with the manager but the reception argued again with my wife, that did not reply in the same degree of lack of education, because one error does not justify other. We know that maybe we will have the standard protocolar answer from the Warwick, but what we would like is to register to the travellers that inadequate service not in the same level of the location and accomodation.Hope will be instrumental to review the procedures.BestYon on behalf of Marisa and Eduardo.
