Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key
- What's Included
The hotel is very nice and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, spacious and had beautiful views of the bay and the beach. There's a shuttle that takes you to the beach in less than 5 minutes and the beach is beautiful and quiet (kudos to Michael, one of the drivers, who was very friendly and always had a big smile on, ready to help us whenever we needed). The only thing I wished I had known is that you can't really walk from there to downtown Clearwater. That said, it may be a good idea to have a car if you want to explore around (honeymoon Island is beautiful, for example)... or take the trolley or some cars that will pick you up and drop you off at places nearby for a tip.
What a great hotel/resort this was. Pulled up and instantly greeted by Wilmur who unloaded our baggage and brought it up to our room while providing some great information about the property and other helpful info. The first thing I noticed walking to our room was the amazing view from the front outside our room and then we got in our room and there was the amazing view of the bay from our patio. Big wow factor. The rooms were great. We had a king suite that had a separate seating area with a door separating the two rooms. This was great for us because we had a 15 month old who slept in the other room in a pack and play provided by the hotel which was a nice touch. One negative was the doors separating the rooms would close shut all the way for some reason but this was a minor inconvenience. The mini fridge in the room was great for storing our son's milk and other food. The pool was great. My wife and I are more beach people than pool people, especially when in Florida but we spent significant time at the pool because of how nice it was and the great service from the wait staff who would bring food and drinks pool side. There were plenty of umbrellas for shade as well which was nice due to how hot and sunny it was. There was a great splash pad and baby pool that our son loved. When we did go to the beach if was very easy to access and the hotel has a shuttle that will drop you off at the beach. We will definitely stay here again when visiting the Clearwater area.
Our family stayed at this hotel for five nights. We have children age 19,17,and 15. All of us had a wonderful experience. Rooms are perfect for families. The location and amenities was excellent. We will definitely return. Nicole from Cincinnati,Ohio
We stayed here a week after the hurricane , even before we arrived Mike called to make sure we knew the status of the property, he wanted to make sure we knew the pool was still closed. Arriving we were surprised the pool was opened. The two employees in charge of pool maintenance JD and Leo had worked very hard to open the pool and it looked great. Another person I must mention was Tyler working out in the tiki bar and pool area, not only was he friendly and kind to us, he made everyone feel welcomed. From the front desk to the housekeepers everyone was uber friendly. Another point, I was surprised at the condition of this property. Most hotels on the beach are dirty, sandy and looked used. This property would rival any property for the condition it is in. Great job on the management part. If you see my other reviews I am very honest. Yes this is a great place for an amazing stay.
My family spent a long weekend at The Marriott Sandkey for a wedding in Largo. Upon our arrival the newly painted exterior was noticed and looks very nice. The Bellmen and frontdesk staff were awesome. Wilmur was quite helpful in helping with our car and everyday needs. The front desk staff Debra, Laura, Michael M., and Jordan were also very friendly and certainly create a warm environment either when entering or leaving the property. Our room on the 9th floor was very clean. The rooms are spacious enough and comfortable. The only negatives we experienced were the mini fridge. It froze our food which was a bummer. The ice machine was also out of service. We had to go up a floor to fill up our ice buckets. Linda with housekeeping is terrific and really makes the guest feel at home. The view of the bay and ocean provided many beautiful morning sunrises and sunsets. I spent the majority of my time poolside and want to compliment Mildred for running a very effective staff. The staff from the young man who powered washed and cleaned and prepared the deck area to the pool servers Jason, Dan, and Kimmy were without a doubt fantastic and very accommodating and friendly to the guests. I would like to see some healthier food choices to order while sitting poolside. The Bistro was a nice experience as I'm a coffee lover. The staff was vey friendly!I was also very impressed with Asst. GM Savanah as she and her staff were preparing for hurricane Irma. Savanah dug in and led by example. As a guest the staff kept us informed and when we evacuated things went very smoothly. The Boardwalk has some nice shops and offers other restaraunts and coffee shops.I highly recommend The Marriot Sandkey and look forward to perhaps another visit in the Winter.
