International Palms Resort
- What's Included
I booked this hotel through ticketsatwork.com for one night and obtained a full refund for my stay. But I am so disgusted by this place that I felt compelled to warn as many people as I could of this place and hopefully stop them from staying here. The first room was gross just walking up to it on the carpet outside the room, yes outside the rooms and throughout the corridor there is carpet. This wouldn't be a problem if the outside of the room wasn't literally outside. We got there at night from a park and were dead tired. Even then, I could hear the highway traffic like I was standing in the middle of freeway and knew I wasn't going to be able to fall asleep with so much noise. So I tried showering in their disgusting shower, which porcelain was chipping and the wood trims of the doors looked like were chewed off by a savage. After my husband showered, he grabbed a towel that was used. It had dirt stains on them, which means, they do no use clorox or a disinfectant to clean.. or worse, they don't clean their towels after use. When I tried to call front desk to switch rooms, I couldn't use their phone. The room phone was covered in nasty dirt, so I had to use my cell phone. The second room was worse. One of the beds had bedbugs everywhere. I was so exhausted, and it was the only room available not on the highway that I gave up. Btw, there was hair (public) all over the bathroom sink. My husband ended up sleeping on the other bed, covered in our own blanket and I slept upright in the armchair. The next morning I was so upset that he was covered in bed bug bites, I took off the sheets and to my surprise... bed bugs and urine stains EVERYWHERE, both beds. I know this place is cheap ($40-50 a night) but consider paying another $20-30 and save yourself the headache and possible Lyme diseases. STAY ELSEWHERE!!
Great place to relax n have fun lots to do all around i loved it.. gor sure planning to go back hopefully very very soon with friends . Just for more fun the service was great always on time only thing i didnt like is theres glass n silver wear plates but no pots n pans
We stayed at the hotel from the 14th to the 24th of December. On arrival the male receptionist seemed quite moody and unfriendly. On entering the room there was a very strong smell of damp, fusty, old smell. We did report this to reception and were offered another room. Which was exactly the same smell and all. Also most evenings no hot water available. The hotel itself is a good location , plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. It is just very dated, I was advised by a staff member that the hotel was actually closing in January/february for a refurb. It does definitely need it. The iride is a fab way to get up and down international drive. I would recommend buying a week or two week pass as you can jump on and off as many times as you like. The hotel does offer a free shuttle to universal which is handy. But this does leave at set times and also picks up at set times. If you are to go anywhere by taxi I would definitely recommend using Uber, down load the app to your phone and you will save so much money by using this service rather than a taxi.
This place is basically a really big Motel 6. And there's nothing wrong with that, as long as you know what you're in for. If you get a great rate, go for it. (They do charge a resort fee, and calling this place a resort is a bit of a stretch. The fee did include in-room wifi, though.)I stayed at the International Palms because an event I attended was held here. It's on a particularly uninteresting section of International Drive, but it is right near Wet 'n Wild and Universal Studios (even within walking distance, depending on how much walking you're willing to do).The decor is extremely dated, but housekeeping did the best they could with what they have to work with. The room was big and had a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. There's also a pool, and a hot breakfast buffet was included.
I wish I could've given this zero stars and still reviewed it. -smelled like mold-fire detector falling off wall-no TP in "just cleaned" room-literal beer in hotel phone that had been there so long it has turned to syrup -throw up in elevator - seriously so moldy I got a sinus infection after only staying there 1 night. - toilet was literally broken and had to be manually shut off after every flush, had to lift back lid and jiggle EVERY TIME.-sketch paper shoved in door jam- beer bottles all over pool- I'm convinced there is no cleaning crew at this hotelOverall super dirty never ever ever getting back together with this hotel!
