Hawthorn Suites Lake Buena Vista
- What's Included
We stayed for 11 nights at the Hawthorn suites and we were not disappointed. The room was massive with the added bonus of a kitchen and lounge. This worked well for us as travelling with a 4 year old who was tires after the parks allowed us to have food in our room and put her to bed whilst we could watch tv in the evening. A really important thing to mention was how clean the hotel was, our rooms were spotless and the pool area was equally as clean. The breakfast was great and the complimentary wine and beer was a very welcomed addition, Mayra who served the drinks was very friendly and remembered your order every night. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel was takes you straight to Disney springs / Magic kingdom for just 2$ per adult. Overall the hotel was excellent and would definitely recommend and stay there again.
Nice room in a very nice area. The pool and hot tub were great! We only stayed one night because we were staying on the resort at Disney the rest of the week and we only needed a place to stay after driving all day but I was very impressed at the value for the amount we paid to stay there. Free breakfast was included. Staff was friendly. There were 5 of us in the suite and the sofa bed was very comfortable. A good variety of restaurants nearby, including a Steak & Shake.
We have just stayed at h/s for 14 nights. Good accommodation for disney parks. Lovely helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Comfy beds. Could you with a bit of updating here and there but nothing major. Will definitely stay there again.
This is our second stay at this hotel. The first was with our children, this two week stay was as a couple. Not a lot has changed. There has been a disabled hoist fitted at the side of the pool, although I didn't see it in action. We made use of the social hour more this time ( 2 free drinks per person. Wine, bud light or soft drink. Also two choices of crisps/popcorn/corn chips) We found this very good to have before going out for dinner. One evening we had corn chips and salsa, so we didn't need a starter at the restaurant 😀 - available Monday-Thursday 5:30-7:30. Free hotdogs on a Wednesday. Our room was cleaned daily. Towels were replaced when left on the floor. Washing up was done. On a couple of occasions no coffee was left for our coffee machine but we just asked the cleaner in the hallway, and she gave us some. Our suite was very large. We had one huge bed. We have a king-size bed at home and this bed was much bigger. It was very comfortable. We used the pool a few times. The pool isn't that big, but was fine for us. Quite often we were the only ones in the pool. We went in the hot tub which was lovely. There is a basketball hoop. On a couple of occasions people were using it. The sunbeds and chairs were comfortable. Free towels were available for outside use. We didn't have a huge amount of contact with reception staff but when we did they were helpful. My husband had an issue with his key card a couple of times. It was replaced straight away. Could have been because he put it with his phone but mine was fine. The Olive garden Italian restaurant is about a ten minute walk away. (reasonable plus free salad and bread) We visited twice. Crossroads is about a twenty minute walk away. This has TGI Fridays, Sweet tomatoes, McDonald's plus about ten other food places. Also has a Goodings supermarket. If you have a car Walmart is about ten minutes awayThere are a few essential items for sale at the hotel but it's not a shop as such. Ten minutes walk there is a small shop and adjacent to the shop are a couple of restaurants and a small supermarket- might be handy if you don't have a car. Breakfast was 7am- 9:30am (till 10am Sunday)Free breakfast had plenty of choice. Tea. Coffee. Hot chocolate. Plain and strawberry yogurt. Alternating tinned peachs/mixed fruit. Alternating bananas/orange quarters. Egg. sausages or bacon. salsa and potatoes. Donuts, muffins, bread, sweet items. At least 3 choices of fruit juice. They use polystyrene bowls and cups for fruit and drinks. But normal plates and cutlery are used for everything else. Tables are kept clean and staff are constantly replenishing food and plates. Coffee is available at all times, although may not be boiling hot late at night. We used the shuttles. We booked our holiday through Virgin Holidays, our shuttles were free. Our shuttles went to the Disney transportation center. Our times from hotel were 8:30am 11:10am 1:00pmOur return times were 6:00pm 8:00pm 10:30pmUniversal Studios 8:30amReturn 6:55pmWe found them to be reliable. Also you don't have to pay $20 parking. We found they leave promptly. We were often the first pick up in the morning and the last drop off at night. We took my collapsible wheelchair on board. If you do have a car, parking is free at this hotel and when we were there there was plenty of empty spaces. A lot of hotels now charge for parking. We had a very enjoyable time and would not hesitate in returning to this hotel.
We stayed for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I loved the free happy hour and the breakfast buffet. Staff were very friendly. The room was nice but it could be more comfortable and updated. There wasn't enough kitchenware in the kitchen for our family though. The pack and play they gave us for my baby was clean and new.
