International Palms Resort
- What's Included
The rooms were nice and the location was very convenient. The pool was nice, the food was good. We stayed there so we could be on International Blvd. You can walk on International Blvd and you have access to activities and food. It is about an hour drive to Disney World and we also drove 2 hours and visited Cocoa Beach and the Kennedy Space Station Centre.
We stayed in the tower behind the main hotel and our room was fine. I understand that the hotel is currently closed for refurbishment so it would be interesting to return and see what changes have been made. We didn't have any meals at the hotel so I can't report on those, preferring to breakfast either at Denny's (once) down the road or, more frequently, at the World Cafe right opposite the hotel . We had no problems with the cleanliness of our room, as long as it meets the two criteria in being clean and comfortable beds then that's ok. The pool area was nice and we did like the cocktails at the pool bar, very refreshing. The hotel is ideally situated on International Drive and if we had known about it we'd have bought one of the tickets for the former trolleybuses that run a regular service along the Drive as they are very reasonably priced indeed. Anyone visiting should find out about these as a means of getting about, assuming they haven't hired a car of course.
The loalcality and area of the hotel is really noce. The rooms are really spacious especially in comparison to hotels in asia and europe. Like it had 2 double beds thats was pretty shocking to me. The facilities and pool and all are really nice. The gardens are well trimmed. One of the major issues that we faced was the wifi its 2016 AND THEIR WIFI SPPEDS WERE SLOWER THAN WHAT I HAVE SEEN 2 STAR HOTELS IN ASIA and also we spotted some coackroaches in the corridors. If you willing to ditch the wifi definitely a place to stay.
Stayed here last April for 2 weeks. Room and hotel a little dated but perfectly adequate for us all. The location is perfect at the top end of I drive with loads of restaurants, bars and activities in walking distance.
I booked this hotel through ticketsatwork.com for one night and obtained a full refund for my stay. But I am so disgusted by this place that I felt compelled to warn as many people as I could of this place and hopefully stop them from staying here. The first room was gross just walking up to it on the carpet outside the room, yes outside the rooms and throughout the corridor there is carpet. This wouldn't be a problem if the outside of the room wasn't literally outside. We got there at night from a park and were dead tired. Even then, I could hear the highway traffic like I was standing in the middle of freeway and knew I wasn't going to be able to fall asleep with so much noise. So I tried showering in their disgusting shower, which porcelain was chipping and the wood trims of the doors looked like were chewed off by a savage. After my husband showered, he grabbed a towel that was used. It had dirt stains on them, which means, they do no use clorox or a disinfectant to clean.. or worse, they don't clean their towels after use. When I tried to call front desk to switch rooms, I couldn't use their phone. The room phone was covered in nasty dirt, so I had to use my cell phone. The second room was worse. One of the beds had bedbugs everywhere. I was so exhausted, and it was the only room available not on the highway that I gave up. Btw, there was hair (public) all over the bathroom sink. My husband ended up sleeping on the other bed, covered in our own blanket and I slept upright in the armchair. The next morning I was so upset that he was covered in bed bug bites, I took off the sheets and to my surprise... bed bugs and urine stains EVERYWHERE, both beds. I know this place is cheap ($40-50 a night) but consider paying another $20-30 and save yourself the headache and possible Lyme diseases. STAY ELSEWHERE!!
