Disney's Port Orleans Resort consists of two themed resorts, the French Quarter and Riverside. Intricate railings, cobblestone streets and courtyards of flowers capture the spirit and romance of New Orleans' French Quarter. Dine on Creole delicacies, plunge into Doubloon Lagoon with its fantastic water slide or relish the Mardi Gras atmosphere. Dazzling detail, bayou excitement and "all that jazz." At Riverside, be surrounded by the tranquility of the Louisiana Bayou as you enjoy the hospitality of a picturesque waterfront Resort hotel that embodies the traditions born of steamboat travel, formal garden parties, and mint juleps on the front porch.

Dying to go back!

Great value for price!Love Disney, newly obsessed and this hotel was awesome!Best part: Beignets and water-taxi transfer to Disney Springs (though didn't like that they at times asked us to fold the stroller, this is what made it pleasant to travel by water-taxi that we didn't have to take out two kids under two out of our double stroller). Loved the pool, great for the kids! Make sure you get the food package if staying on the Disney site, TOTALLY worth it!

Super happy with my hotel choice!

This was the first time our family has stayed in a Disney property, and I really had no idea which one to choose. This turned out to be a great place for us! It has a quaint New Orleans vibe- it’s really cool to walk the “streets” at night. The food court was good and the kids loved the big pool with the water slide. Everything was close so getting around was easy. You can hop right on a boat to Disney springs and take scenic walks along the river. The room was nice and clean, a tad outdated but it’s in renovations right now so should be even better soon! Thanks for a great stay!

Fabulous resort!

My family and I stayed here for the first time this past week. We were escaping the craziness of Mardi Gras in New Orleans and opted for this resort for a small taste of home. Right off the bat, the staff was friendly and helpful. People complaining about Bell Services are ridiculous. They will gladly get your bags for you, but we just carried our own stuff because we are capable human beings. Lol We loved the layout of the resort, lovely pool area for our son, and used the arcade several times during our visit. Clean doesn’t even begin to describe this place. It’s spotless and beautiful. At check-in they offered us a $50 gift card for not having housekeeping during our week stay. We thought that was an excellent incentive and took them up on it right away. We just had to call the front desk when we needed our trash picked up and towels replaced which they did right away. They actually cleaned our room once during our 6 night stay despite us signing the refusal so that was nice! Also, a huge plus to this particular resort is that the bus service is great. I’ve stayed at others that took much longer, so this one felt much more central to everything Disney. We thought it was well worth the money and loved our stay!

Happiest Place on Earth????

We needed to stay at Port Orleans French Quarter before moving on to another resort. Beautiful grounds and a very nice room. However, where things went wrong had to do with staff, perhaps untrained staff(?). Staying at a Disney Resort has some unusual 'perks', like with these magic bands that run everything. First off, the staff is like little Disney robots, they address you somewhat stiff and rudely, then the next sentence is the over the top, fake welcoming. There appears to be a perception by staff, that if you have booked a DW Resort, you're an expert in such. They could not, and would not make viable efforts to sync our credit card with our magic bands. That's a huge problem, especially if you dont even know what the bands do. There was ZERO explanation of what the magic bands did, or did not do, especially since our payment card was not synced. We also chose this hotel because we had just been on a cruise for a week and needed laundry facilities. When asking about laundry facilities, we were given directions to no where near laundromat and also not given any information about laundromat use. So, when we get to the laundromat, our little magic bands will not get us into the building. We were doing laundry during the time our room would be ready. After a few minutes of trying to key in, I went to the pool bar to use the phone for front desk. Oh hey, they forgot to tell us that you have to walk the quarter mile to your room and open your room with both magic bands to essentially wake up the bands so you can access other areas of resort. It's a lovely place. But staff is very uninformed. When asking about resort transportation, they simply tell you to walk out to bus stop and gather your own information. In my profession, I know that staff issues of this such begin at the top. Wake up folks. For the price we paid for the room, we expect more, so should you. In my rating, the grounds and room were 4-5 stars, the staffing problem reduced it to average, and that I feel is a stretch. FYI...when we got to our other DW Resort, we were given a full apology for our plight at Port Orleans, and they were full of information that sure would have been helpful the night previous.

Amazing Disney Weekend

We spend a long weekend at the French Quarter. First time staying there, and boy was it fun. The grounds are big but can be conquered if you learn the positioning of the buildings. Besides that, we had a great experience overall. The pool area is fun for the kids and even has a kiddie water play area. The bartenders at the bar next to the pool are nothing short of awesome!! Don't leave without trying the beignets! A 15-minute boat ride to Disney Springs facilitates shopping and dining. Overall, a nice place to stay at Disney. We parked our car on Friday, didn't see it till Monday! Took full advantage of their bused and boats to parks and abroad the World.
