Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key
- What's Included
A lot of Marriotts could use an upgrade, and I'm glad this one is getting one. As of late November, construction is still going on but it was not a bother at all (and it does say on the Marriott site when you book that there will be construction until mid December). Rooms were not huge, but pretty nice. You walk in from the outside, you walk into a sitting room with a couch, fridge, sink and a TV. In the middle is a closer and a bathroom, and at the end is the bedroom. Pretty nice when you travel with kids on a beach vacation. There are blue neon lights on the front of the property. Not sure why some reviewers make a big deal about it. They DO NOT light up the room at night so it's difficult to sleep as some have stated. The bedroom is on the opposite side of the building. The only thing that may interrupt your sleep is the sun, if you forget to close the blinds. The bedroom faces the east and the sun can be bright very early in the morning. Great beaches near by. Great restaurants all around. Overall a great property.
I work for an autograph collection hotel that prides itself on a friendly and inviting staff. I was traveling with my brother and dad for a Bucs game over a long weekend. I was so thoroughly impressed with every staff member that we interacted with. They went out of their way whenever possible to make us feel at home. Lara at the front desk was the first encounter and she led the way for the rest of their team. Danielle(or Daniella?) served us drinks a couple times in the restaurant and showed a great sense of humor. There are countless anecdotes about this staff- my dad had several drinks in his hands to bring up to the room and the front desk staff ran over to push the elevator buttons for him, staff walked you to your destination versus just pointing or telling, etc. This was hospitality at its best!
Booked at this hotel for a relative's wedding. Even during the dust of some remodeling we had a wonderful experience. Service was fabulous and the Jolly Trolley stops right at the hotel door. Our bedroom over looked the Tampa Bay, with the sunrise coming up on the balcony side of the suite. The living area and kitchen area were on the sunset side of the suite. Everything was clean and neat the lobby was well kept, pool and outdoor with a small Tiki bar overlooked the bay. Dolphins swam right off the balcony in the morning. they also have a resident parrot named Lisa, who gets very verbal if you walk by and ignore her. We loved the suite concept very much.
My family and I travelled to Florida in August this year . One of the things we also did is we visited Clearwater . We stayed one night at this hotel . When you first walk in the hotel appears to be nice till you get to your room . This hotel needs a huge renovation . The rooms are small and they smell really bad . From the time that you walk in to the room your skin starts crawling from the room being dirty . Clearwater is beautiful including its beaches and the Dolphins . There is lots to do . I would really recommend that people stay away from this hotel . Beside the hotel there is a small breakfast place that I highly recommend .
Very impressed with the location, lovely pool, services and room. An excellent variety of food at the buffet breakfast. Would highly recommend. Thank you for making our 10th anniversary memorable...this surprise made it that extra bit special. 😉
