Doubletree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld
- What's Included
Overview28-acre resort with health spa located next to SeaWorld and 3 blocks from the Convention Center.
We only had 2 nights here - before flying to New York, and had intended to go to Cape Canaveral but found that the hotel basically was next door to Sea World and after a very long drive the day before decided to go to Sea World instead. The hotel was good - check in staff polite and helpful - we used their laundry facilities and pool facilities - both good. Rooms were clean and the grounds lovely. We enjoyed our stay. Found it good value for money.
This hotel really is like a resort. It's huge, the people are friendly, it's near attractions (SeaWorld, gas station, outlet malls and other Disney attractions) and it's super clean! I could sit by the pool all day! (they have two)
Motel style rooms (outside doors), poor internet, 1960 rooms (low ceiling, old bathrooms) with cosmetic upgrades. I did enjoy the amenities - heated pools, ping pong, and pool. Staff was kind but the property does not meet the standards I expect of a Doubletree. I think the rooms were expensive given the quality. Several brand new hotels just across the street.
As others have noted they won't hesitate to put you into a room in a wing fully under construction. The construction zone starts 3 feet outside your front door (and window) and encompasses the entire courtyard "pool" area on the entire East wing (there is no pool or anything at all in the Eastern courtyard "resort" area except construction fence and active construction site). Noise starts early and by 7:00 am, it would be difficult to have a conversation in your room, let alone sleep. The parking lot ($18/night) is also filled with construction equipment and has large portions blocked off, so that finding a parking space during peak times is difficult and if you finally find a space prepare to lug your bags a good distance through construction to your room. A ridiculous situation for a Doubletree, especially considering you are given no warning and paying full price. Stayed at a lot of Hilton properties worldwide in the past, but this will put me off of their brand for the foreseeable future. If you're going to give customers a substantially inferior product you need to inform them and offer an incentive and then let them make their own informed purchase decisions. Forcing it on them blindly is very poor business, fool me once......
My husband and I came down from Northern Michigan for an early anniversary trip and found this location on Tripadvisor, and honestly weren't sure what the overall feel and look would be when we got there. Rest assured, in person this location is perfect for all, both young couples, business meetings, and families! A very nice "courtyard" or "campus" feel with lots of greenery, water features, great pools for both kids and adults. It was a little cooler at first, but the pools are heated. Overall, I felt like I was in a nice quaint resort for a much less expensive price. We will absolutely be recommend this place for friends and family, and possibly be back with our future family.
