I made the reservation over the phone. Changed locations from the Hyatt Place as I needed to be on the sea shore or water front. I didn't realize that breakfast was excluded on transferring my reservation and that you cannot add it on after the fact. I tried to plead with Shannon the Manager to reconsider and add it on but she declined. She asked me to come in a nd talk to Katie in the am but I met a male receptionist who categorically declined to do anything for me. Their advice was we don't add it on so that you can pay upfront when you consume it. This would've cost me about $16 per head plus taxed. 3 days with no breakfast would make anyone grouchy. Wouldn't it?
Recently returned from the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay.This hotel is definitely managed with a business traveler in mind. Everything was available and the staff was absolutely wonderful. They didn't just point to where something might be they actually would walk you over to show you. The rooms were clean with a large desk and amenities. The concierge floor was well worth it and it was probably one of the best stocked concierge floors I have seen in a long time. The food was delicious and again the staff went out of their way to make sure you were comfortable.There are several restaurants that actually have good food at the facility. The location is away from shopping and other venues so you may require a vehicle however. The gym is small but well-equipped, clean and they have a wonderful walk along the bay bridge overlooking Tampa Bay where you can run outside.The lobby has seating areas and computers throughout which means impromptu meetings are more than easy.This is definitely my choice for a hotel near the Tampa airport.
Being my first trip to Tampa I felt more comfortable to be outside the hotel than within due to a hostile environment that I received from the receptionist. I felt penalized for joining the world of Hyatt to enjoy its benefits. Being one who cherishes customer service I expected the staff to accommodate my needs but they were totally unwilling and did not care that I was patronizing their hotel. I could have gone anywhere else!
We're going to miss the friendly staff at this hotel. We stayed one week from May 14th to the 21st/ 17 and we couldn't believe how warm and friendly the staff were at this hotel. We had the breakfast buffet every morning and it was excellent, staff knew us and showed us to "our table" each morning. Both pool areas were very nice and we especially loved the private beach area. The food was also excellent at their "Oystercatchers Restaurant". We would definitely eat there again. This hotel is an example of top notch, friendly customer service at its best. Even the manager went out of his way to help us on one occasion and the door men and front desk staff were also very friendly and helpful. On one occasion when it was pouring rain, they provided us each with Hyatt umbrellas - a nice touch. The indoor parkade was also convenient and the gym/ sauna area was very useful. We will definitely stay at this hotel next time we are in Tampa. Thanks to the Grand Hyatt for a most enjoyable stay!
Our stay at the Grand Hyatt was a pleasure from the moment we drove up.Enjoyed the staff and their selections of good and wine.Hotel was very clean and well laid out.We enjoyed the comfortable room with great night sleep.Room service was great and quick.We enjoyed eating Ice cream at Scoops and Betty was Amazing and very friendly and let us sample some of your ice cream .,She greeted us every night with a beautiful smile and very professional and helpful.All your employee have excellent customer service.Excellent Hotel
