Disneys Port Orleans French Quarter
- What's Included
- All Inclusive Features
We've been to WDW many times. Port Orleans French Quarter has always been on our bucket list. It's a beautiful resort! Nice and small! However, I read over and over again how quiet this resort it... it's not!!! Kids everywhere!! I love kids but when they are screaming outside my door at 6:00 am I take exception. Also, every time your neighbor to the right or left if you as well as the one above flushes their toilet you hear it. Another issue we had was our room was not available until nearly 6:00 pm. We were told a 3:00 pm check in so we came back from the park at 3:00 to unpack and leisurely get ready for dinner. We were not happy to find out that they don't have to provide a room to you until 5:00 pm. And then they were even late then. Lastly, food court was mediocre at best. If you stay here go to Riverside for a meal or two... much better selection of items.I'm glad we took the opportunity to stay here but we will not be back. There are other resorts we prefer to stay at.
We stayed here from Thursday to Sunday and we were thrilled with this resort. We did the online check in so once our room was ready we got a text and email and could head straight up. The room upon arrival was relatively clean ( aside from two glass cups) the manager took care of that. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the cast members made us feel right at home. The pool is gorgeous to sit by and a read book, and the grounds and are beautiful during daytime and night. We had a garden view room (building 2) and we loved it! We were close to the lobby where the food was and the bus stop. The best part about this resort is that it’s small, and you are not sharing a bus with multiple stops and other resorts. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus other than on our first trip to magic kingdom which was on a night of mickeys not so scary. We dined in the food court twice and enjoyed the food. The pizza was a bit greasy, but the pasta was delicious. We did not try the delivery option, but the menu seemed to have a lot. Mouse keeping did a good job with our room, and one day we even got towel art! We saw that the resort offers carriage rides at night which looks super romantic. Our only complaint would be how thin the walls are. We were next to a family with younger children who would let their children stay up all night screaming and banging against the walls. We understand it is a family place, but 3 am is a little late to be running around and playing. Other than that it was a lovely stay. For the price we paid we felt like we were in a deluxe resort with how spacious the room was. We plan to stay here in the future!
We stayed here for 7 nights at the end of September 2017, this was our first time on Disney property. We loved everything about this hotel. We were in building 7 and even though its the furthest away from the lobby/food court it really is a 3 minute walk. With being in this building it was so quiet and never really seen anyone in the surrounding room or heard them. There were a few disappointing things with the stay but they were so trivial, like the safe was weird and old fashioned and you used a key for it instead of a combination, it was also really thin so not a lot could fit in it. The room was clean apart from the fan on the ceiling that needed a good dusting. The bus service was generally really good, every 20 minutes for each park and Disney Springs. There was only one occasion where we shared a bus with other hotels but I think that's because it was about 2pm so probably not peak time. We were going to Animal Kingdom, instead of taking 10 minutes it took 40, we really did go around the world on that trip.We tried to have a pool morning one day but we were late down, we managed to get a bed but no umbrella so we couldn't stay out too long as we were just burning. We had breakfast every morning in the food court, food was good in there and always a lot of choice. As always Disney staff were so nice and pleasant and couldn't do enough for us. We also decided to take the voucher rather than housekeeping, they still come in to change the bins and towels after 3 days though so that was good with us.I'd stay here again and thinking about booking it for 2019!
Second stay but this time with our 4 year old. This hotel is amazing! The pools are spotless and locked till 9 a.m so not sun bed hogging. The room was spotless and so close to all facilities. The food was o.k, portions where obscene. When my son was poorly first night nothing was too much trouble and mousekeeping where up in a flash sorting the bed. We never waited longer than 5 mins to get on a bus. Only one downside is to get to a water park you have to go to Disney springs and change, and the bus was heaving!
From the moment we arrived at french quarter, I just knew we had chose the right resort. The rooms were a very good size with a really comfortable bed, could probably be due an update but to be honest they were so clean we didn't really take much notice of the decor. We were on the disney dining plan and the choice of food was fantastic, especially the breakfast Mickey waffles and pancakes were delicious. Getting to the parks couldn't have been easier, the bus stop was straight outside reception and we didn't wait more than 10 mins for a bus wherever we went. The swimming pool is great for the kids and they had entertainment on in the pool till 10 oclock at night for them. The staff were so helpful and tried to do everything they could so we could enjoy our holiday. All in all a fantastic holiday from the start to the very end so much I didn't want to leave and my 5 year old was so upset that we've promised to go back in a couple of years time it was amazing.
