I've stayed in several Disney hotels, the last time at the Caribbean, which is the largest Disney resort, so I decided to stay this time at the smallest...and what a difference!! Wow!! Everything was in easy reach from food court, shop, bus stop swimming pool, boat to Disney Springs, all within a few minutes walk. The hotel is set up in New Orleans style and is fabulous. The rooms are clean and adequate. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food court was convenient and had lots of options, we tried the food court at our neighboring hotel, Riverside, one day, and really appreciated how compact and quaint our little food court really was and how fabulous it was to just have the one bus stop opposed to lots of different stops. Would definitely stay here again and may never go back to a bigger resort!!! My only disappointment was that in all other Disney resorts I have stayed in the "mousekeeping" always does something a little magical in the rooms, but there was nothing, especially disappointing as I was with a first timer and wanted them to experience "mousekeeping" fun.
Stayed here for 4 days the end of March and loved it. Beautiful property that made me think I was in New Orleans with all the attention to detail. We were in building 1 which was down by the water and a very short 5 min walk to pool/food court/boat dock. There is plentiful parking close to each building which are 3 levels with a central elevator and open stairways. We spent a day at the pool which was very nice with lounge chairs and lots of ability to find shade. Towels were readily available as well as restrooms and a pool bar with great drinks. Took the boat over to Disney Springs several times... tried to take the bus back but the bus terminal at Disney Springs is terrible... there is no cast member supervision so if it rains it's a free for all... no line because none of the ropes are up and everyone just pushes and shoves... we went back to the boats which were calm and well managed. We ate several times at the food court and enjoyed everything we had. There are several stations that make items to order. We had pasta dishes 1 night and had a lovely conversation with the chef and returned about 5 hrs later for some ice cream with beignets (which are AWESOME) and he saw us and came over to talk to us again... specifically asked how we liked our pasta dishes. We went up to Riverside 1 night to see YeeHaw Bob perform... DO NOT MISS HIM.... absolutely 1 of the best entertainers at Disney. Did not go to the front desk at all so can't speak to that... I checked in online and already had my magicbands so they messaged me when my room was ready and all the details. Our bands opened the door without any problem. Checkout was expedited since I had my credit card on file so no need to go to the front desk then either.I did buy some things in the parks and had them delivered to the resort, you go to the store to pick them up... no problems with that either. My only complaint (which I have with most hotels) is the size of the bathroom...Why do they never give you enough room. The tub/shower knobs were up by the toilet and there was no room to walk up to it so I ended up putting the lid down to sit on it in order to adjust the temp of the water. There were 2 sinks that were outside the toilet and shower/tub as well as a rod to hang clothes. I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for eight nights in a king room. Our room was on the top floor in the corner overlooking the river which was nice. The room was large, clean and well maintained and the bed comfortable. We didn't really notice any external noise with the exception of the door to the room next door when it closed. There wasn't a lot of hanging space, basically a rail by the sink. Our only real complaint is that despite sometime leaving the room before 6 a.m. we would come back at around 3 p.m. and still find the room hadn't been serviced. As a Disney resort we found French Quarter to be ideal. It's compact size means that all the rooms are a short walk from the pool, reception and food court. The food court had Coke Freestyle machines installed which gave a great choice of drinks. Parking and buses are also easily accessible. The buses only make one stop at the resort and none of the buses we caught served another resort. There is a boat that goes to Disney Springs and the sister resort to Riverside, you can also walk there and use their facilities if you wanted.French Quarter was only a short drive from Epcot and Hollywood Studios, slightly further to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. We would stay here again.
Had the best stay ever! Everything clean and staff very friendly and accommodating. Food good and very convenient. Super great pool.loved the gift shop. Boat rides to Disney Springs close by and so cool! Bus stops to take you to the parks every few minutes. What I really love is how they say " Welcome home" to you like you are part if the Disney family. Lived every minute of it.
I have terrible mold allergies and asked for a VIP deep clean. (Disney does this at no cost if you ask far in advance.) Wow! What a plus. While the carpet was still damp, it was clear that they had steam cleaned and the musty carpet smell was gone. We had allergen free pillows and no nasty used runner or throws. So nice. We had a corner room with a river view, so that was a plus. The corner rooms have more light and feel larger. We used the fridge and coffee pot with supplies from home. The coffee provided is Jofferey's which is better than the old Nescafe, but still rather weak. The pool was clear and well maintained. Having stayed at all the budget and moderate resorts, we think FQ feels like a Deluxe on a smaller scale.
