Across the street from Universal Studios, Universal's Islands of Adventure and Universal CityWalk. This newly renovated hotel was stripped from top to bottom. One of the top selling hotels in the area, it is the new hotel to be seen. Check out the 1 bedroom suites.

Honestly thought the hotel and the staff were extremely nice. I was staying at the Holiday Inn with my boyfriend's family for a vacation to Disney World. We began the first couple days of our trip without a problem. One night as we were about to go to bed my boyfriend found a bug in our bed... Looked like a bed bug but it was dead and we tried not to panic. We called downstairs and they came up immediately and tore apart the entire bed with no signs of infestation. They seemed to take the accusation seriously however kept making comments like "it could have been an ant" "are you sure thats what you saw." Fast forward two days later we found another bug alive crawling aronud on a the pull out couch in the living room. We called again and they said an Orken report would be conducted. Well come to find out now it was bed bugs...... Yes it was only one bug but the hassle we have experienced since this has been horrible. We had to spend hours washing everything that we brought on the trip and ended up ruining some of our clothes in order to protect our home. By the time we had discovered this was bed bugs we were already home from the trip and no one called to say what we should do about this issue. Would definitely recommend staying elsewhere as the trouble and stress of this situation is NOT WORTH YOUR TIME YOUR MONEY. You may spend more staying at a disney resort but trust me ITS WORTH IT.

They should have paid us to stay here

The staff were seriously lacking Customer service training of of any kind, The Man checking us in was rude and aggressive, took another man who walked in after us and said we weren't in line when we were standing there right behind the person they just checked it. Since we went to the park prior to check in check in (because we were told we cant check in until 3:00 pm) we wanted to have a glass of wine we brought and relax but realized we forgot the opener, I went to the front desk to ask for one and the man that greeted me (with a hair cut like a pencil eraser top) opened the drawer beneath him where there was one of those $2.00 flip open ones Hotels usually GIVE you, the Man said we have one but I can't just give it to you, you have to either bring us the bottle or I can have Mr. Jose (some guy walking by behind him in a white T shirt) bring it to you, I asked what if I leave my license and bring it back he stated it was against policy and still refused, I said send Mr. Jose to room 512, he said fine and I proceeded back to the room. After about a half hour of waiting for "Mr. Jose" I tried to call the front desk which from the room is a JOKE. I hit "0" which usually gets you the operator,it didn't, there were buttons for M.O.D. ("Manager on Duty", I have worked for Major Resorts all over Florida as Director of Engineering, not holes like this) which i tried calling three times with no answer and one for Room service which also did not answer (imagine if there was an emergency...really class place) so my wife (Furious at this point) tried calling the main number and got the same guy I saw who stated Mr. Jose already brought it up where she began adding a few choice words of her own and took a bottle to the front desk where Mr. Eraser-top said again Mr. Jose just brought it to our room, where the two kids and myself were waiting and no Mr. Jose. Since this Hotel didn't even have a Restaurant she went to the attache TGIF Restaurant where they gladly opened it for her, I ended up going to Walgreen's down the road and bought one since she now needed a few more glasses to calm down (needless to say after over 2 hours of waiting no opened ever showed up). the stay didnt get any better from here, in the morning we had breakfast and were heading back to the Parks to do some more rides and thought we would take the shuttle, dont waist your time here or book it a week in advance since at 8:30am she said there were no available shuttles until "possibly" 10:30am or tomorrow, so we Uber'd it for $5.00 for the four of us and it was literally there in 5 minutes. While we were getting ready I thought I'd use the in room iron and iron a shirt I had (Bad idea) not looking first I tried ironing the shirt and some kind of plastic like stuff was melted on the iron I have pics which you can see below) and got on my shirt so that shirt was trashed, I tried cleaning the stuff off and gave up and just threw on a T-shirt, I tried closing the ironing board but it wouldn't close so I just left it there on its side. The A/C sounded like a locomotive every time it turned on (see pic below), the thermostat on the wall did not work so we had to use the one on the A/C itself, the kids room (508) thermostat did work but wouldn't go below 74 degrees (doubt it actually worked either)and this is NOT a safe Hotel by any means as we had a TON of food Ads shoved under the door showing there is no security keeping people from just walking in off the streets and right up to your room (Have pics of those too). And then there are the cosmetics of the place, neither room had corner guards on the walls so the entry was was pretty well nicked up and needed a serious patching in both rooms, the place was very noisy and the entry doors SLAMMED which echoed throughout the place, they only had spring hinges and not closer's which would slow the door from slamming and quietly allow the door to close, I am a very light sleeper so the first night of our two night stay I didn't get much sleep but the second night we had a few shots at T.G.I.F. to help with that. So, if you are planning on staying close to Universal, spend the extra $100 and stay on property, since your room ticket also is an express pass for the rides and will save you $89.00 per person per day for both parks which four people for two days is "more" than pays for the extra $100 spent on the rooms. I can write a bunch more but i'll be nice.

Ok Stay

I have to give this property a mixed review. I stayed here for three nights, part of a Costco deal.The good:Quick check inFriendly front desk staffConvenient location across the street from UniversalClose to outlet mallExcellent wi fiNew, very comfortable bedPlentiful parkingConvenient TGIFriday restaurant attached to hotelMicrowave and refrigerator in roomThe needs improvement:Housekeeping needs to do a better job. There was a nail clipping on the carpet. There were smudges on the glass top of the dresser/tv stand.There were stains on the bed skirt.There was a stain on one of the chairs.Maintenance:Heater did not work, it only blew cold air.Inside of bathroom door is beat up and needs to be painted.Front desk:Could not tell us if they could provide a sewing kit. They tried to call housekeeping and never got us a response. When we saw a housekeeping unit on our floor, we asked and were told to talk to the front desk.

Excellent option for Universal

We stayed one night while we visited the Universal theme parks. A very short walk to the parks.The room was clean and spacious. A good option if you don't want to stay onsite but want to be near to the parks.Breakfast is not included, though they do have a restaurant that service breakfast for a charge of around $12-13/person.

Great Hotel

This is the best Holiday Inn I've ever stayed at. The staff and the shuttle drivers are all extremely friendly. The only negative thing I have to say is there is only two shuttles (two morning and two evening) from Epcot, so that can make for a long day.
