Bahama Bay Resort
- What's Included
Stayed here for a week during our sons spring baseball training. His entire team stayed at this resort as did most of the parents who came. The resort is very large and had several walking paths which I really liked. They had at least 4 pools, 2 smaller ones by several condo units and a large one by the front check in and a tropical one with palm trees, bar/grill services, hot tub, volleyball, on a lake setting but very much tropical. We stayed by this pool a lot. Our room was nice. We had a two bedroom/2 bath. Clean and very well lit and bright inside. There could have been a few updates such as furniture and a fix to a small hole in the kitchen but will definitely stay here again and recommend this resort to anyone. We had a great time!
Arrived late had called to let them know. Great customer service. Our place was fantastic! Our dryer broke and they dried, returned my clothes and fixed the dryer. Great customer service always friendly around property. Our place was stocked well and all the necessities we needed. I would try to ask for a gold or platinum rated unit. We were here for a baseball spring break trip and it was packed. Close to everything yet not in Disney.
This was my fourth and last stay at this resort. The rooms and grounds are beautiful. The bar and restaurant are horrible, four years in a row. So why stay? The quick answer is college baseball and being close to your player. The first day of my last trip I went to the bar to order a drink. The female bartender had 3 customers at the bar, she was engaged with them in conversation for 15 minutes as I stood at the bar with a $20 in my hand. I walked away at the 17 minute mark. I'm not happy, so I send my player up to the bar with that same $20, he came back after 10 minutes of being ignored. As I am walking out, the Mgr. asks me how everything was. I tell him and he does the right thing, he comps the drinks. I figure what the heck, I'm on vacation, lets have the drinks. The Mgr. then sends out a female server with menus and asks us if we will be eating. I respond yes and she replies she will be back, she never came back. After 30 minutes of empty drinks and no sign of the waitress, we walk out again. As I am leaving the Mgr. asks me how everything went. He shouldn't have asked, I am very direct. I told him that I was going to ring his register all week but now I am going to the Publix for alcohol and cups. The puzzling thing to me was that there was more staff than customers early in the afternoon on a Sunday. The last night of the trip my wife wanted a drink by the pool. Against my better judgement I agreed. We sat at a table by the pool that was set up for food service. There was one other table besides us that was imbibing. The waitress walked by us 7 times in a 30 minute period without a glance, we left. I would start by firing the Manager, then the blonde female bartender. Both were really nice people, just grossly incompetent. The whole point of a bar is rings per hour, how Wyndam hasn't figured this out is a mystery. I do have a solution, hire me and I will out pour your staff at a 10 to 1 margin with twice the personality and 300 percent more effort. It was really disappointing.
Had a wonderful stay condo was very roomy and the kids each had their own room The only draw back was the appliances were dated. Wish we could of spent more time in the room, but we spent are days at Disney.
I have stayed at Bahama Bay 4 out the past 6 years and I have never had a bad experience. Some rooms have been nicer than others but over all very good. The staff keeps the grounds looking great year round. It is a very relaxed atmosphere I am going back this year
