Caribe Royale Orlando
- What's Included
'Ello chaps!Caribe Royal Orlando is a moderate-end Orlando area Resort, loaded with the amenities of any great Florida resort. Large pool area, plenty of space to lounge around, and several on site restaurants. More important, it has a great location to the area's major theme parks. It is located near International Drive, but not THAT part of International Drive. Caribe Royal Orlando is about a ten minute drive to Disney Springs, and 20 minute drive to Disney theme parks, Sea World Orlando, and Universal Orlando resort. Great, friendly service at this resort with a great value. Do know, like most Orlando area resorts, there are added fees for "resort fees" and "parking fees" so do look at total price closely.
The previous reviews about the property and common areas are pretty spot on. However, my room was a mess. As photos show, the bathroom wall had dried soap splatters and there was a weird blue splash of what appeared to be mouthwash on the wall by the mirror. Huge spill on the wall and I have no idea what that was. Chair in sitting area literally coming apart. Would not recommend this place.
This hotel was the perfect place for our family as we evacuated from south Florida due to a hurricane. We loved the kiddie pool and playground as well as the main pool, slide, waterfall, and hot tub. The room is a bit small but it helped to have a separate living room with a 2nd TV. We got a great rate and, thankfully, the hotel had power the whole 5 nights of our stay.Employees were very nice, for the most part, even though they had to work during the storm. Can highly recommend this hotel.
Our cruise line booked us into this hotel. It was a Saturday evening in late August and the hotel was mostly empty. It appeared that two of the three towers were idled. I think we would have enjoyed a smaller more compact hotel better. We were tired from our trans continental journey so we opted to eat in our room. We couldn't find anything we wanted to eat at a reasonable price on the room service menu, so I went down to the deli and brought back some rather tasty sandwiches. Breakfast in the morning was fine. We ate from the menu and the check came to $60 with tip. I would recommend staying away from the buffet on slow mornings.
Where do I start ......When we we first came to the hotel on the 4th September we were greeted by staff members with a lovely smile. They sorted our villa out and off we went in a golf cart to the villas. We were in number 6 block. The villas are dated I must admit and the cleanliness wasn't up to my standard. (I am however a clean freak when it comes to hotels). We settled in straight away and I couldn't wait to climb into the bed in the master bedroom. It was like sleeping on marshmallows. The bed swallowed you up and made you feel comfortable. I also had a bath in the jacuzzi on the first night and it was lovely! There is a deli shop in the main hotel area that was perfect for a snack after a long flight. The salad bar is lovely and they do the best Panini's.On the second day we turned the tv on to see that a hurricane was coming this way. We didn't think much about it as this point as nothing had been mentioned by hotel staff. So the holiday and days at the Disney parks continued. The shuttle bus from the hotel to the parks only runs 3 times a day. In the end we used taxis instead of the bus so that we go and leave whenever we wanted to. The Caribe seem to have their own taxi drivers and all of them are lovely! On the Saturday it was clear that the hotel was getting ready for hurricane Irma. Sandbags were being delivered and cabana's were being taken down. Workmen were starting to arrive at the hotel in their trucks and the car park was quickly filling up with resident's from the south of Florida. The hurricane hit us on Sunday night and Monday morning. On the Sunday we had a curfew put on so that we all had to be in our rooms by 7pm. The hotel gave us a letter with instructions on what to do if the power was to go out or if the worst was to happen. It was clear on Monday morning that the hotel has been battered. Roof tiles were all over the floor and drain pipes hanging of the buildings. A few trees had come down but not too many. As soon as the curfew was lifted on the Monday hotel staff started straight away tidying up and putting everything back. Even hotel guests were helping. By Tuesday everthing was tidy and back to normal.I can't thank the hotel staff enough for making us feel so safe and for lifting everyone's spirit who was affected by the hurricane. There was always plenty of food and drinks available and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. All in all..........The hotel is amazing, serves lovely food and the best breakfast buffet ever! The villa pool is lovely and the main pool looks like fun for the children.I would defiantly recommend eating at the Italian restaurant next door in the Buena Vista Suites. The attended photo is a bottle of wine we had which was delicious with fish.Again thank you to all the staff for their hard work and for making us feel so safe in a scary time.
