Buyer Beware

My family recently stayed at this, our home property as DVC owners, during our most recent trip to Walt Disney World. This is the first year that Saratoga Springs has taken two areas of the resort and deemed them "preferred" locations, which of course either costs extra money if you're a guest or extra points if you are an owner. We have always requested to be placed in the Congress Park portion of the hotel because it is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the buildings near the resort entrance and main pool, so this time we did the same and spent the extra points. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we had been placed in a room that was just 100% unacceptable and most definitely not appropriate for a "preferred" location. We were placed at the end of a building with a lovely view of a muddy pathway and utility boxes. The "patio" was a small cement slab with a table and two chairs and absolutely no landscaping separating the "patio" from the service pathway that was immediately adjacent to it. The same service pathway was next to the windows for both ours and our daughters' bedrooms. We called the front desk to speak with a cast member about our concerns and after a rather frustrating call, were basically told that we could move to an entirely different area of the resort, not where we had requested, or stay put as they had no other options available. They didn't offer to move us to any non preferred locations, they didn't offer to have us move at another time during our stay to improve the conditions, they honestly didn't try to help us at all. So, we were in a "preferred" location, couldn't open the drapes in any of the rooms, couldn't enjoy any quiet time on the patio. Essentially couldn't enjoy any resort time at all. Oh, and did I mention that when we had resigned ourselves to having to stay in this dark, subpar room rather then waste our vacation time arguing with the hotel staff, that when my daughters went to put their clothes away and attempted to open the closet the entire closet door fell off in their hands. It wasn't on the track. We did reach out to Disney Vacation Club after we got home to express our concerns and they were kind enough to call us on a Sunday afternoon and take 40 minutes of our time to tell us that they weren't willing to do anything to help us be more satisfied with our stay or their customer service. So very disappointing as we have been traveling to Orlando several times a year since our oldest child was an infant and have NEVER encountered such poor customer service from so many avenues at the same time. And, we have been DVC members for more than 10 years and have never been so gravely disappointed by this company. So, this was a very long winded way of saying that if you are going to stay at this property, don't agree to pay extra for a "preferred" location because you aren't guaranteed a "preferred" accommodation. All areas of this resort are essentially the same and it just isn't worth the extra monies.

Another fantastic stay

Arrived at Saratoga Springs on the 29th July for a 2 week holiday. From the minute we arrived nothing was too much trouble, the warm welcome from reception staff, checking in was easy and quick. The rooms were serviced to a high standard, with clean bedding & towels each day.All staff across the whole resort were so friendly & helpful and it was a pleasure to see the 'older generation' in employment right across Disney including all the parks. The food within the Artist Palette & The Turf Club was varied and in my opinion catered for all. Another great holiday & I would definitely return to this resort. My only issue this year was the Disney Transportation system; the buses from resort to the parks I feel that the service had deteriorated since my last visit in 2015. On average you should wait no more than 20 minutes for a bus, we waited in excess of this on 2 occasions one of which was an hour. However upon reporting this to the hotel they acknowledge the issue and offered our party additional 'fast-passes' for one of the parks.Well done to all at Saratoga Springs & I hope to be back there soon😀

I love this place !

Great resort, we stayed in a 2 bedroom villa which was spacious and clean. We had a lounge, kitchenette and 2 large bedrooms one with a king sized bed and the other with 2 doubles. Each bedroom has its own bathroom which has a large shower and the main bedroom has a whirlpool bath. Maid service is everyday. The resort has 4 pools, we had one close to our villa. Staff are all super friendly. Food on site is good with sufficient choice, as we booked early we benefited from the fab Disney dining plan

Shoppers Paradise

As an owner of Disney Vacation Club shares at this property I will start with mentioning I am a little biased. It is the larges of the DVC properties and has plenty of space to stretch out. This may become a problem if mobility is an issue for you or anyone in your party. The property is immaculate as folks have come to expect of Disney. Also being within walking distance of Disney Springs is a major plus if you have shopper in your group. Im not the shopper, but I do love the proximity to the many dining and entertainment options in Disney Springs. Also the Lake Buena Vista golf course is located on this property.

Marvellous

2 week stay in 2 bed villa sleeping 7 of us. Plenty of space for us all without getting on one another's nerves. Rooms are big and each having their own shower and toilet. Master bedroom has ensuite spa bath which I used every day wine in hand whilst watching tv bliss ;-). Washer dryer was a blessing as was the kitchen with cooker kettle etc. Mouse keeping came daily and cleaned our room to a high standard. The resort itself is great. On beautiful grounds. It was calm and quiet. Both pools are lovely. Community hall was great with lots of activities for the children to do. The staff in there were fantastic, very friendly and polite and fun with our children. Food and drink in the quick counter restaurant was hot, French with plenty of choice. The boat to Disney springs was a blessing. Our only moan of the resort was the free parks bus transportation. It was always at least a 35 minute wait. On two occasions we Waited over one hour for buses to arrive. Missing fast passes and dinner reservations we were late for even though we allowed 1 and a half hours for travel. I'm unsure if these delays are due to the i road being worked on or is it because it's a DVC resort and they don't provide a good service?? We have stayed moderate and values resorts and bus transportation would always be available every 20 minutes. Returning from parks was also difficult waiting for up to an hour for buses to arrive when we would see like 3 of the same resort busses arriving and pulling off? We've stayed on different Disney properties before but Saratoga is now among our favourites and we will be making a return visit asap if the transportation to parks can be improved.
