Disney's Beach Club Resort
- What's Included
I stayed here to have a quick access point into Epcot. It’s great for this reason. However, the decor screams 80’s to me. It’s alright looking, but not my favorite. You could get lost in the hallways. The boat ride to Hollywood studios was very nice. We did the walk from the hotel to Hollywood Studios. Although I burned off several calories, it was quite a long walk if you’re already tired from walking in the parks. I’m glad we had the experience of staying here. I would recommend it just based off the location alone.
Our family of four stayed two nights over New Years Eve at the Beach Club and here are my thoughts.I arrived in my own rental car and the gentleman at the security gate, I think his name was Joe, was awesome. So friendly and welcomed us to the resort. I feel that there are many other security personnel around WDW who could take a lesson from Joe. We arrived close to four and although I had completed the online check-in process, `we were never notified. I finally had to go to the front desk and inquire, at which point the front desk staff located my room. A minor inconvenience; however, it delayed our use of the facilities (pool, etc.). The room was clean and I did like the set up of the two sinks with the shower separated. My only problem with the room was the size. I realize that staying on Disney property you are paying a premium, especially around New Years; however, I just don't feel like there is much value compared to the size of the room, vs. room rate. My family loves the Waldorf near Disney Springs and for the price I paid here, I could have gotten a one bedroom suite there. I digress. The resort itself is very well kept and I didn't notice any trash or dirty dishes in the hallways. This resort is more laid-back than other resorts and doesn't have that huge lobby as some of the other resorts have. The beach/nautical theming throughout is very well done. And the pools were amazing. I also used the gym while there and can say I thought it was very adequate for a hotel gym. The staff were outstanding throughout our visit and I don't have anything negative to say. All were friendly and had that "Disney Magic" vibe. I would stay here again. Even though the rate is a little steep, I did like the fact that we could walk into Epcot and the facilities are top notch. Probably my go to for future Disney property stays. Although next time I'll book a villa.
The Beach Club is bright and Beautifully decorated with updated rooms and a smaller feel than some of the other deluxe Hotels. I wanted A hotel that was convenient and pretty, While somewhat quiet, and I got it! We Stayed over the Marathon Weekend as non participants and were not once bothered by the festivities of others. The Service-Let me be perfectly clear, My expectations were not the same as staying in the Four Seasons or The Hyatt. The Service level was not 5 stars and I'm glad I didn't expect that. We had an issue with not receiving our ordered magic bands and at both the resort desk and guest relations in the park, it seems that it is not Disney policy to take ownership for mistakes (It was cleared up through my travel agent in the end who had the bands reimbursed on our account). We were surprised by this only because a Magic Band is worth $30.00, so not to replace it immediately baffled both my wife and I. Other than that no issues with the hotel at all.The Beach Club is perfectly located, and has a lot of amenities considering it is an indoor 5 min. walk to the Yacht club amenities or a 5 min. outdoor walk to the Boardwalk. A 5 min walk to Epcot and a 15min. walk to Hollywood Studios. We took regular Lyft (not the Mini-van) to get to Animal kingdom for rope drop and home from other resorts after dinner which worked well. The bus system does not go from resort to resort and was very crowded in the mornings to get to the parks, so we choose this option and it was seamless. We ate at The Yachtsman Steakhouse (dinner) and Cape May cafe(Breakfast) and Trattoria Al forno(dinner on the boardwak) and enjoyed them all. The room was spacious and clean and had a full balcony with a view of the small pool and lagoon. We bought wine and trinkets from the market place and also had purchases shipped there from the parks which was a fantastic perk! We did not take advantage of the refillable mug very much because we did not want to carry it around. We left feeling that we didn't get to enjoy the Hotel/Pool enough, so we booked a bounce back trip for the same time as the Food and Wine festival this year, with an upgrade to the club level.I am curious to see what the difference in service is if any. If you are looking for convenience and a relaxed atmosphere this is a good choice.
Our family of 5 stayed here December 21-26, 2017. This was our third time staying here. We absolutely love this resort! When we arrived about 11:00 am our room was not ready so we had our luggage stored and we spent the afternoon at the pool. Our room was ready about 2:00. The room was spacious and clean (#4289). Plenty of room for everyone. We were upgraded to a pool view which was very nice. We had a teeny, tiny balcony that only 2 people could stand on at time but we didn't mind. The second day we came back to the room about 3:00 and the room had not been cleaned but the mousekeeper had been there because the tip was gone. We called the main desk and housekeeping twice to complain before the manager of mousekeeping showed up with extra towels and toiletries which we requested because we had no clean towels or toiletries to get ready for dinner. She was very apologetic and said they were running behind. This was not our problem. We were angry that the mousekeeper took the money and left the room as it was. For the price we paid a night for a deluxe resort we expect our room to be cleaned before 3:00. My husband went down to the front desk to talk to a manager and he offered us a $100.00 credit which was very generous. When we returned to the room that night there was a plate of deluxe chocolates and a huge solid white chocolate Mickey as an apology. We had no other issues the rest of our stay. Our room was a hike from the elevator but we were in a corner and it was quiet. The beds were very comfy. The hotel is just beautiful. The pool is amazing! We never had a problem finding 5 chairs in a row but when we were here in the summer that was not the case. The pool chairs fill up quickly that time of year. There was a lot of fun activities going on at the pool for the kids but the pool activity director had latin accent and it was impossible to understand what he was saying. I love the fact that you must show your magic band to get into the pool to keep outsiders out. The location can't be beat! The walk to EPCOT is less than 5 minutes! The boat to Hollywood Studios is a nice, relaxing ride. So much better than a stinky, overcrowded bus. The only downside to this resort is the lack of a food court. We got breakfast twice in the gift shop but it was not the same as a food court on any level. Extremely scaled down. We ate by the pool from Hurricane Hannah's but not a very good selection of food items. Food courts are so much more convenient. But we would stay here again in a second!
We stayed at the Beach Club at the recommendation of a friend who is a Disney expert, and it did not disappoint! Our kids love pools and the Beach Club pool is hands down the best of all the Disney resorts. And since Epcot is our favorite Disney park, Beach Club's location couldn't be beat. It is just a short stroll from the entrance to Epcot's World Pavilion. We also enjoyed the boat rides to some of the other parks, which were a nice alternative to the bus. Our 1st floor room was clean, nice, and located close to the Marketplace, which was very convenient for us. Though it is pricey, I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
