This is not the best of Disney properties, however, if you're like me I don't spend much time in the room when I'm at Disney! I can just say if was sufficient.... The beds did not seem like they were queen, more like full or double. Have stayed at others and they were better. Staff was great as always, resort was clean. The eatery is located next to the lobby and we ate there four days in a row with no variation of the menu to speak of. Nice gift shop. Transportation was also right outside the lobby with buses running every 20 min to all other resort areas. They use a magic band for everything now and is connected virtually to all Disney stuff, shopping, and food. You just swipe your band an go. I love Disney!!!!
The hotel is set up with Disney's famous "Top Notch" Quality. Although, the staff seemed pretty stressed at the Food Court and it didn't feel like the Disney I knew from several years ago. It was pretty crowded at this resort, and we wished we would have chosen a different one due to the crowd and stressed out Cast Members (on different occasions). The rooms are an average size, maybe a little smaller, but it worked very well for myself and my 3 kids (ages 17, 14 & 11). We had a great time and the buses were very prompt in taking us and bringing us back from the parks.
"There is value, moderate, and luxury - this is value." This was told to me by the young man checking me in when I told him I would be moving over to Wilderness Lodge the next day. He said All Star -------- was definitely a "value" property. And it is.The good: It's on Disney property with access to the transportation system. The bad: Nothing. Not too much different than the value properties of Hilton and Marriott. Basic amenities. No breakfast but a food court. Good pools on property. No power outlets on the nightstand which is increasingly necessary as people charge their phones which double as alarm clocks. Wifi at times had a weak signal, especially in the evening when most would be using it. Wifi worked well in the morning. Large complex with many buildings.Bottom line is I would not hesitate at all to stay at any of these "value" properties that comprise the All Star complex (Sports, Music, Movies). You can do much better offsite if money is your only consideration. But you can't beat the location if you want to be inside WDW. Just know there is value, moderate, and luxury - this is value.
This was our first time visiting Disney, and since we had plans to visit all the parks in or near Orlando this hotel was more than fine.Room was clean, beds were super comfy. The store is very convenient and the restaurant (cafeteria style) was actually better than what I expected. We booked in April with the Free Dining offer and it was a huge saving. Since you get a souvenir mug for drinks, we exchanged the drink included in the meals for snacks.Staff was very friendly. Checking in/out was quick.
For Disney, the value of this hotel is great! Once we got the lay of the land it was easy to navigate. The food court is very loud, but the lines move quickly and have a decent selection of foods, we only had breakfast there though. The room was definitely a basic room with the basic minimum toiletries, bar soap and a small bottle of shampoo/conditioner. I'm glad I always travel with my personal hairdryer as they don't supply them in the rooms! It was kind of warm in the room and you can't adjust the thermostat to your comfort, only down 1 degree and that was it. However the property is very clean and about a 15 minute bus ride to Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and Disney Springs.
