Across the street from Universal Studios, Universal's Islands of Adventure and Universal CityWalk. This newly renovated hotel was stripped from top to bottom. One of the top selling hotels in the area, it is the new hotel to be seen. Check out the 1 bedroom suites.

Travel agent booked this hotel for us based on our budget however will not return!

We stayed for 4 nights and was so grateful that was all or I would have insisted on a refund and went to another hotel! We are aware it is a budget hotel however it should still be clean and tidy and not make our lives difficult. We paid $107.50 AUD per night and they took a $75 holding deposit. I have since received the one nights stay refund through my travel agent, however, I am still waiting on the what was owed back to be from the holding deposit.Negatives: *Upon arrival in the room, the room was okay however we went to fill the ice bucket up and it was full of the last guests rubbish! We took it to manager expecting to get a clean one and they were apologetic and gave us a food voucher to use at Fridays which was the attached public restaurant. I did accept it as it made the unpleasant find tolerable.*Next day we returned very late after a full day at NASA to find a very careless and poorly serviced room! Our hearts sank. The beds were made but in a way that it looked like they just threw the sheets back on bed, we accept that they are not fresh as they don't service daily however we expect them to at least be made! We ran out of toilet paper so had no choice but to leave it empty and they did not replace the toilet paper. The toilet seat was left up and the bathroom was not wiped over. (and we are not messy). I immediately rang the manager and they said that it would be at least half and hour before housekeeping could come. We waited for about half an hour and security came to the room and could see and confirmed with management the problem. They said it would be at least another half an hour for housekeeping. By this time it was after 9 pm we were hungry and wanted a shower and go to bed so we told them not to come and we would just put up with it.*We got tickets for Universal Studios and the only thing I would say to that is that it would have been nice for that person in the lobby booking area to let us know the park closed at 7 pm!! He gave us two return shuttle times of 8 pm, 10:45 pm and midnight so why would we think the park closed at 7 pm??? As a result, we missed out on a number of attractions in the two parks because suddenly the park was closed! We were very far away from the exit when we could see the place closing so we were lucky to make it back to catch the 8 pm shuttle or we would have had to stay in the city walk area (which was no interest for us to stay to eat) until the 10:45 pm shuttle! Us visitors are out of our normal towns and need to be guided and informed to make our holidays run smoothly and be enjoyable, is that too much to ask? So very simple to let us know or highlight to us that first return shuttle is 8 pm however the parks close at 7 pm!*The carpeted walkway on level 3 and at the lobby as you enter and exit the lifts were always dirty with bits of paper and rubbish. *On the same night we had not had our room serviced properly and after a very long day, we fell into bed exhausted about 10:40 pm we were asleep shortly after when at 11 pm the hotel room phone suddenly rang making me leap out of bed startled!! The person on the phone asked me if we were the *** family which was not our surname and I said not it is not, I then said it's 11 pm and we were sleep and hung up. I told reception the next day and told them I will be taking the phone off the hook so don't come and knock on the door if it triggers reception as I don't want to be woken like that again!*The reception staff for the hotel was pleasant enough and they were apologetic for the less than ideal stay and they refunded one-night stay which was not expected but appreciated. However, I hope for future guest rather than keep compensating and apologizing to guests I would rather the housekeeping and guest services staff lift their game and have clean rooms and give guests useful and accurate information. While I was at reception those couple of times, each time they were compensating or apologizing to another guest for a less than idea issue.*Our room had an interconnecting door and the guests in the other room could be heard clearly and the tv too. Thin walls and doors.*In-room safe was locked so annoyingly had to wait for a long time to have maintenance to unlock code so we could use it.*First night when we relaxed for the night and went to turn on TV the remote was flat so I took to reception (again) and ask for batteries and then I had to wait for maintenance to bring it back. So he returned sometime later and unlocked safe and gave us remote that worked.Positives: *The Fridays restaurant attached to the hotel that is open to the public has good food and you can order it to room or go an collect and bring back to the room or dine in. The food is sensational! And yes I agree with other guests reviews that they take a very long time to answer the phone if you order from your room however if you go to the restaurant you will see just how busy this place is to patience is needed however once ordered is arrives promptly and presented beautifully.*It had a fridge and microwave and tea and coffee maker.*Towels were acceptable.*Pillows were generous and comfy.*Shower was hot and efficient.*Shampoo/Conditioner and soaps were supplied.*Beds were old and lumpy but surprisingly comfy.Note to management/hotel: * After our stay I read others recent reviews and management response has been that this is not a normal occurrence, well it seems to me it is based on how many other guests have mentioned the less than ideal stay. Even a relatively cheap hotel should be clean and tidy and not make the stay for guests unpleasant.*All the things listed in the negative comments can be avoided which will give your guest a pleasant stay. The last thing a guest needs is to waste precious holiday time constantly sorting out issues that can be avoided. We paid for our stay in advance, and it seemed like we had to work so hard during the stay when all we wanted to do was relax and enjoy and be looked after!

2 room Suite

We booked the 2 room Suite as we had 2 couples sharing the space. We got the 1 king bed and 2 Queen beds in other room. Each had own bathroom and nice living room with full size fridge, Kreuig machine and microwave in between the 2 rooms. Great hotel staff that was very accommodating when our room wasn't ready at check in due to water issue but gave us vouchers for free breakfast next day. Guest services is helpful in booking free shuttle to Universal Studios or getting tickets if needed. Budget rental car has location inside the hotel which is helpful. Conveniently located across from Universal Studios if you want to walk to the park. We had a great experience and recommend if in the area.

Basic, Dated Hotel but Convenient

I stayed at this hotel while attending a conference at the Convention Center. Friendly service and easy parking are the highlights. Downside is that this is an older hotel without a restaurant: there is an attached FRIDAY’s that offers their typical fare which I tend not to like in the least. There is one other Indian/Chinese restaurant about 1/4-mile away which is excellent. Other than that, it is into the car and back out into crazy Orlando traffic for food. Given the comparatively lower-cost rooms, this can be a good alternative. One key point is that the Business Center does not allow you to print out airline boarding passes for free...a bummer.

ripped off

hotel great clean friendly room service brilliant major fault with transfer from hotel to disney parks payed for transfer dropped ok but not collected that evening had to get taxi back to hotel after paying for transferasked for refund that night would not give me one tried again day i left still would not refund me if plannig on going to disney parks please consider using other hotels with better transfers as this one is not great for it

2 bedroom suite is money

We had 7 people in the 2 bedroom suite. Both rooms have 2 queen beds. Center area has kitchen and living room area. Both rooms have a separate bathroom. So convenient. Across the road from Universal Studios. First stop on the bus route after a long day makes this place worth its weight in gold!! Loved everything. I would be shocked if there is a more convenient location for after visiting Universal. Clean room. No complaints.
