Myself and my wife stayed here on our honeymoon to Orlando, and the experience was 5* all around. Amazing rooms, beautiful food, and lovely and helpful staff. The staff were so helpful, they even helped to post back to the UK something my wife forgot in the room before we left! Overall, if you want to visit Disneyworld / International Drive, this is the place to stay!
We recently stayed at this hotel while visiting Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando. This is a big hotel with nice suites. Beds are very comfortable and clean. The room is very spacious, it has a sitting area with a sofa bed, desk, tv, fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Nice pool area with entertainment as well as a grill bar, cafe, and restaurants within the facility. We will definitely stay here again.
We booked to stay here for two weeks for our honeymoon - the deal on Expedia looked almost too good to be true, but after some research (admittedly not enough on my part), and the very inviting pictures posted by the resort, we decided to go ahead and book.Moans:I notified the hotel months before our arrival that we would be honeymooners and asked if there was anything they could offer us?I received a short and unwelcoming email reply back, detailing a list of chargeable upgrades and room additions. Nothing was offered complimentary - no big deal but the Hilton at Gatwick upgraded our room and left some cute cupcakes for us for the one night we stayed with them prior to our flight out.Upon arrival, the $198 resort fee increased to $300 (even with sales tax, this was a big hike) - so tired from a days travelling, we accepted the charge but later bought this up to management who did refund $100 of it.The 'resort fee' really is money for old rope. Management will tell you it covers the cost of the wifi network they so very kindly provide (what place worth its note doesn't provide its guests with inclusive wifi in 2016?!).Also you can only connect 1 device per guest at any one time- useless if you have iPads and laptops as well.After complaining about several issues to management on day 12 of our 14 day break, we were offered a complimentary upgrade to include another 2 devices but declined as we had managed ok until then.The resort fee apparently includes shuttle buses to Disney; although we had hired a car for our trip, we were still expected to pay up whether we used them or not.We tried our luck one day and waited until the scheduled bus was more than 45minutes late... we had lunch reservations at Disney so decided to catch an uber instead.When I asked where the bus was, the front of house operative shrugged his shoulders and told me they don't get involved with bus running times.The pool side bar charges in excess of $9 for a below par cocktail, the same prices found at Disney springs and their cocktails are worth the $9!The air conditioning in the room seemed to worsen as our holiday went on, until on the final night it gave up completely.The main lobby is quite impressive upon arrival, but DONT BE FOOLED!The rooms themselves are outdated, our room smelt musty and 'old' when we first arrived.The decor is really outdated (the hotel celebrated 20yrs whilst we were there and it's clear the rooms have not seen a lick of paint or new fixtures and fittings during this time).The hotel will also pre-authorise $400 (yes, $400!) on your credit card to cover 'incidentals'. Although this is not taken by the hotel until check out (if you make charges to the room), this amount of money remains held and non accessible on your card throughout the duration of your holiday.$17.00 + tax to watch a movie in your room!$25 to hire a shaded cabana by the pool!Don't be sucked in by the Wyndham reps on the Expedia desk in reception.There are no signs advertising they are prt of a time share group and they are dressed like the hotel front of house staff - they'll offer you $100 to participate in a 90min tour around a new resort for market research purposes.They rush you through the paperwork.Once you're at the resort, you're thrown into a high pressure sales pitch for a time share/vacation ownership programme with Wyndham.There is no market research and the entire process becomes extremely uncomfortable when the sales person gets the hump when he realises you are never going to hand over $13,000 to him.We told the hotel management that the Wyndham reps had mislead us, he agreed this was not acceptable and would have a Wyndham manager call me to discuss...that was three days ago and still no call.Requests to the front desk for a manager to call your room are ignored, I asked 3 times and didn't hear a thing back - I eventually went to the front desk to speak to the manager directly.He was attentive and made notes of the issues we raised but I'm not convinced 'customer experience' is valued at this hotel, it is a huge money spinner resort who will suck as much money from you as they can during your stay with them.Good bits:Bed and pillows are comfortable.Pool area is decentHouse keeping were good.Close proximity to Disney and not too far from universal.Good places to eat nearby.Pay a little extra and stay somewhere that values their guests.This is not a 4* hotel but it is a huge pink money making racket with a half decent pool.
I was there for business conference. I stayed in room 33451. Ugly property2. Run down Appearance3. Poor service4. Beds are soft and old. I should be able to charge them for my back problems now. Poor follow through when I asked for help5. Food and Restaurants below average 6. No sense of anyone trying to achieve excellence in customer service7. On site construction not well hidden. 8. Loud rooms. I could hear next rooms conversations9. Safe in room was broken10. Gross old carpet11. Bathrooms dingy. 12. Internet wifi was worthless. Bring your hot spot13. Generally place feels like 1981 but unfortunately you know it is 2016My conference was at the Marriott world. I just stayed there as long as possible in order to avoid this hotel until I had to sleep. But beds so bad, I got severe back ache and could not attend conference. Asked for someone to bring me and and I was told "call secuirty" for immediate assistance, no offer to transfer phone and I lay on their gross carpet. Interesting, when you are laying in the floor and start looking around, how dirty the carpet was and how much crap was under the bed and Sofas that cleaning staff missed from previous guest(s)!
The hotel was celebrating its 20th year.The hotel was fine, was it spotless? No but the beds were comfortable, the pool was good and the grandkids loved it. The restaurants were a bit pricey and the food wasn't to our liking.We had a great 7days there and would go back in a minute because it is central to Disney and restaurants everywhere.
