Bahama Bay Resort
- What's Included
I stayed 4 nights at Bahama bay rentals. We had the two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The rental was very nice and clean. We enjoyed the pool and the free DVD rentals every night the kids got a movie to watch. Down the street was a Walmart and gas station also the highway that leads to Disney World. This a great spot for families with kids.
Back from here on Sunday after a very enjoyable 2 weeks. We stayed in the 3 bedroom Gran Bahama condo which was fabulous - had a view of the Lake (or pond as it is described on the map!). . We were just a very short stroll to Tradewinds and the pool behind Tradewinds. The pool and spa pools were fantastic - very quiet first thing (7am/8am) - and a great tonic before hitting the theme parks. Plenty sun beds and umbrellas. A short stroll took you down to the man made beach and a lovely pier with a fabulous view. Short distance to Publix and Super Target. I thought the distance to Disney was reasonable. We had a couple of reasons to phone the front desk to deal with minor issues - these issues were dealt with promptly and politely. Would definitely return here. And indeed we hope to in 2019!
Spent 3 weeks here with my young family. We booked direct with the owner and had no problems with check in when we arrived everything was straight forward. We had a 2 bedroom condo and it had everything needed to make our stay comfortable. The pools are fantastic and remain open late into the evening which is great when returning from the parksThe complex itself is set in beautiful gardens and is located far enough away from the parks for that well needed R and R
We stayed here as a family of 6 with 3 adults and 3 kids and we couldn't have been happier with the choice. We booked in for 10 days following a few days staying at universal Hard Rock and we loved every minute The resort is just 20 minutes from all the main parks and attractions and has loads of restaurants really close just off the highways so you don't spend loads of time stuck in traffic. The resort has good security at the gate which makes it feel really secure and you can choose from loads of different apartments on 1st , 2nd or 3Rd floors and we stayed in the middle and we could here noise from above (I'm sure below could here us as well) but it wasn't too much of an issue. The resort is really clean and well kept and has some lovely lakes to walk or run around. There are loads of pools to choose from and one of themIs situated just by the Davenport lake where you can walk out to and enjoy the views. We only ate at one of the restaurants while we were there for a quick lunch and it was decent.we chose an apartment with 3 double rooms with one of them having an en-suit and it was large and specious and clean which is all we wanted . Yes the decor was slightly dated but that's florida for you and you don't really spend too much time in the rooms anyway.Having stayed in a Villa previously with Virgin we thought that apartments at this resort were a much better choice as you have better security, more choice of pools and a bit more going on and weWould definitely recommend and return again.Great time!!!!
We stayed from the 22nd July till the 5th august. In a 3 bedroom apartment on the Ground floor.Pros; The complex itself was beautiful, lovely scenery and wildlife. The room itself was lovely and big, we requested a ground floor room as I am in a wheelchair. We had a double walk in shower. Everything was very clean. Although the complex was out of the way it was only a short drive to everything. All the staff we had come across including just passing the grounds keepers were always so polite and always said good morning. The spa is worth a visit and is very reasonably priced, half hour full body massage worked out around £45 not including tip. The women that worked in there were so lovely and polite. We never had any bugs and the bugs that did manage to get in the front door always died as soon as they got in. We even had K-9 pest control search whilst we were there. There is free tea and coffee making facility's in the reception which we found a really nice touch, you could get them in to go cups. With all kinds of different flavoured teas.Cons; The restaurant and bar at Tradewinds were lovely but they added a 16% surcharge on everything including just asking for two colas, we found this abit annoying so chose to not spend our time here. The "app" that they advertise and on the leaflets that they give you on checking in state that breakfast at Tradewinds is friday-sunday 8am-11am and that its an all you can eat. This was not the case, it was 8am-10:30am every day and was not an all you can eat. I asked what the assorted cereals were on the menu to be told they don't actually sell cereal anymore?By our pool you would be laying then and end up covered in ants which although isn't a huge problem it became quite annoying having to constantly flick them off. There are no lifts so being on the ground floor we could hear the people quite loudly above us, jumping around and even got a bit embarrassing when we starting hearing the bed rocking.... We were never told this but you can get free toilet paper and essentials at reception too if you run out. The only other con was that all though you are always busy in Orlando there wasn't anything nearby to walk too for the evening. All in all we really enjoyed our stay just as shame about a few things. But we would recommend Bahama Bay too our family and friends.
