Can't fault this hotel. It's close to all the attractions but set back in a tranquil location. Fantastic pool and gardens with some lovely walks. Staff a genuine and welcoming and the choice of restaurants are great to suit your appetite and mood.
This Hyatt property is unique and there is a lot to appreciate, but there are a couple of things to bare in mind if you are considering this location. 1. This is a huge property and the pools are great for kids and family. Unlike many other properties in Orlando this one is very private with lots of surrounding land. From the grotto pool to the lake with surrounding trail, this place is the anti-International Drive hotel. 2. The rooms have stand only balconies and were probably considered "contemporary" when built way back when Japanese sliding shades may have been considered adequate privacy for the family bathroom.3. Food. The burger is good. Avoid the Sushi & rolls. Scary gray & sinewy tuna. The May menu was "Blueberry Festival" inspired and lacked a single eatable selection. There are a number of decent looking chain restaurants within a short distance if you are able to escape the sprawling property. I have been here many times, but with recent menu changes will likely shack elsewhere.
I highly recommend this hotel. Great staff, great restaurants, great accommodations. Beautiful facilities. Totally enjoyed my stay for both my personal vacation time and my attendance at the conference.
I stayed here with my wife and daughter. It's everything you would expect from a Hyatt - tons of facilities, spacious rooms and good quality restaurants. We had a room on a high floor with good sound insulation from the neighbouring rooms. There are some points where the hotel could do better. Firstly, the room was cleaned, but the floors were never swept so after a few days they started to look dirty. Secondly, the restaurant struggles to cope with seating at breakfast, with waits of 20-30mins not uncommon. I'd recommend anyone going gets to breakfast before 8am to avoid the rush. Finally, there is a mandatory resort fee added to the bill. I can't recall the exact amount, but it added up to $200 on our stay for facilities that we never used. Most people will be visiting the theme parks and not making extensive use of the hotel facilities. The valet parking team were warm, friendly and had our car brought up within minutes. They always said hello to us and chatted every morning to our 5-year old daughter which was a nice touch. We loved the pool complex and spent most late afternoons there to rest after being in the parks. Watch the pool depth if you have small children as it's too deep for learner swimmers to be left unattended.
