Overview
Disney's Port Orleans Resort consists of two themed resorts, the French Quarter and Riverside. Intricate railings, cobblestone streets and courtyards of flowers capture the spirit and romance of New Orleans' French Quarter. Dine on Creole delicacies, plunge into Doubloon Lagoon with its fantastic water slide or relish the Mardi Gras atmosphere. Dazzling detail, bayou excitement and "all that jazz." At Riverside, be surrounded by the tranquility of the Louisiana Bayou as you enjoy the hospitality of a picturesque waterfront Resort hotel that embodies the traditions born of steamboat travel, formal garden parties, and mint juleps on the front porch.

Location: In the Downtown Disney Resort Area with water launches to Downtown Disney; 22 km from the Orlando airport

Hurricane? No Problem

We have stayed at the French Quarter three times now. The staff is always friendly, the service is great and the river walk is romantic. This trip happened to include Hurricane Irma. As long as humanly possible, the staff provided limited hot food service, a sack breakfast for then next day (yes it was for purchase), and helped to entertain the kids with Disney characters in the lobby. The gift shop kept a few food essentials available, peanut butter/jelly, lunch meats, sodas, water, etc. After the storm, the grounds were quickly made passable and the characters returned to entertain the clients. In our room during the wind and rain storm, we stayed comfortable and dry. We never lost power, TV or any other utility. We hardly heard the wind. Thank you Disney for making our trip pleasant even under adverse conditions.

Pleasant hotel grounds, staff, experience

Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay here. It's worth the benefits (easy access to buses, close -in to parks, early entry) to stay at a Disney hotel. Hotel staff brought us a clean, nice pack and play for our 8 month old to sleep in. We used the refrigerator for drinks and baby food. Our oldest loved the dragon waterslide at the pool, too. Funny how you're at DISNEY and they talk about the pool/waterslides. Kids! We were able to get a relatively quieter location with the baby, but it was they absolute furthest you get from the buses. Still just a 5 minute walk with stroller. Restaurants were good, staff at the store were exceptional when my daughter experienced a shoe incident. The only reason I wouldn't say 5 stars is because 1 - the rooms are on the small side (which is fine, you're not there much) and also the double sinks are separated from the room by a curtain, not a door. So, if you make any noise, blow dry your hair or wash baby bottles, for example, you're probably going to wake up anyone sleeping. However, this would not stop us from staying here again.

Port orleans french quarter

Recently stayed here and really like this resort. Online check in is the way to go.I received a text my room was ready along with a room number. It also included a map of resort. This is my favorite moderate resort because of its smaller size. The food court ran smoothly and the pizza and beignets were very good. (The only food we ate there).Buses ran on time and smoothly. The ride to epcot is approximately 20 min and to magic kingdom is about 10 min.It is also a short walk to Riverside, they have a bigger gift shop there with more selections.

Loved our Disney Trip

It was our first Disney trip in almost 20 years and we decided to stay at Port Orleans French Quarter because it was a little smaller than some of the other resorts. We enjoyed the quiet of the resort and the "tree lined streets" that lead to the buildings and rooms. It is a moderate resort so the rooms are equal to a mid level hotel as far as size goes but you don't spend much time there anyway. We enjoyed boat rides to Disney Springs and never had to wait too long for a bus to whatever resort we were going to. The other nice thing is that on some days you don't even share a bus with Riverside so you get picked up and off to the park. Only once or twice did we do the Riverside run to pick up guests there too. We really liked French Quarter and would stay there again when and if we save up the money.

Nice Comfortable Disney hotel

Very good experience staying for 7 days (almost 7 Days due to Hurricane IRMA). Quick Disney Magic Express Ride from MCO Airport. It made first stop at Old Key West, 2nd Stop Coronado Springs and final stop at our hotel. Fast easy check in and I requested to be in building # 5 which was granted. Building # 5 & Building # 2 are close to pool and main building. Food was okay in their quick service dining restaurants. Good amount of space in room. However bathroom door lock was damaged but didn't let hotel know. Room service replaced our bath towels with dirty towels. Had to call housekeeping to get clean ones which is annoying. Kids loved playing in the pool and we took the shuttle boat once to Disney Springs. Very slow 15 minute ride, so we decided to take the Shuttle bus back and forth to Disney Springs. Faster and we enjoyed the air condition from the hot and humid days running around Disney world. The provided bus shuttles to all the Disney Parks are fast and so simple to use. All Disney parks are within a 15 minute drive or less on shuttle bus and the shuttle buses only stop at French Qtr. I took lyft around to get to restaurants off property, all restaurants where within 15 minute drive which prices where around $11- $13 dollars. The hotel offered us 40% discount on our room if we had to extend our stay due to hurricane Irma. Would stay again at French Qtr. They have a very skinny old style key lock safe inside the bathroom, we basically squeezed in very small items. Cant put much in the room safe.
