Let me start by saying that I am a huge Disney fan and have visited DW probably 30 times. I have stayed at many of their hotels and have never been disappointed until now. Our room was not particularly clean. The chairs in the room were stained and had ripped fabric. There were worn spots on the carpet. Main pool was not as interesting as the pools at other Disney hotels. The whole place just seemed old. This hotel really needs a renovation.
It was an interesting visit. The resort is basic and needs to be renovated indoor hotel rooms. However, my family and I planned to purchase park tickets and were lied to that the general admissions is closed for the next two days.... I had to missed the day that day. My cousin had an idea the very next day, called Disney and they called the resort to correct and obtain free park tickets. Overall, it's a nice place, but seems like the employees doesn't know what they doing or even saying it right. Yes I would go back but I would call Disney and not ask people at the front desk.
We stayed in a room in a Preferred Room in the Toy Story section 11/12/16 - 11/16/16 and had a wonderful stay. If you are on a budget this hotel is a wonderful option! Took my 70 year old Mom and 7 year old son. My son loved the theme of this hotel! The grounds/pool/food area are all immaculate. We used the Fantasia pool a number of times and my son had great fun with the Pool games/activities each time. Our preferred room was not far from the buses or food court which was important to me for my senior Mom walking. The rooms are small but was fine for us. Our room was very clean and the mousekeeping was good daily. Only one time did they make any towel animals and arrange my sons Disney stuffed animals on the bed. When they didn't leave enough towels/soap etc I left a note and they remedied it. One night was pretty chilly and we requested light blankets which they brought to our room right away. We used the Disney transportation everywhere and did not rent a car and it was outstanding. We never waited more than a few minutes for a bus. We did have to stand once coming back from the Magic Kingdom late at night. We really didn't have to stop at the other All Star hotels very often. I think once coming back from Disney Springs and the other times were the Magical Express which was expected. The Food Court was overall pretty good and had decent options. The employees were all helpful and pointed out when we were not getting all the sides included on the kids meals. We did get the refillable mugs and found great value there. The only cons if I had to list any and for Disney management benefit if they ever read these reviews :) : -Disney should replace the carpet as it is worn and it would totally boost the room aesthetic! Didnt bother us.- We requested wake up call so our 7 year old could hear a character wake us up and it was awful. It was BayMax and the recording cut off in the middle while he was talking. And it was the exact same on another day. Disappointing - Our small refrigerator in the room never got cold even after turning it on coldest setting. Again not a big deal for us since we had our refillable mugs.I would definitely stay here again for the value and the convenience of the buses. I would rather spend my $ in the parks, meals out etc. To sleep and shower here, the room/bathroom was clean and beds were comfy. Pools were nice and had fun activities daily. There is a nice laundry area by the pool.Other recommendations; We did the O'Hana Character Breakfast at the Polynesian and it was excellent. My son loves Stitch. Stitch, Lilo, Mickey and Pluto were there. The breakfast buffet is brought to your table and was so good with Stitch waffles, fresh fruit, amazing fruit juice and more. We also ate at the Rain Forest Restaurant and Disney Springs and it was very good as usual. If you are looking for a value hotel that is great for younger children - do not believe all the negativity on here and try it. I recommend getting the preferred room.
This was our third annual Thanksgiving trip to WDW. This year the grandparents came along. We booked two connecting rooms and it worked out perfectly for us. My parents stayed at a Disney resort for the first time and were super happy about the transportation. The rooms were clean and just what we needed given that we don't spend that much time in them anyway. I love staying at the value resorts. Great price and I love how it's decorated with the different characters. All in all great stay and would definitely recommend it to others.
We don't spend much time in the rooms... so for the money this is a great place. The rooms are nice and clean. They have a small frig. We like to stay at the Disney resorts for the bus transports to the parks!! That's worth it to us. They have a fun little bar and the kids love the food court. Plenty of choices... and they have Mickey shaped waffles! That's a big deal for the kids. Some of the resort don't have them. One thing I wish they had bigger beds. The bed is a full size, a little small for two people! Also ... All star movies is the last stop after music and sports on the bus route back from the parks at night... might be a long wait for the little ones. The preferred rooms are the ones up close to the buses, and food court. That's about the only difference, but might be worth the extra $$ for a coffee run in the morning.
