Disney's Port Orleans Resort consists of two themed resorts, the French Quarter and Riverside. Intricate railings, cobblestone streets and courtyards of flowers capture the spirit and romance of New Orleans' French Quarter. Dine on Creole delicacies, plunge into Doubloon Lagoon with its fantastic water slide or relish the Mardi Gras atmosphere. Dazzling detail, bayou excitement and "all that jazz." At Riverside, be surrounded by the tranquility of the Louisiana Bayou as you enjoy the hospitality of a picturesque waterfront Resort hotel that embodies the traditions born of steamboat travel, formal garden parties, and mint juleps on the front porch.
Location: In the Downtown Disney Resort Area with water launches to Downtown Disney; 22 km from the Orlando airport

Family vacation

Excellent hotel. Used an electric scooter to assist with limited mobility. Excellent transport by Harold, the Majic express driver. Fastest transport, short line-5 min wait. Porter at hotel excellent. Restaurant onsite has amazing selection and large portions. Very thankful for the regular dining plan. Made mealtime very enjoyable. Dont miss making dinner reservations in Disney Springs at Portebello restaurant- excellent italian sit down waterside. Take the ferry transfer there - very relaxing and interesting travelling by waterways instead of boats.

Your view will depend on previous Disney experience.

As a family who has previously stayed at Disney Saratoga Springs this just felt more like Butlins than Disney. The rooms are dark and very basic, and simply overpriced for what they are. Very much remind me of Butlins 1970s accommodation. The beds however are comfortable and clean. We had maintenance stuffing tissue paper in an extractor vent that blew noisy cold air into the premises. With the exception of a couple of staff the atmosphere did not feel like Disney either. The pool was wonderful but no where near enough beds.Pool bar on one day opened later than it was supposed to and even reception had no idea why it had not opened. When it did open half the limited bar food was not available so forced back to restaurant.Positive side is small and this means not so much walking as some of bigger properties.I think if this is your first visit to a Disney hotel you would think great, however if you have stayed at others you would find disapointing.

Amazing Disney Hotel

My husband and I stayed here on our recent trip to Florida. If you are looking for a small and quiet Disney hotel, this is the one for you. There is a boat you can take to get to Disney Springs or Port Orleans Riverside-it was a beautiful ride. The food court features different cuisines throughout the day-some are New Orleans themed food, such as po boy sandwiches and their wonderful beignets, but they also had pizza and burgers as well. The food was tasty, but costly (this is Disney, after all). On some nights they showed movies on the green, and had campfires too. Bus service takes you to any of the parks, and there is a free airport shuttle. The Mardi Gras theme was a treat. The shop features everything and anything you could think to buy. I absolutely loved this hotel, and would come back again if I were to visit Disney.

Great resort

We love this resort! It's the only resort we have stayed at in Disney. It's the smallest property. At the end of the day at the parks the last thing you want to do is hike through a big property to get to your room. The property is beautiful. The restaurant inside is ok. Don't eat the biscuits and gravy. It tastes just like it looks (barf)! That's the only downfall. Their beignets are to die for!!! Great for kids and adults! Also, the pool bar makes a delicious margarita!!!

Great hotel

The hotel was great, Mardi Gras theming was so cute! Its a smaller resort so even though we were in a building farther out, we only had to walk a few minutes to everything--buses, food court, pool. The room was perfect for the 3 of us. Beds were the perfect mix of soft/firm and linens were soft. Only thing I didn't like was that the shower/toilet area was cramped. I did appreciate the double sinks though, kiddo & I could both get ready while hubby was in shower...The food was pretty good too. Over the course of our trip, we had Mickey waffles (very good), a pizza (not great/not bad), breakfast po-boy (huge!), shrimp & grits (amazing). Bought the refillable mugs which was great not having to buy drinks/stand in line except for meals. The pool was nice. Kiddo loved the sea serpent water slide, there were a lot of lifeguards keeping an eye on everything, plenty of seating around it, and plenty of towels & towel return areas.Never waited very long for bus to resorts!**Kiddo is too old for playground & splash area so I can't comment on either other than to say they looked fun for little ones...
