The hotel staff was less than friendly. During check in there was no introduction to the resort (they were too busy), no hot water on our second day, no electricity on our third day, and no communication about anything - even when we asked. The resort has a LOT of staff standing around who can't seem to answer the basic questions about Park hours, transportation times or restaurant recommendations. I have had better concierge service at a Marriott - which is so disappointing because Disney is "known" for ensuring their customers are satisfied. The upside to the Yacht club is that you can walk to Epcot, and the boat ride to Hollywood is about 15 minutes. If you are looking to stay near the Magic Kingdom - this is NOT the place to stay. Moreover, if you are looking for a resort who values their guests - look elsewhere.
Walk to Epcot. Take a boat ride to Hollywood Studios. Take the bus to Disney Springs or to Animal or Magic Kingdom. Relax at night with a walk around the boardwalk and enjoy a beverage or a bite at the many restaurants around the lake. The service at the Yacht Club is epic. Truly first class. We LOVE to stay here. Bring your wallet, it is pricey! The kids will have a blast at the sandy bottom pool! And they have a killer slide. Awesome! There is a lazy river as well. Great fun for everyone. It's Disney, so of course there are fun activities for the kids and adults. Standard rooms are standard size, however it is the service and location that you are paying for. Love to be able to walk to and from Epcot.
Ok. I don't like to stay in Hotels. This was different. Clean. Friendly staff. Great room. Stayed on Club floor. Breakfast food, Evening beer, wine, soda cheese before dinner. Before bed snack. Great place to stay with Grandkids and for the Senior Kids.
After saying here and enjoying our stay in February, we decided to come back during Food & Wine at Epcot. Booked Club Level and expected a welcome or perhaps meet as we walked in the doors.....nothing.....after waiting for some time we were finally told our room was ready and to head to the 5th floor.....no escort, no offer to help with our 3 suitcases and carry ons....nothing. Upon arrival to 5th floor concierge was nice and went over Club Level offerings and resort amenities. Our room was 5149 which was a handicapped room.....we are ok with a handicapped room if given a choice but not into receiving one.Room was ok.....beds needed to be replaced as they were old and tired. Bathroom very large but zero counter space. Regular rooms have better counter space. We asked to be moved and were told no....possibly the next day......next day no one approached us so we stayed and never said another word.Housekeeping was great and did a good job. Turn down service was on point.Concierge staff were very nice and attentive although 1 person gave us misinformation on a tour we booked, but thats ok....it happens.Bus service was ok...could be better.....3 buses back to back for Animal Kingdom came while there was a large crowd for Magic Kingdom....stopped at Beach Club along the way to Magic Kingdom and bus was so full they still continued to cram more people on. I wonder if Disney will ever figure this one out. (we've been coming 3x a year staying at deluxe resorts for the last 11 years)Location is awesome!Beaches and Cream was awesome!Yachtsman Steakhouse is by far one of the best restaurants at Disney.....much better even than Le Cellier at Epcot.Main pool is nice but closes early at 9pm.Gift Shop service was hit and miss.....went in to buy a Vineyard Vines shirt and had a lady (cast member of the store) just stare at me while I waited at the counter....after standing there for a good 90 seconds I realized she wasnt going to check me out so I went to a different register.....very bizarre. Will more than likely come back as we love the location.
Convenient to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, and Boardwalk. Stormalong Bay pool complex is huge. Great for kids. Plenty of dining options. Resort and room was neat and clean. Cast Members were very courteous and helpful.
