If you are reading other reviews which complain about this hotel, swipe past those...As a Diamond HH and Royal Ambasador PC my hotel stays can be in some of the world’s finest and there is little wrong with this one. So ok I didn’t get my Honors benefits this stay because someone else booked through Hotwire but that’s the rules, even though you did give us two rooms at the lift shafts (noise pollution) we will forgive you.The rooms are modern and clean, a faulty faucet was repaired very quickly and whilst it’s true the lifts were busy at peak times we used a thing called stairs (Google it if American) which moved us magically to higher and lower levels in the building. As ever the bar and food prices are comedic but TGI’s and Miller’s are a very short walk away.On the topic of walking I noticed a few reviews here and Facebook moaning and grousing about transfers to Universal, you can see the car park across the same intersection of the hotel location. It takes ten minutes, you walk up the Valet Parking steps at Universal and skip the crowds, actually it’s probably faster than driving and the exercise will do you good. The walkway is signposted. We detected no smells or odours, only friendly staff and would absolutely stay here in the future without hesitation. Why pay five times as much for Portofino Bay just over the road? I have on gripe, that parking charge needs to be removed or dramatically lowered.
We booked this hotel as a holiday package with Virgin due to its location and links to public transport to Sea World, Universal and Disney. we were allocated a room in the tower for our 2 week stay. The room itself was large, clean, comfortable and adequate for our needs as we only really used it for sleeping. However there was no fridge in the room (which we were aware of) however we purchased a polystyrene cool box from the garage shop opposite for $6 and filled with ice (free from the hotel) each night. Housekeeping kept the room clean but on a couple of occasions we needed to ask reception for replacement coffee cups and plastic glasses. Disappointing that they don't provide proper cups.Transfer times from the hotel were limited. However we also bought a 2 week I-Ride Trolley Ticket from the hotel and purchased weekly Lynx bus tickets (bought online before the holiday) to provide flexibility. I-Ride is convenient at the front of the hotel for International Drive/Universal.However we were disappointed that the concierge didn't know where the nearest Lynx bus stop was. This is actually at the back of the hotel, outside at Sea World, which can be reached by the back gate of the hotel. To get the bus from Disney Ticket/Transportation Centre (approx 30 mins). It's meant to take 35 minutes. The best stop is the 3rd stop on Sea Harbour Drive (after Sea World entrance, next to the Wyndham). Cross the road and walk back to the previous crossing and turn right at the side of a car park. Turn left at the bottom and right to the gate at the back of the hotel. The gate says it closes after 1 hour after Sea World Closes but it isn't locked. Generally we found that there was poor pedestrian access to the hotel, which I feel is a common thread with getting around the area. We also had a billing issue which we realised when we got home, but to be fair, after an email this was resolved quickly.
This is a very odd resort. It has a very nice 17 story tower in the middle of it. The rooms are clean and generally quiet. (There was some work being done while we were there that interfered with our midday naps, but other wise...) The pools are nice. We enjoyed the hot tub. They have many activities available for guests in the courtyard. The location was excellent. Very easy to get on I-4 to go to the parks or to 528 to go to the beach. It is right on International Drive. There is a gate at the back of the property to walk over to Sea World. The convention center is quite close. The staff could not have been friendlier. The breakfast buffet was much larger than we expected and the staff there was very good. However, the lovely tower is surrounded by what looks to have been a Motel 6 many years ago. Lots of buildings with two story, outside entry rooms. We were originally assigned a room in one of these buildings and we quickly went back to the desk to change rooms. It just is not what we are accustomed to having. Parking was a major concern. When we returned in the evenings after our day of park touring, we had to drive around looking for a space and then walk quite a distance to our room. If you can stay in the tower and you don't mind the parking situation, it is actually a pretty great place to stay. We would probably not return though. There are just too many other options in Orlando.
We stayed for 1 night. Rooms are very beautiful. They have "villa concept" for their rooms and I like it. Rooms haven't any kettle and waters which has been on room has a price like 3 usd. In my opinion it should be free. It's "water". I saw this first time. Of course it's my first time in USA also. Maybe it's a USA thing. I don't know. Breakfast was great ! You have a lot of option.
My family and I stayed here for 1 night in a deluxe queen room. The room itself was nice. Parking was a nightmare. There was little parking left by the time we got there and had to park far away from our room. The parking should be free. It was a little confusing trying to figure out where our room was. We asked one of the people working there and he was trying to send us off in the wrong direction. Your staff should know the hotel better than this. Being diamond members we received free breakfast. It was the best hotel breakfast buffet I have been to. They had basically every breakfast item you could think of.
