Bahama Bay Resort
- What's Included
2nd time stopping at Bahama bay and even more enjoyable than the first the condominium is equipped with everything you could need it has a laid back atmosphere is only 15-25 minutes from Disney parks 30-35 from sea world and universal, staff really pleasant accommodation is roomy and on the plus side with a 10 minute drive are multiple restaurants from Applebee's, Denny's, longhorn steakhouse, Outback Steakhouse, mc d's, Burger King, Olive Garden, beef o Brady's, and plenty more this should be your option for a great stay in Florida, we'll definitely be back soon.
We had a wonderful stay at this condo. We stayed for 3 nights while visiting Disney. It is located about 15 minutes from the parks but the area is such a nice change from the busy international drive madness. The condo has 2 bedrooms with king beds and another room with 2 twin beds. Having 2 bathrooms was great as we were in a group of 4 adults. Staying at a hotel can be uncomfortable and expensive. This was such a nice change. The development is so pretty and peaceful. There are 4 pools, lovely beach, lakes and a playground and splashpad for those with children. The condo had all the essentials for cooking etc. A nice screen porch allowed us to open the doors. There is a restaurant on site and a spa. The community is safe and gated which was great. The owners could not have been easier to deal with. Every question we had they responded immediately. We will definitely return next year.
This facility is not for everyone as it is set off the ''party'' track of downtown Orlando. However, if you are a young family with a couple of children or just a couple seeking a nice place to come home to after a hectic day at one of the many attractions around the area, then this is the place. The staff is always ready to help and make your stay pleasant. We have just spent two fantastic weeks here at the Bahama in our two bedroom condo and it has been a joy. Yes there have been a couple of little critters found, but hey this is Florida. What do you expect? You could always go to Canada where the bugs freeze in winter!Everything we needed was in the condo. All we did was a tour of the local grocery store and we were ready to go.The only negatives in our case, was the lack of any view mainly because of the numerous trees, but that is trivial for us. Secondly, we must tell the landlord it really is time to splurge on a new sofa....the one you have is begging for mercy. So all in all, we highly recommend the Bahama if ever you come to the Orlando area. Thanks to all their staff for a great time!
Pleasant. Good sized condo. 3 bdrm. Good pool and restaurant on site. Man made beach. Quiet area 15 minutes away from the busy corridor. Unusually warm weather the 80's made it really good. Not very much to do or very many places to eat in the immediate area.
We were here for 2 weeks over Christmas. This place is super! Just 20 minutes to Disney by car, so perfectly located, Our condo was beautiful! We got a two bedroom deluxe - one king-size (huge bedroom and gorgeous bathroom) and the other with two singles and en suite. Lovely well-equipped kitchen, lounge, conservatory and laundry room. Cannot fault it (and I'm reeeeally picky!) apart from the fact that the sound-proofing between floors wasn't great. We heard everything, and I mean everything! from the family (aka herd of elephants) upstairs. Apart from that, the condo was spotlessly clean and we were thrilled with it!So pleased we booked this place and didn't go to a private villa with a pool as these were much further out.The complex has swimming pools. We were close to the beach pool and bar which was handy. Table pool and table tennis, jacuzzis and (ugh!) karoake some nights but some folks like that kinda thing I guess. As the temperature soared to 28 degrees some days, we needed some down time from the Disney parks. You can hire (free) DVDs at the reception and they have a great choice. The on-site shop is expensive (and rarely open) so make sure you stop off on the way from the airport to get your emergency supplies if you have a late night arrival.Walmart is about 10 minutes away and good but folks from the UK will note how expensive things are with the weak pound against the dollar. We were really shocked at the prices. The only really cheap thing is petrol so be warned. Taxes are on top of everything and tips (15%) too when dining out. We did cook at the condo as we soon tired of the sweet, greasy diner foods and began to crave healthier things - even the children! Eating out isn't cheap (a bottle of wine is about £30! and a McD's meal for 4 was 28 dollars! - just to give you an idea) and Disney is rip-off city - but we all know that so don't be silly and pay 3 dollars for a bottle of water when you can take in your own for a fraction of the price. You only pay for Disney car-park once a day. It's 20 dollars to park but you can move from one park to the another with paying again. That said, the monorail and transport system between parks is great (and free). We picked the Disney 14 day pass and that was more than enough to do. We know some folks tried to do Universal too and found they were under too much pressure to do everything. With the 4 Disney parks, 2 x crazy golf (Winter wonderland is fab!) and the two water parks - excellent (get there really early as it'll be empty), you'll be bushed by the end of it. Make sure you use the fast-pass online or get it as an app and book your rides. The 'photopass' was also brilliant and well worth the money (ours came free with the 14 day deal) - there are Disney photographers everywhere who'll take your family pics, including those with all the Disney characters and then send them to you.We had a super time and were thrilled with Bahama Bay. Go for it. Enjoy!
