Overview
Disney's Port Orleans Resort consists of two themed resorts, the French Quarter and Riverside. Intricate railings, cobblestone streets and courtyards of flowers capture the spirit and romance of New Orleans' French Quarter. Dine on Creole delicacies, plunge into Doubloon Lagoon with its fantastic water slide or relish the Mardi Gras atmosphere. Dazzling detail, bayou excitement and "all that jazz." At Riverside, be surrounded by the tranquility of the Louisiana Bayou as you enjoy the hospitality of a picturesque waterfront Resort hotel that embodies the traditions born of steamboat travel, formal garden parties, and mint juleps on the front porch.

Location: In the Downtown Disney Resort Area with water launches to Downtown Disney; 22 km from the Orlando airport

Great Hotel to stay

Stayed here for 4 nights . Simply wonderful !!! The rooms are very comfortable and you get a boat ride to Disney Springs . Buses are available from the resort to take you to the parks at any hour of the day . Kids can watch watch movies under the sky at night and the swimming pool is fun with slides to splash down into the water . Had a great stay .

Another Winning Disney Property

Our favorite Disney hotel is the Port Orleans Riverside, but it was sold out for the dates we wanted so we went with the sister property next door. The French Quarter feels smaller and more compact than Riverside, but the rooms are identical and the grounds are beautifully maintained. We had a room with a river view, which was really lovely. The on-site restaurant is also smaller than Riverside but it offers everything you could need. With the bus stops right out the front door, getting around the various parks is a breeze. Disney properties can be overwhelming but French Quarter would be a great property for first timers wanting to get a feel for the parks. My family would gladly stay here again.

Simply wonderful!

This was our 3rd trip to Disney World, and our 3rd hotel. Hands down, it was the best! We always research hotels, and change our minds about 5 times before finally settling on one...we were not disappointed in any way in this hotel. We requested an early checkin, and the room wasnt quite ready when we arrived, but we did take advantage of the bag drop off service and we began exploring the resort. Within 30 min, we got a call saying our room was ready. Upon entering the room, we were blown away. Not only was it really pretty, but actually smelled and looked clean!! My husband has extreme OCD so I always double check the bathroom, curtians, beds, even behind the beds...etc. i was again suprised at how clean this place actually was. We stayed for 9 nights and my husband didnt find anything wrong with the room even once! Housekeepinv always did an amazing job.. mopped everyday, made us cute designs with our towels or blankets... just wonderful. The resort itself is small enough it doesnt exhaust you to get to the bus before you enjoy a looong day at the park. We were also able to take advantage of the resort fill up mugs, as the dining hall was only about a 3 minute walk from our room. Believe me, the last thing you are interested in doing is taking a 20 minute walk to fill up a mug. All the staff were friendly, and the resort overall was very clean. We will absolutely stat there again. I highly highly reccommend it to everyone!

Enjoyed our stay

We had a nice stay at the French Quarter. We had a FULL week of non-stop Disney parks so we really didn't have a chance to explore the hotel's amenities. Staff were great, room was clean, a fridge was included to keep food/drinks cold which is always a bonus. Couldn't really ask for more.Bonus was boat that picks you up just a few steps from our room and takes you down the river to Disney Springs.

Expensive Hotel with lack of amenities

For being the "cheapest" hotel in Walt Disney World, this was one expensive hotel in my opinion. Let's start with the good though. We are a family of 5, with 3 small kids. We booked 2 queen sized beds for our trip. It was ok I suppose for now, but it was a bit cramped for our liking. The room is quite clean, though I think the carpet has a bit of light musty smell to it. The room has a kitschy 3 star hotel feel to it, I think it is quite old? The only amenities they provide is shampoo, conditioner and soaps. For men, be prepared to bring your own toiletries. No toothbrush too! I think this is sacrilege for hotel charging this much.Just about the only good thing for this hotel is the surrounding (nice kids pool, free boat ride to the shops) and the fact that you get to enter the resort 1 hour earlier than everybody else. That helped a bit with the queue. One thing that I find shocking was the no breakfast policy. I mean again, for the price they are charging, this should have been included. No excuse! The existence of this resort is clear, to extract as much money from you as possible. I would not stay in here for future stays to Orlando.
