unexpectedly very good

We stayed here for 3 days to attend a conference in January. The hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate all of us and help us. Rooms were very clean. Wi-Fi was good. Hotel was convenient for those who wanted to go to Universal. Parking was free and convenient. There was an outdoor pool. TGIF restaurant was next door. Our reservation was a little complex and the desk manager easily made it work well. We used the exercise room and it was fine. I would stay here again.

You can do better!!

Other than location this hotel has no positives! They advertise that they have breakfast provided which in fact they do not. I made reservations weeks ago,. While driving to Orlando I got a call stating that my credit cards was declined!? I said why do you charge my card when I am not even there yet? They wanted to make sure. So I said I can provide another card, they said I needed to fax the card?! When I said I was driving they cancelled the reservation and I had to rebook using IHG on the phone. When I arrived they gave us a room which literally looked like a jail cell. No light! The remote did not work. I requested service and they did not do anything about it. The next morning I asked and then they had it working. The last day of our stay they cancelled the room keys at 10 AM although departure time is 11AM.

Stayed here for one night to visit Universal Studios with my husband and 10-year-old daughter. We picked this hotel due to location. Loved the convenience of coming and going without having to rely on the shuttle which does in fact book up quickly. It's a very easy walk to Universal and City Walk. Arrived at hotel at 8 AM and checked in before heading to the park. Was checked in by a very polite lady by the name of Phoenix. Received a call approximately 2:30 PM to advise me our room was ready. When we were done at Universal we returned to the hotel and just picked up our key. Rooms were comfortable and clean. TGI Fridays is attached but opted to take a short drive and had plenty of other options to choose from. Our rate for the one night was $100 which I found to be a great price for the location. Would definitely stay again.

Wouldn't repeat, but not terrible.

We stayed here for 4 nights on both points and part of a timeshare presentation. Please keep in mind that we were here during peak travel so the place was at full capacity during our stay. Quick Pros and Con'sProsManagement - When we had an issue and reached out to management it was quickly resolved. Location - Short walk to the park and also have free parking at the hotel for guest. The parking lot was never full. Internet - consistent. Con's Room/Bathroom - tired, with the bathroom very smallShuttle - both employees and experience were not great. Housekeeping - ignoring do not disturb, bad job cleaning. Business center - frustrating and expensive. Here's a more detailed review of our stay:Internet – consistent. It was nice that we didn’t need to log back into the wifi every day but was constant for our entire trip. At night Netflix was a little blurry on our laptop but that’s to be expected. TV – We didn’t watch any television, but the TV had been hard coded so that we couldn’t use an HDMI cord to hook up a laptop to the tv. I hate it when hotels do this and it seems to be just to be able to get you to pay for movies instead. Housekeeping – we generally don’t like housekeeping to come every day, but after a few days, it’s nice to have a freshen up. Unfortunately our housekeeping experiences we sub par. When they did ‘clean’ they did not clean up the bathroom or provide more amenities (shampoo, lotion). Pretty lame. Also, they knocked loudly repeatedly when we had a late check, a great way to start the day. Business center –avoid if possible. We realized we needed some paperwork to get our Universal tickets so we used the business center to get it done. The center charges 20 cents a minute PLUS 75 cents per printed page. On top of that, the computer ran on an outdated browser (internet explorer) which wasn’t compatible with access gmail to print. Shuttle – not worth it. One of the main selling points for this location for us was the complimentary shuttle to Orlando studios. This turned out to be a bit of a nightmare because space is very limited (needs to be booked a day in advance during busy times) and also is shared with 4 or so other hotels. Holiday Inn is the last stop before the park so on the plus side you’re not on the shuttle forever, the downside is you probably won’t get a seat. The next day we went down at 7 a.m. to reserve our spots just to find out that the system was down and the employee rudely shooed us away saying she didn’t know when tickets would be available. We ended up walking which only took us about 20 minutes and was pleasant. After the shuttle issues, we decided walking was easier. Rooms have basic amenities: refrigerator, microwave, coffee etc. It was slightly disappointing that the freezer section of the mini fridge would barely fit two water bottles. This might be to encourage you to eat at TGI Friday attached to the hotel that always had a line out the door during meal times. Outlets – Outlets are pretty important for us as travelers. Our room didn’t provide a lot of options in this department. Only one bedside table had outlets on the lamp and the outlets we found needed us to unplug a lamp or the tv to be usable. No USB power options either. pretty important for us as travelers. Our room didn’t provide a lot of options in this department. Ideal for visit to Universal

The room was clean and tidy. Perhaps a little dated but quite nice. Pool area was nice but chairs could be replaced as the webbing was weather worn. Staff was super friendly. It was close to interstate 4 and to international drive with its array of shops and restaurants. All in all a very relaxing place to stay.
