4 star property with 5 star service, but 3 stars for planning

Lovely 4 star quality property with fun, family friendly 5 star service.Rated 3 stars for exceptionally poor planning and lack of response. Interior hallway under construction between lobby and the pool & restaurants. The closure forces ALL guests to walk thru the smoking section. ~4 days into 11 day stay I did ask that the smoking section be relocated during construction, but no action taken. As much as Disney excels at little details, it was disappointing to have to walk thru the smoking section multiple times everyday. We overall enjoyed our stay, but I'd recommend trying other properties since the local Yacht Club management isn't responsive to the concerns of non-smoking guests and the poor planning of the construction detour route.

Fantastic!

We stayed at Disney yacht club 20-27 September, it was our first trip to Orlando and we were absolutely over the moon with the hotel.Check in was easy, front desk gave us all the info we needed to get started on our holiday. We found all the staff in and around the hotel and parks extremely helpful and polite (totally different experience at universal) First day our maid noticed that we had used all 4 of our regular coffee and not the decaff, and each day left us 6 regular (plus the 2 decaff that we never actually drank). The bedroom was large with a huge bed and a pool view (we got upgraded on arrival), the bathroom was clean had a double sink but no bath, however this suited us. Plenty of toiletries were left in the room, and the hairdryer and coffee machine were both pretty decent. I loved that the room had a wooden floor and not a (dirty) carpet as we experience in our stay at universal, I have a bit of a germ phobia, but was presently surprised by how well kept the bedroom and bathroom were. good quality bedding too. Loved the laundry room, this was a life saver for us! Having packed for a 2 week holiday, I had no idea how humid Florida is and how often i'd want to get changed, thank goodness for self laundry, great idea.Pool area was fabulous, I loved the lazy river. Plenty of sunbeds.Location was perfect, 10 min walk to Epcot, 15 mins to Hollywood studio, although here was also a boat, which we never actually used.Boardwalk had a nice sports bar, great for a beer and a bite to eat. We also ate at the Italian, but were not overly impressed.Free wifi throughout hotel and parks was useful.Magic band with photo memory maker is a must, especially if its a once in a life time trip as it was for us. Its lovely to have photos of us as a couple, together that aren't selfies. All in all a fantastic hotel, great service, large clean and quiet room, plenty of amenities and a great location. I would highly recommend it and hope to return

Fantastic Family Holiday Resort!

We traveled to Disney Yacht Club as a family of 5 (3 kids aged 17, 13 and 9). It was the 1st time the kids had been to Disney so we decided to push the boat out and pay for a Disney Deluxe hotel. We are so glad we did. This review is written entirely from the perspective of a family party. The best features:1. Location. A 10 minute stroll to Epcot (arriving in the World Showcase, between France and the UK). A longer stroll to Hollywood Studios (perhaps 20 mins or so though we never walked it as we always took the water taxi from a jetty directly outside the front of the hotel).2. Disney Transportation. Brilliant Magic bus to and from the airport. So easy to use. The hotel has a bus stop outside the hotel with direct links to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom as well as Disney Springs (from where other buses connect to the likes of Typhoon Lagoon). The buses ran very regularly and we did not have a problem getting on them. We did not bother with a hire car for the 2 weeks we were there. If we had changed our mind then a dedicated shuttle can take you to Disney hire car facility. 3. The rooms. They are spacious and we didn't feel crammed in. The walls are a bit thin so we were disturbed a bit for a couple of nights by very loud guests next door returning to their room after midnight with screaming kids. However, after a tiring day in the parks it wasn't difficult to fall asleep. The bedroom and bathroom were very nice and plenty of towels and toiletries were always provided. A very nice patio area with a view out to a garden and Disney Boardwalk was included. The furnishings were good quality and clean. A very large wall mounted flatscreen TV was provided with ample Disney information channels (park times etc). The rooms were easily accessed with the Micky Bands (we never had an issue once with accessing the room).4. Food. We found the shop and the small food court area to be adequate but the adjoining Beach Club was better for feeding the family with either a quick breakfast or lunch. Equally, the Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club provided table service breakfast but as with all table service facilities in Disney, that had to be booked in advance (we used the Disney app for that and in fact for all restaurant reservations). We never used the formal dining restaurants so cannot comment on them. We tended to have our table service food in the parks. The food itself was very good, especially in Cape May, and that was a relief with 3 fussy eaters. The ice cream shop is a must too.5. The pool. This was beautifully maintained and cleaned with amazing lifeguard crews. We were able to fully relax by the poolside knowing that the kids were being professionally watched. It was also open late at night so that the kids often had a dip under the floodlights after a day in one of the parks. There was never an issue for us getting poolside seats.6. The staff. We can only praise the front of house staff who were able to provide information and guidance whenever we asked. Even when one of us turned up with a broken leg at the start of the holiday they were happy to accommodate us in a more suitable room, closer to the amenities. In short, it is a fantastic place to stay, though those with very young children or babies may prefer to stay next door at the Beach Club which seemed a little more suited to them. The Yacht Club was perfect for us.

Disney Signature Services at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club

For those of you planning to stay "Club Level" at a Disney resort, the Disney website proudly states that "Disney Signature Services" will contact you if you are staying club level to help plan your stay etc. This did not happen and I had to contact them instead and by then we had arranged all of our own reservations (time was beginning to run short). Lesson: make your own calls and start your own plans or you will miss out on coveted fast passes

Lived up to high expectations!

Yacht Club lived up to my high expectations! This was a quick 4-day getaway for a girl friend and me, and our first stay at a deluxe Disney resort. I’m an obsessive planner and huge Disney fan so living up to my expectations was not easy. However, our visit was absolutely top notch. The scent of the lobby was magical, the service at the desk and mousekeeping was wonderful and friendly always, the theming of the resort was very classy, and the location of the resort just cannot be beat. I was skeptical about if the cost of a deluxe resort would really be that much more worth the price than Pop Century or Port Orleans French Quarter, which I love. Being that Epcot is my favorite park, it very much is worth the extra. Being able to WALK (about 5-10 minutes, versus driving or long walks and waits for the buses) into the back gate (uncrowded) of Epcot was incomparable. Stormalong Bay pool area was awesome and so fun along with being gorgeous to see. We loved the lazy river and never had a problem getting tubes, and also we loved the sand bottom of the pool. Our room was upgraded. We paid for a garden/woods view. The desk lady asked what room we would like when we arrived. Something high and with a water view, we suggested laughing. Well we were surprised when we opened our door that we couldn’t have had a better view! - pool AND lake AND Boardwalk! We could even see Illuminations fireworks from our balcony. We asked for more coffee for the in room Keurig and they brought us a bag full. The beds and room were comfortable. I never heard anyone in any other rooms at all. It was very peaceful. The staff in the shop and quick food area were wonderful also. If the line started getting long in the food area, the store employees would come and get people to ring them up in there, even if they were ordering made-to-order items! Selection was great also. The ONLY disappointment was the parking upon arrival. It is very limited for self park - they want you to pay $25 valet - so self parking was kind of inconvenient and a little risky having to park along a curb. Overall, I will absolutely plan to stay here again. I was originally thinking I will try another deluxe resort next time, but I honestly don’t see how any other could top Yacht Club.
