Such gorgeous gardens, matured plantings, vibrant flowers and gaily colored buildings all contribute to the flavor of New Orleans here at Walt Disney World. We stayed at the French Quarter and I was happy with the rooms soundproofing, but the beds were not that comfy. The maid service was efficient, and rooms were very clean. The pool was great- big and full of things for the kids to do, with activities and splash pools. A handy cocktail bar was a nice touch, and tasty light food was available, with poolside service. I would recommend this for families who are wanting a medium priced resort.
This is the second time we have stayed at the Port Orleans French Quarter. Our favorite thing is the boat shuttles to Disney Springs.Hotel grounds feel very nice and peaceful which is a welcome respite after a day at the parks. We purchased the meal plan for this trip. We love the refillable mugs with free beverages 24 hours a day at the food court !! Also love the many new Starbucks options at the parks and Disney Springs. Love even more that you can use a snack entitlement for Starbucks drinks!!
I have always enjoyed our stays at the French Quarter resort over the years. On my most recent visit Debbie who I believe is the resort manager went above and beyond to work out a room switch for us. I recommend this resort very highly. My family and I will be back again!
When deciding on a Disney World hotel to stay for one night after a Disney Cruise, I couldn't resist staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. We usually stay at Port Orleans Riverside, but we stayed there for one night before the cruise, so I wanted to get some French Quarter in, too. Upon arrival immediately following our cruise, several cast members were waiting as the bus pulled up. They all welcomed us with warm greetings and smiles. Our room wasn't ready yet, so we dropped off our luggage at Bell Services. They were also very helpful and friendly. My husband had medication that needed to stay cool, and they assured us that wouldn't be a problem, and we were on our way to the Magic Kingdom. When leaving a Disney cruise, if you want breakfast with your tablemates and the servers that have been with you the entire cruise, you have a very early breakfast time. We were exhausted quickly, so we headed back to the resort around 2:30pm. I hadn't received a text message that our room was ready yet, so I was a little nervous. But by the time we got back to the resort, I received a text message with our room number and a map showing us where the room was located. I had reserved a standard view room, so imagine my surprise when we arrived and we had gotten a pool view room with a beautiful river view, also. I know to some people since you don't have a private balcony at moderate resorts the view doesn't matter, but I love walking outside my door and having a nice view. We entered the room and it was beautiful. I love the décor of this entire resort. My husband called bell service and asked that our luggage be delivered, like previously mentioned, we were exhausted and just wanted to rest. Our luggage arrived a short time later, I don't know exactly how long because it took me about 12 seconds to fall asleep on the incredibly comfortable bed. The next morning our flight was in the early afternoon so we headed to the food court to grab breakfast. When at Port Orleans French Quarter, I highly recommend grabbing some of their wonderful, freshly made beignets. When I ordered them, the cast member helping me suggested I try them with the warm chocolate dipping sauce. How could I resist chocolate with my breakfast?! They take a few minutes since they are made to order, but I would wait an hour for these things! Hot and fresh and so delicious! One of the things I like about this resort is how compact it is. Our room was a 2 minute walk from the main building. I also love the jazz music they play throughout the resort. I really don't think there's anything I don't like about this resort!
My husband, my son, and I stayed here for 5 nights in September while visiting Disney World. I have stayed on property at disney several times before, once at an All Star Resort (Movies), and a couple of times at Coronado Springs. Fond of all of those stays, but WOW! Will never stay anywhere other than this resort at the moderate level. I have always wanted to stay at the Wilderness Lodge, but would have to find one heck of a deal to consider away from Port Orleans. Why? Read on.It is convenient. Staying at Disney World in general is convenient. It is as close to all inclusive as you can get if you stay on property and get the dining plan. I especially loved Port Orleans because there is only ONE bus stop. Coronado has 4 I believe and the All Star Movies... well, let's just say that you will get your steps in walking to your room alone. The Atmosphere. The streets truly feel like you are walking down New Orleans. The resort is clean and themed impeccably. The Service. I have always gotten wonderful service when staying at Disney. The service here, though, seemed above the rest. The Location. The only significantly long ride or wait that we had the entire stay was at Animal Kingdom and that is par for the course. Buses were timely. We most often waited less than 5 minutes and, other than on a couple of mid-day occasions, we did NOT share a bus with Riverside. The Food- Only got to try breakfast, but the beignets were delicious! The pool- The pool area was wonderful with a kiddy section as well as larger pool. My 5 year-old loved it and this was some of his fondest memories! You will not regret staying at this resort. It is a very well ran, clean, and beautiful resort! Will be back!
