Disney's Port Orleans Resort consists of two themed resorts, the French Quarter and Riverside. Intricate railings, cobblestone streets and courtyards of flowers capture the spirit and romance of New Orleans' French Quarter. Dine on Creole delicacies, plunge into Doubloon Lagoon with its fantastic water slide or relish the Mardi Gras atmosphere. Dazzling detail, bayou excitement and "all that jazz." At Riverside, be surrounded by the tranquility of the Louisiana Bayou as you enjoy the hospitality of a picturesque waterfront Resort hotel that embodies the traditions born of steamboat travel, formal garden parties, and mint juleps on the front porch.
Location: In the Downtown Disney Resort Area with water launches to Downtown Disney; 22 km from the Orlando airport

Has a feel like a New Orleans Residential Area

We liked the New Orleans residential feel of the resort. There's a great pool with water park the children will love along with a credit card operated laundry nearby. The Pool bar is an excellent place to meet and watch people or catch a game on the TV. On several nights each week there's an outdoor movie on the lawn or a campfire with marshmallow roasting (No charge). The bar inside near the lobby is rather small but friendly during the renovation of the food court. There's a temporary service area with seating near the lobby area during the renovation of the food court ( I heard it may be completed by December 2016) The Riverside resort is a short (10 minute) walk from French Quarter with table service restaurant and food court. Water shuttles will take you to Disney' Springs for shopping or dining. Disney bus transportation is located close to the lobby with frequent service to Disney Springs and the Theme Parks. Ask for a Corner River View room on the second floor for great views of the river that runs alongside the resort. One negative I experienced was the mattresses are too soft and somewhat aged for my comfort. Port Orleans French Quarter does not have the long walk from the Disney bus to the sleeping rooms that I experienced at Port Orleans Riverside. I look forward to returning to the Port Orleans French Quarter after the Food Court reopens.

Like being in the Crescent City

Such gorgeous gardens, matured plantings, vibrant flowers and gaily colored buildings all contribute to the flavor of New Orleans here at Walt Disney World. We stayed at the French Quarter and I was happy with the rooms soundproofing, but the beds were not that comfy. The maid service was efficient, and rooms were very clean. The pool was great- big and full of things for the kids to do, with activities and splash pools. A handy cocktail bar was a nice touch, and tasty light food was available, with poolside service. I would recommend this for families who are wanting a medium priced resort.

Second Magical stay

This is the second time we have stayed at the Port Orleans French Quarter. Our favorite thing is the boat shuttles to Disney Springs.Hotel grounds feel very nice and peaceful which is a welcome respite after a day at the parks. We purchased the meal plan for this trip. We love the refillable mugs with free beverages 24 hours a day at the food court !! Also love the many new Starbucks options at the parks and Disney Springs. Love even more that you can use a snack entitlement for Starbucks drinks!!

Above and Beyond

I have always enjoyed our stays at the French Quarter resort over the years. On my most recent visit Debbie who I believe is the resort manager went above and beyond to work out a room switch for us. I recommend this resort very highly. My family and I will be back again!

Might Be My Favorite Disney Hotel....

When deciding on a Disney World hotel to stay for one night after a Disney Cruise, I couldn't resist staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. We usually stay at Port Orleans Riverside, but we stayed there for one night before the cruise, so I wanted to get some French Quarter in, too. Upon arrival immediately following our cruise, several cast members were waiting as the bus pulled up. They all welcomed us with warm greetings and smiles. Our room wasn't ready yet, so we dropped off our luggage at Bell Services. They were also very helpful and friendly. My husband had medication that needed to stay cool, and they assured us that wouldn't be a problem, and we were on our way to the Magic Kingdom. When leaving a Disney cruise, if you want breakfast with your tablemates and the servers that have been with you the entire cruise, you have a very early breakfast time. We were exhausted quickly, so we headed back to the resort around 2:30pm. I hadn't received a text message that our room was ready yet, so I was a little nervous. But by the time we got back to the resort, I received a text message with our room number and a map showing us where the room was located. I had reserved a standard view room, so imagine my surprise when we arrived and we had gotten a pool view room with a beautiful river view, also. I know to some people since you don't have a private balcony at moderate resorts the view doesn't matter, but I love walking outside my door and having a nice view. We entered the room and it was beautiful. I love the décor of this entire resort. My husband called bell service and asked that our luggage be delivered, like previously mentioned, we were exhausted and just wanted to rest. Our luggage arrived a short time later, I don't know exactly how long because it took me about 12 seconds to fall asleep on the incredibly comfortable bed. The next morning our flight was in the early afternoon so we headed to the food court to grab breakfast. When at Port Orleans French Quarter, I highly recommend grabbing some of their wonderful, freshly made beignets. When I ordered them, the cast member helping me suggested I try them with the warm chocolate dipping sauce. How could I resist chocolate with my breakfast?! They take a few minutes since they are made to order, but I would wait an hour for these things! Hot and fresh and so delicious! One of the things I like about this resort is how compact it is. Our room was a 2 minute walk from the main building. I also love the jazz music they play throughout the resort. I really don't think there's anything I don't like about this resort!
